Why does it look so smoggy
Why does it look so smoggy
high dark elf population making it look like vvardenfell
See
whats wrong with a video game looking like a video game
whats wrong with a video game looking like a video game
Would be fine if the fog started near the first mountain and if it was tied to weather. This looks like the foggiest day I have ever seen while I can look outside right now and see everything very clearly without it looking like a video game.
obligatory
It's the antisoul fog. A trademark of jeetcode megacorp slop.
Damn moon sugar addicts
the fog is WAY too close, it takes much longer distances to start getting that effect
in OP's pic you should only start seeing a little fog on the most distant right-side treeline and somewhat heavier fog on the mountains behind them
Programming to make you okay with all the world becoming a smoggy shithole like india/china.
looks really shit and runs 100 times worse than modded
Consolenigger only issue
Smoke from the Oblivion gates commiting polution.
Unreal Engine fog is based on "physical" size and volume, but game worlds are shrunken in scale for gameplay purposes. The original game understood this, but the remaster was made by people who forgot it. So, to emulate the fog of the original game in Unreal, they cranked up the density, resulting in too much fog.
was hoping for atleast stable 120 on minimum settings with my 6900xt but nop i can't run oblivion again i'm back in 2008
the anti-soul gas factories
mod? or just tweaking the game's settings?
Console r.fog 0
Reminds me of Monster Hunter World, and how the game looked and ran better without the damn fog. Thanks anon.
Rain forests have a lot of moisture in the air.
A fresh sloppy coat of paint
And the normalfags cream their pants
It's called exponential height fog. Apparently it's a real thing.
Is there any way to make this permanent or do I have to type it into console everytime?
I found engine.ini, and added
[ConsoleVariables]
r.fog 0
and set the file to read only and it still has fog on launch.
Try the Oblivion.ini files in steamappscommonOblivion RemasteredOblivionRemasteredContentDevObvData
Nm fixed it. It should say systemsettings instead of console variables.
[SystemSettings]
r.fog=0
r.MotionBlurQuality=0
r.BloomQuality=0
r.DepthOfFieldQuality=0
r.LensFlareQuality=0
Save, mark as read only. Look so much better. HOW THE FUCK IS THIS A REAL THING? They literally have fog in-fucking-doors. What fucking jeet came up with this idea?
This shit is generally just a thing at very large distances, certainly at bigger ones than you'd usually have in vidya, and most certainly not just at a distance of a few meters. In vidya this shit looks more like some smoggy chink shithole most of the time.
the fog is meant to increase the sense of scale
the problem is that oblivion is meant to "feel" bigger than it actually is, so the fog starts closer to sell the idea
You know what else is meant to increase distance?
ACTUAL MAP SIZE
But these shitdevs spent the past 7 years focusing on GAYTRACING instead. Imagine if they actually built huge sized maps. The fog doesn't set in until many many many miles away. Picrel horizon is 230 miles. The Oblivion map is only 16 sq miles which isn't enough.
People would have complained the map is too big
imperials keep burning the altmeri
It's up.
ahh the smell of burning elven flesh in morning
smells like chicken, now off you go little altmeri child, off you go to the flame tempest chamber
Unplayable without Dreamscape Reshade
why is it so blurry?
That haze in your pic only happens within heavily forested areas. Mountains don't get it. They get real fog, or mist.
the original is just SO MUCH BETTER. zero stutter. everything is literally INSTANT LOAD TIMES on your ssd, this fucking remaster has slow as fuck load times on gen 4 nvme how the fuck
Nice bloom soup anon
where's your anti aliasing bro?
I'd rather have 120fps and UE5 stutters once in a blue moon than locked 30fps
Without the fog you realize how tiny the game is. It's better than Skyrim in a lot of ways because u can actually do everything fairly easily.
Particles coming outta the Oblivion gates, turning the friggin' mudcrabs gay
UE5 anti soul gas
Looks like shit son.
This looks like the foggiest day I have ever seen
It mustn't get very foggy where you live. That's like the least foggy winter morning around here
It's a message about how we should all stop polluting
i wanna cream inside konata-chan
gen 4 nvme
what is ram disk?
it literally dont fucking matter because the difference between a 6gb game vs a 120gb game. oblivion original always loads faster since a ramdisk loads faster than 6gb/s.
Still haven't seen any wearlions yet.
Everything on high
r.fog 0
Ayleid reshade
It's a simple setup, but it works.
I feel you but that looks normal where I live. there is a harbor near me that at least once a week gets so foggy you literally can't see your feet.
Can you not change the values? You're switching between too much and too little here.
hmm.... maybe a compromise?
r.fog to like 0.2 or something might be nice. Also have it alternate. Some days are clear and other days are foggy. I do like weather in my games.
Are the saved game files compatible with the old game?
Diminishing your ability too see depth makes the environment look like it has more depth
It does the opposite of that.
our gens version of the piss filter
TOP KEK
The fog is the worst of the problems for me. Cyrodiil is supposed to look the Swiss alps rather than the American alps.
Character creation is different so I highly doubt it. Why would you not want a fresh start?
That's the power of UE5
Trying to mimic
because the trees look really ass otherwise
AIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEE WHY DOESNT MY DARK FANTASY GAME LOOK LIKE A PICTURISQUE VACATION RESORT??????!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Elder Scrolls
dark fantasy
Niggawhat
It really do be like that
based and saved
Have you ever played Oblivion?
