Half of those had a shift from 2D to 3D starting with their third game. Or the 2D looked too basic with the first two. So new players see the first two games as too old looking and thus outdated to play. The others are seen as the first two being "janky" and not worth the time the third on offers. People are fickle and don't want to waste their time on a series that was seemingly finding its way with its initial entries

I played the first two final fantasy when the collection came out on PS1, and the first far out on Xbox, but for the rest of that list, never touch them.
First sets the concept and the second completes it. The third has the finished material and the impetus to apply it in a way that they couldn't imagine when they started.
