It wasn't that bad

It wasn't that bad

Infact, it is one of the best games of all time. The combat system is astonishingly great

960x0 (2).jpg - 959x691, 95.93K

i loved the game but i never really liked the combat system of the remakes

How so? I think the ATB system is extremely fun. Somewhat lost patience with turn based games as I grew older. I thought it would be opposite

Redditfantasy 7: Redditbirth

i dunno, i found it sometimes unfair how the enemy can stunlock me and put their thumbs up in my ass but when i try the same they just attack through my combo

This but unironically, in case you meant it ironically
Platnium'd that shit and it was stupid hard

Best jarpg combat of all time
Best music of all time
Best jrpg party of all time

Yeah, I'm thinking it's the GOAT

Way too much bloat.

got raped in all fronts by Clair Obscure

Grim

I meant it unironically as well. I legitimately think it is one of the best games of all time. I loved the combat and the music the most and I am someone who is cynical as hell

most of it is optional

This is why FF will never get better. You shit eaters will continue to buy and praise them no batter how bad they become

most of it is optional

Just eat around the garbage, bro!

It was. It was criminally bad, actually.
And the combat was a massive downgrade to Remake.

Fucking shit game that deserved the flip it got.
Keeping seething while a good game like CO:E33 mocks you into oblivion.

The combat system is astonishingly great

It's okay, the targeting system is pretty bad, whether you use the lock-on or not it's pretty rough, also there are many times when I feel like my block was frame perfect and it still doesn't do the perfect block and I get hit instead, it works 90% of the time but it feels awkward. Then there's obviously the stuff other anon said, if you get hit by even one thing then you're going to get hit by the rest of the combo/hits whatever and there is nothing you can do. It's not a skill issue either, I beat the game 100% and you didn't, I didn't even use cheese builds, I hope they keep improving the battle system for the last remake instead of adding more needless mechanics on top of it.

Right back to work, huh OP?

I wonder what the people who make these identical 7R threads every single hour or every single day did while Anon Babble was down?

dfghj.png - 536x608, 569.2K

hey look its out 10,000,00th "wtf you guys were wrong this is the greatest game of all time" remake thread

very organic

Metaphor was flavour of the week meme game and no one will ever make a thread about it ever again, stay mad.

metaphor out of nowhere

Never beating the insecurity allegations

yeah unironically

im a software monkey so i was coding and in meetings for alignment. i dont get paid to post here though, i do it out of love of the game

And yet you mention it every day. Curious.

The irony.

Explain. I've not played Metaphor or any Persona games by the way, they don't appeal to me.

Gooner Fantasy 7 is peak
Japanese scientists crafted to extract coom in the most efficient manner possible

E33 has a better battle system
Also pc version of ff7 lacks vegetation

no mods to make her playable

not a perfect game yet

What does metaphor being gay fatlus junk have to do with FF7R being shit

it's difficult to defend trash and it's easy to deflect by bringing up other trash

Still she makes for some peak goonwave

Whatever you say, metaflop flopped

It's funny that, because Anon Babble was down for over a week, enough Anons have come back actually wanting to discuss video games that shitposters and low IQ 3rd worlders are getting confused over all of the actual video game threads being made.

Rebirth.png - 694x256, 352.2K

clair obscur is immediately more engaging than rebirth ever was, unfortunately

Now do E33
:)

Loved it
Peak gaming experience
Hype AF all the way
Not an ounce of slop

food analogy

Keyed

Yes, it was. Padded even worse than Remake. Ruined all sad and poignant scenes and injected torqued overreaction, irreverence and happiness everywhere. It's also a more scared product than Remake. They should've stuck to their guns rather than run damage control. The pacing and drive are awful. Overall nothing much happens, you're just effortlessly sight seeing, and thus are uninvested.

Super cool bromi

I didn't play the original

Explain.

I guess he couldn't. Schizo confirmed.

The games are good, everyone just hates everything else surrounding the remake trilogy and it's impossible to separate or ignore how much Squenix fucked everything up. Nojima just couldn't help himself with making it a meta nightmare, and people are frustrated at the borderline false advertising around Part 1 after the Midgar-only time janny rugpull and realizing it's gonna take 10 years for it to be finished, while having to endure all the multi timeline KH-tier dumpster fire plot twists while introducing all the extended universe FF7 cancer to what could have been a simple, straightforward remake.

the shizos will come out in full force now. I didnt play it either. Lol. Lmao

it was great. There werent enough pixels on ps1 to feel anything

e33 is turn based. turn based games are shit

E33 obliterated this trash.

But that can't be, nobody likes turn based games

She will be alive in the next game, and the reveal will break the internet.

Why didn't Rebirth's ending break the internet?

The combat is 11/10 but the side content is typical Ubislop

Because not that many people played it or cared enough to finish it

I see someone criticize 7R, I accuse them of being a Metaphor fan and remind them that Metaphor flopped.
Simple as.

Anyone else do this?

I do

I spent more than 100 hours pretty much only stopping to sleep to 100% the game on normal mode, the pacing is weird if you try to do everything the first time it's available, there's too many mini games, and the final boss is ass, but other than that it's 10/10.

My beautiful wife Aerith

The combat is the best part though.

The game and the story should be seen as a setup for the upcoming payoff I'd say, so we'll see what happens in part three, but having played Rebirth I'm personally assuming that the trilogy doesn't stray from the core thematic statements of the OG game: for example, all the weirdness in the staging of Aerith's death scene leads to Cloud having to acknowledge her death in part three and to say goodbye to her, or perhaps, given the multiple realities as the context of the story, to make an active choice to part ways with her by choosing one of the possible worlds where she is dead as an actual one.

For me it's the goon queen herself

flvolz2xfpoc1.jpg - 3840x2160, 463.45K

I didn't play the original

I did. I thought it was overhyped and didn't really like it. I liked Fallout and Baldur's Gate a lot more. Remake and Rebirth on the the other hand are nearly perfect games IMO.

You have good taste, anon.

Cause zoomers don't care about FF7, and most FF7fags prefer the OG, but if Aerith is saved in the final installment, OG purists might come around.

Me. I did it earlier. And will do it many times in future.

Aerith still dies, so why should that break the internet?

How am I supposed to be intimidated by Sephiroth (main villain btw) if I defeated him a trillion times before?

Repostan

Rebirth releases on Steam

tsundere anons play it and realize its the best game of all time

Anon Babble finally plays Expedition 33

realize its shit

We win again, bros, cant wait for the Switch 2 ports

That's the problem that comes up when marketing dictates narrative. Sephiroth is supposed to be so unthinkably stronger than Cloud that Sephiroth could not directly attack them because then the story would just end. By Cloud has boxed with Sephiroth twice. Technically 3 times. He's destroyed the embodiment of fate and beaten Sephiroth's weird time distortion thing. Cloud has spent the entire adventure mogging him. What the fuck does Cloud have left to overcome other than himself?

What the fuck does Cloud have left to overcome other than himself?

Saving Aerith.

The only thing I hear positive about this is the combat, and that it's just good
I watched my brother play for roughly 20 hours, and I don't see the appeal at all, ESPECIALLY having played the original
At this point I honestly can't decide if I'm a jaded purist, everyone is a shameless consoomer, or if it's a grotesque combination of the two
Either way, can't wait for ot 3 to come out, and square never releasing the sales of that one too
Wait for word from squeenix to start spamming again, or else not getting paid

How does it have so many waifus bros?

I'm sure they'll create the embodiment of naysayers of the previous two to defeat, because it's already off the rails, why the fuck not?

Because thay need to do any and everything possible to boost sales, because good faith isn't on the table anymore

it's good until you have to do the legendary combat simulator, then it's just fucking boring

dude what if we abused le unreliable narrator trope xd

Nomura needs to never be allowed in the industry again
worthless shitter

Should you be intimidated by him? Sephiroth is shown in the trilogy more as an antagonist with an antagonistic worldview to Aerith, rather than an evil villain. I think the authors just want average (you) to be interested in his point of view on what's going on in the world of the trilogy, and want you to see him as a character first and foremost, not a villainous scary villain.

That's all cool but Sephiroth is the villain of the games and if he is not intimidating the game is just 0/10. If I wanted to play something with a nonintimidating villain I would play Barbie or Care Bears or something like that.

Should you be intimidated by him?

Yes he's the villain

should you be intimidated by the villain?

Yes if you want me to play three long ass games where he's the antagonist and final boss of each one

I've never been intimidated by an antagonist in fiction in my life. Are you guys in third grade or something? I have always thought that a good antagonist is defined by the quality of his antagonistic views on a problem of the story, not by his intimidating or/and threatening aura lol.

So Aerith is dead in Rebirth is what you're saying?

Yes if the villain is not intimidating the game/movie is just by definition 0/10

I don't play RPGs for the combat unless they're DRPGs. If the story is shit the game is shit, end of.

Because thay need to do any and everything possible to boost sales, because good faith isn't on the table anymore

I can tell you've spent over 1000 hours of your life defending 7r online

Intimidating villains have been a thing since the dawn of fiction. You think Dracula became a long standing figure because people want to fuck him?

People who say Aerith is alive - stop using copium. The game is about coming to terms with loss. This applies to both the OG and the Remake project. Aerith is a loss to Cloud and the others, and she must remain so in order for the story to convey that message to the players. That the third installment will specifically address the theme of loss can even be gleaned from a comment the developers made at an event in Saudi Arabia about the story. She will not be revived.

You think Dracula became a long standing figure because people want to fuck him?

Judging by the plethora of women's love novels about vampires, the answer to your question is yes.

2024 initial release

2025 pc release

Goonfie joining is seriously hype as fuck
Perfect timing in a perfect game
I'm borrowing my brother's copy but I'm just gonna buy it myself so I can play when I go off grid innawoods this summer and play it smoking home grown kush

this will not be challenged

How does it have so many waifus bros?

I t could use even more waifus, to be completely honest. I can't get enough of them.

Based

Yuffie's body is kinda fucked up in your pic

Sephiroth in the OG is dead before the game even starts. Cloud, as a 16 year old Shinra grunt, killed him.

There's a bit of a difference between Cloud getting a lucky sneak attack in that could never be replicated and Cloud standing against him in a duel and winning

Sephiroth in the OG is dead before the game even starts

He isn't though

She will not be revived.

they said the same about zack lolz

I will now play your game

IANAW.jpg - 493x421, 43.97K

Playing Expedition 33 just made me realize how awesome Rebirth really is. Csnt believe people hyped that up...Rebirth truly is one of the, if not THE best game ever made

That didn't kill him. Cloud charges at him again after, Sephiroth stabs him and Cloud uses Masamune to launch Sephiroth into the lifestream which kills him.
He is and it's explicitly acknowledged several times in the OG. Sephiroth dies in the lifestream and continues to exert his will through it. He did in fact die though.

Not all of it, the character missions are nice

Sephiroth dies in the lifestream and continues to exert his will

So he didn't die.

Can't wait until some eceleb discovers E33, it becomes popular and then Anon Babble has to start hating it.

Expedition 33

Not filled with anime cringe

Actual innovation on gameplay

Does not run like garbage

50 dolla

Imagine losing to a bunch of baguette eating cuckolds.

If she doesn't get revived, the real themes of changing fate in the Remake series will have been frivolous and bad writing. It's huffing copium as well, that the Remake series has any shared interests with OG and especially its themes.

Not to mention the developers have done nothing but lying and misdirection in interviews to maintain surprise and uncertainty until now, because that's what they've cared about in practice.

In that sense, nobody dies in FF7 since they 'live' on in the lifestream (setting aside turning that lifeforce into mako). Aeris lived as well under that interpretation.

Amphibian Approved.

Sephiroth doesn't die in the Lifestream. He lives on, because Jenova Cells don't dissolve into the Lifestream. It's what allows him to swim through it and learn its secrets and with those overpower Jenova in five years.

Play Witcher 3 so you learn what interesting side quests are actually like

Yup. Loved the one in TW3 with the guy who was outlawed for being gay. Powerful... POWERFUL, I tell you. It's early on and prepares you for the rest of the game excellently

The missing achievements are the brutal VR challenges arent they?

Changing fate is the real theme of a game.

If the theme of the game is changing fate, it doesn't mean that the thematic message of the story has to be “Fate can be changed”. Purely logically, it could be the opposite: “Fate cannot be changed”. What a cute delusion.

Boring world, Belle Epoque Paris wouldve been a better setting

And it's so successful it has to be shilled in completely unrelated threads constantly

Persona really did do irreplaceable damage to UI design, huh?

135358725.jpg - 1821x1022, 530.16K

They want us to fight fate.

Kind of cute for a darkie.

What worries me is that because of this Sephiroth literally cannot be defeated for real but they probably want to end this trilogy with him being defeated for good. I mean, the original basically did already because 500 years later humanity is still there. That means Sephiroth has to be and will somehow be convinced to stop and I can't think of a scenario where that happens that is not cringe.

is a new theme unique to the remake series

Isn't

fighting fate

the tagline for FFXIII and the name of its final boss theme?
Pretty unique concept Square.

Based Kinobirth enjoyer.

see

Not to mention the developers have done nothing but lying and misdirection in interviews to maintain surprise and uncertainty until now, because that's what they've cared about in practice.

Such an antisemitic game

We need more pro 7R anti E33 posts in these threads

Did you really think that you were fighting fate by purchasing their 70 dollar linear game? Which part made you go "it's like I'm really fighting fate literally!"?

Certain shitposters are probably still typing to themselves in notepad and haven't yet realized the chan is back

The constant barry falseflags and ex-ubisoftshit hired shills and their campaigns, all of it made me respect SE and the effort they put into FF7 Rebirth even more.

Yes, and in this fight fate may win, and then the heroes will have to give in, for example, accepting that some fateful events are imminent anyway, and accepting the imminent death of loved ones, despite all the copius shots huh

You mean the optional dialogue option you get during a main quest during the tutorial? Thats not a side quest, play the side quests so you get some perspective about how shitty the side quests in Rebirth truly are

Wow it's part of the main quest, that's even worse. No wonder I forgot, not worth remembering that game

based

You know what this stupid shit reminds me of? The Terminator movies. Where there's a clear path things are supposed to go down. And they keep doing the same thing trying to avoid judgement day. But they keep retconning and ignoring shit to justify more and more of these movies being made. One movie will establish that we avoided Judgement Day and our futures are what we make it. And then one movie later they'll say that fate cannot be changed and that we need to accept that. Turning the entire narrative into confusing mush that means nothing because at the end of the day the only reason these movies exist is to show Arnold Schwarzenegger with a half robot face. I can't wait for Final Fantasy 7: Remix where Cloud goes back in time as a Sephiroth possessed psycho and Claudia has to take up the Buster Sword with Ifalna by her side because Omni Aerith is still playing 7D chess with the same evil bishie for the hundredth time.

terminator.jpg - 1280x720, 120.54K

Cloud saved the world though.

We will live to see a day when zoomers genuinely wax nostalgic for this colossal piece of shit. Unbelievable, I hope this site dies for real before Gen A reaches adulthood

I had fun enough with it, but the side content is content for the sake of content, and I felt it really shit the bed hard from the temple onwards and missed part of why the death scene works so well. I played the OG for the first time before Remake and Rebirth, and I'm glad I did.

The big multiple final fight should not have been as long and drawn out as it was. The OG just having 1 fight and her theme playing had so much more impact, showing less is more.

What's the betting they have the very last dark with Cloud and Sethiroth gets drawn out over an hour with multiple fights? I can fucking see it now.

fighting in some not dark void, probably "space"

cloud struggling

party somehow jump in

big long drawn our fight lasting 3 hours long

ends with a dual omnislash from cloud and zack

May as fucking well have the Shinra Middle Manager show up to scold Sephiroth for skipping out on work while they're at it.

Remake part 4 is just going to be the final boss of the original stretched out over 100hrs

isn't the third cd of the og FFVII literally JUST the final boss fight?

still shove side content into it

it's all minigames vs sethiroth

Remake Part 4 is going to be Advent Children Remake, but a video game this time.

"The Commander is hot now"

drops the higher-up hardass upon receiving the award

I immediately fired up SD cause I know there wouldn't be any art of her.

Wow it's part of the main quest, that's even worse. No wonder I forgot, not worth remembering that game

actually I think too much happened, I wish the entire game was sight-seeing with no plot whatsoever, would have pushed it from a 6/10 to a 9/10
