You can kill Skullface, murder Huey, burn the world down and it still won't bring me back. Me or any of the dead

You can kill Skullface, murder Huey, burn the world down and it still won't bring me back. Me or any of the dead.

spare his soldiers from the heartless sea

throws Huey into it

LA GENIALIDAD

Paz story was so fucking tragic if you played PW.
You have a quirky over-the-top character from a fun-filled silly game that you can go on dates with suddenly get raped by multiple soldiers in her next appearance.

Not to mention having a bomb stuffed
in her abdomen and cooch.

Don't you find out it's all an act in PW?

felt like miseryporn and quite out of character for Kojimbles tbdesu
I would have felt better about it if TPP ended up actually being a similarly-dark game to GZ, but the story was so wafer-thin it felt like the guy was just trying out grimdark for a bit in the sidegame to see if he could pull it off, rather than giving it a proper go

Not like TPP was sunshine and rainbows

How many people didnt shoot skullface?

While I agree, I feel the story didn't really have enough meat on its bones to be a full exploration of the darker tone he was going for
this conversation is well-trodden ground with V so no point re-litigating it, but I agree that what was there was close enough in tone to GZ

It's strange how everyone remembers and pity Paz (who did suffered horrifically), yet nobody gave a shit about Chico, who was an actual innocent kid, who got tortured just as much as her.
even the cut plotline with him in TPP was about him being a murderous insane killer and needing to be put down. Kojima even said he removed it because he just thought it was boring.

Peace literally got raped. Massive tone shift aside, I can see what Kojimbo was going for.

See below
You do, but it can be missed if you don't do the Side Ops, and there's no hints on where to find that dude on his final escape attempt

Chico soldout his compas in PW. As much as I want to like him he is a snitch.

He was tortured and was 12 years old jesus

You know I miss the days when Anon Babble would actually discuss more than the shit stain that is mgsV. Like I'm 100% convinced none of you guys actually played any of the other games because if you did you'd talk about them and not the abortion that is V

V pretty much has a "legend" surrounding it due to what happened to Kojima, even if many things already got explained and debunked, people won't accept this. They will keep the "legend" going.
It fit Big Boss

He gave him a boat and provisions which was way more than he deserved

Reminder that as much Huey is a dickhead, he is innocent of the MSF attack. Kaz used him as a scapegoat because he couldn't accept he fucked up.

Make your own thread, crybaby.

Doesn’t Paz in one of her tapes say she’s not the only double agent on mother base? There’s a lot of circumstantial evidence but never anything concrete. Skullface even calls him a traitor very poignantly when you see him again in Afghanistan.

Skull Face was fucking with him for following the XOF agents (they gave him the choice to die or work with them). Huey lies multiple time in the story when he is caught in a lie (helping the kids, Strangelove's death...), but about the MSF attack? He never change his story, not even with truth serum.

MGSV covers events from 1975 to 1995. It's ridiculous to expect people to just forget about it.

1995? the game ends in 1984

Doesn’t Paz in one of her tapes say she’s not the only double agent on mother base?

Wasn't this implied to be Kaz? I haven't played these games in so long it's getting hazy

There's an unknown person in a tape during Paz torture who has Kaz voice actor, in english and japanese. It might be a red herring though.

the game starts and end in 1995. The whole phantom pain is flashback that phantom big boss had in outer heaven in 1995.

It doesn't, the game guide specifically says the final scene still take place in 1984, Venom is said to simply have left Diamond Dogs for Outer Heaven just after the story of TPP.

the final scene still take place in 1984

DId you play the game?
that mirror scene, BOTH big boss are shown, the one that is on zanzibar land in asia and the one that is in outer haven in africa.
The end is in 1995 even though is just 10 seconds when big boss punch that mirror because he hates big boss

It's specifically said that the scene takes place in 1984 in the development guide, you can verify

Huey being an asshole came out of nowhere when he was a total otacon tier bro in PW

Probably was done to explain why he killed himself, all the guilt caught him

I watch the jp love deterrence video at least once a week still

Reminder that people unironically thought quiet was a trooned out Chico

brand you and the people under you as mercenaries working for whoever is willing to pay for you

gets shocked when someone under you takes money to do a job

Truly the only thing Huey did wrong was be a named character when Miller was looking for someone to blame

We knew he got cucked to death later on
He didn't have to completely character assassinate him like that.

Huey just being Otacon 2.0 was bad writing in PW, TPP corrected the course to something much more fitting.

It wasn't just some cucking, Otacon was a minor at the time.
He much have felt horrible to realize his kid got abused because he never would have met this woman if he had not killed Strangelove

I read somewhere that Huey and Otacon reflect each others with their relationship with their Snakes. Both start pretty much as the same character :
Solid Snake ended up making Otacon a better person
Big Boss ended up making Huey as a worst person

because Chico was annoying in PW and his Monster Hunter stuff was too on-the-nose, even for a game with a MH reference level and whose endgame effectively aped monhun
by comparison Paz was standard anime uguu girl until the ending "twist", so she had more goodwill before getting put into the painmachine

yes kaz is a traitor
he lured big boss to camp omega in the first place
remember the dialogue between snake and kaz
big boss asks if they should silence paz before theyre compromised and kaz comes up with the idea of rescuing her
skullface then knows big boss is coming through kaz and rigs paz instead of killing her
theres also that tape with kaz saying give the shot already implying he was on camp omega before she was rigged likely how he knows paz survived in the first place

killed Strangelove

This came out of nowhere too

He also was the one who organized motherbase thing in PW. He was the traitor all along. He used Costa Rica and their civil war and BB to create war as a business. It was him. I have disliked him ever since PW came out.

Man, playing a game as massive as PW on my little PSP was wild at the time.
Really love that game. I hope the online for the PS3 version keeps working for a long time

desu I don't think he actually killed her on purpose, My theory is that he wanted to lock her to "punish her", realized too late she would not be able to breath, and we he saw her dead he panicked and pretended she wasn't there.
It's still fucked up but I don't see him as a man willing to murder.

He wouldn't do any of that in the first place
He coomed his pants when she agreed to go out with him in PW, and this is after orbiting her for years

Snitches get stiches.
A lot of them in this case.

No evidence or proposed motivation for his purported role in MSF's destruction

No evidence of his role in Strangelove's death

No formal investigation into his own death that was suspiciously ruled as an accident as opposed to suicide, or potential murder

Ocelot, of all people, was unable to extract any information from him from via extended periods of physical, psychological and chemical torture

Why does Anon Babble have a hateboner for this dude? He seems like a scapegoat for a series of events that all have better, more logical primary suspects.

killed by a South Park bit

What a way to go.

Some pseds on Anon Babble like to go on on the people that say MGS filter people but it's true. The Kaz/Huey thing proves it. They didn't understand the story and get pissy when told they didn't understand it.

Otacon saw him kill himself, and Huey admitted he killed accidentally Strangelove
Though he also tell Kaz and everyone else they have no right to judge him because no one in the room are good people.

How would he lock her inside? The Boss AI was fully functional and controls the hatch to access the interior. This is a major plot element of the climax of Peace Walker. I.E. if The AI wanted to let her out, it could have. I legitimately believe the AI itself disliked Strangelove, and for more than a few reasons given her final tape where she reveals the extent of her narcissism bordering on psychopathic behavior. She was everything The Boss would have hated.
This also ties into what can be summarized as a one-sided relationship between the two women during their time on Project Mercury, where Strangelove attempted multiple times to prevent The Boss' from participating, against the latter's will, and for no other discernible reason other than a vague, ambiguous (likely physical) attraction.
For these reasons, I legitimately believe The Boss AI, as a byproduct of loathing its own existence, eventually lured Strangelove into the Mammal Pod and murdered her. If for no other reason than because she was a lunatic who was actively working against The Boss' will, but also likely due to her status as the AI's creator.

Why would she yell to Huey to open the pod?

in the end he truly was the big boss

TRVTH

idol of peace

raped to death

LA INCREDIBILIDAD

To frame him, or because she legitimately believed he might have (somehow) operated the hatch, despite there being no evidence that anybody other than the AI itself has access to it. Potentially both.
Remember: Strangelove hated Huey, and for no other reason than because he was a biological male. She admits on her deathbed that she emotionally manipulated him and that Hal is not his son, rather her and The Boss', and refers to him as "irrelevant."

The thing is, she is an over-the-top villain. That's my point. She is never treated as anything serious even after the reveal. PW is a silly game and then suddenly we have Paz being tortured and raped.

but why would Huey then incriminate himself by lying and even almost admitting?

Otacon saw him kill himself

>When the accident happened, I was in my room. I learned later that E.E. was calling me for help... She didn't doubt for a minute that I'd be there. You could see the pool from my room... but I didn't realize at the time that she needed my help.

Otacon did not, in fact, witness what occurred, nor have any inclination that Huey's death was a suicide. His story is fabricated by his guilt. He betrayed Huey, as well as Emma, and in an honorable attempt to confront this he creates a scenario where he's the cause to that effect.

Huey admitted he killed accidentally Strangelove

He admits that he found the body and neglected to mention it. Nothing more.

Nothing in PW is really ever treated as anything too serious despite the game being about the beginning of the commercialization of war. That's the point. Both PW and V are insidious mirror images into the broken psychology of a villain from different points of view, and both abstract their most questionable parts through gamification.
Now think about it. Paz is a peace symbol in the time the world decided to commercialize murder.

He didn't lie. SeeNobody asks about her. She's never inquired about. When her time does finally come, he simply states that he knew she had died, and assumed it was suicide.
There's no instance where he claims she's alive, that she went somewhere else, etc... He simply chooses not to mention it because she has no relevance and likely due to his own personal attachment to her. Hell, as morbid as it sounds, he may have found comfort continuing his work "near" her.

people say that MGSV has no plot

all this discussion just around one plot point

Kojimbo-san, I kneel

I won't scatter your sorrow to the heartless sea

I will always be with you

Plant your roots in me

I won't see you end as ashes

You're all diamonds

Yeah, and in MGS2 it was established that he was a piece of shit who tried to drown his stepdaughter after his son cucked him. I liked how Phantom Pain brought him back around. It made him a much more interesting character. He's an Otacon-tier bro when everything's going how he wants it, but he goes into nuclear damage control and self-delusion the second he screws up. And that self-delusional narcissism lets him justify doing virtually everything as long as he can convince himself he's the victim in all this. It's great. He's probably my favorite character in Phantom Pain.

Two Big Boss doppelgangers are operating in the same region during the same time period, have similar if not identical thematic storylines, and both have histories with two different blond-haired children nicknamed "White Devil" who lead their own respective units of child soldiers, all the while the real Big Boss returns to America to command a unit whose best soldier is, you guessed it, a Big Boss doppelganger

Nobody ever notices any of this despite Big Boss being an international legend among even the lowest military ranks

Anheuser's.jpg - 640x902, 133.03K

My view on Huey in TPP is that he is a very twisted person, but he's also not some bogeyman monster people at DD paint him to be.
The entire theme of MGSV is pretty much every characters becoming worse after the time skip. The only one we end up learning was better, is, ironically, Major Zero. We keep being told he's some monster when in truth he's a sad old man who completely lost control of what he created and live in complete regret isolated from the entire world
Speaking of him, Zero is one of the MG character I pity the most, he's genuinely a guy who wanted something good. I don't think he EVER hated Big Boss. The only thing he wanted was his friend back, and he was willing to do any sacrifice (while he was dying) to protect him from danger.

For the full MGSV experience, you have to play MGSsurvive

sah.jpg - 1280x720, 84.94K

It's been a while since I played the game, didn't he lock some woman in a barrel and turn her ghost into an AI?

We get it mgs is retarded

STANDING

just yanked some assets out of the unused lord of the flies scenario

kek

Where does Huey being twisted come from? I guess if you believe the whole "Hal in the cockpit" rubbish that's contradicted by, you know, the physical design and overall functionality of Sahelanthropus.

TFP.jpg - 638x302, 62.36K

At least he didn't die a virgin

still mad we never got the Island section and Sahal boss fight

I like to do the Paz side quest after finishing every mission and pretend it's the true epilogue of the game. Venom talking to himself about letting go and moving on out of your own accord feels really apropiate for a finale I think.
