I don't even think that'll do it. The switch did as good as it did was because it was innately cheap compared to the other options. At least now you can play something other than just first party games since every company seems to jumping on board. Nintendo allowed retailers in the US to start accepting pre-orders on April 9th, but they notified all of them yesterday that there would be an indefinite delay. This is coming down from Nintendo, and it's not up to the individual retailer.
Nintendo's own online store in the US was always set to accept pre-orders on May 8th through the registration system.

Success for Switch 2 is defined as outselling PS4 for hardware (117 million). It will struggle to break 100 million (Wii was a cultural hit and only sold 100 million)
