The vast majority of all (role)players are the "funny sarcastic but definitely charismatic face of the party" type. They want to do good things that align with their own moral compass and, what they think, makes the most people happy. Yes, sometimes they are mean but usually they are nice. So now there is this companion that is clearly designed for the evil path that 90% of players will never see. Remember, on release, you had to do some weird fuckery to even get without purging the grove and it would break your game. Now you have to switch to non-lethal damage which hardly anyone even knows about. If you do straight up side with the goblins and purge the grove you lose Halsin, Karlach and even Wyll and nobody will do that. Of course Minty has next to no content because she is little more than a secret companion.
Her involvement in the story ends when you recruit her, but she still has tons of unique dialogue afterwards and she manages to be the most interesting companion in the game anyway
