People dislike Tidus because he is an andro fuckboi with a circus costume and a disastrous English dub. It has nothing to do with his edginess or lack thereof, he is just one of the most unlikeable protagonists in the history of videogames.

It's my favorite FF but it does have flaws and it's definitely not perfect, and it's not really underrated either, it's japan's favorite FF and the rest of the world loves it too

This game is fine but the sphere grid has to be one of the shittiest "customization" systems in any JRPG.
At least with the Crystarium in XIII you could actually choose what job to spend points on even if progression was entirely linesr, but with the sphere grid it's literally just follow the line and choose if you want to get two extra boosts off to the side once in a while.

The scene where Tidus finds out Yuna's gonna die is absolutely laughable, it's meant to be this big emotional breakdown but he sounds like a child who didn't get the Happy Meal toy he wanted.

Yuna and Rikku also sound like they're reading straight off the script in basically any scene they're in.
Part of this is obviously the stilted localized script, but the voice direction is totally awful.
