And it's not even at the halfway mark. "Stop Killing Games" initiative just goes to show there's not enough interest for this shit.

i gave up playing multiplayer slop like a decade ago lmfao dont care
Faggots will have what they deserve. companies hate the fact that people have the freedom to replay 99.9% of past games with no repercussions.
The future is bleak and companies will get away with forcing people to re-buy the same game over and over again for profit.
It's not alla bout multiplayer, faggot.
It happened to single player games too, Darkspore comes to mind, for example.
Because most people just don't care until it's some SPECIFIC game they do care about, but then it's too late. Basically, the issue is majority can't see beyond tomorrow.
Which games, apart from poe2 and diablo 4 gets affected by this?
enjoy your slop LMFAO
is case in point.
It's too bad.
I voted myself back then, I at least hope my country's vote % was high because it was at 40 to 50% something back then.
i play almost exclusively solo dev indieshit that are about as likely to be live service games as you cattle are likely to play good games LMFAO
post one live service game that is worth saving
you totally missed the point but I was kinda expecting that from how you write.
All of them so we can laugh in the face of companies for years to come.
Only the protestant countries showed up for this.
pls give up it's hopeless just ignore it
good morning sir
The EU is already aware something rotten is going on in vidya, as shown by the predatory practices debacle 2 weeks ago. Time's running out on publishers getting away with theft.
Even in the very unlikely event the commission doesn't look into the stuff SKG is clamoring for, you can submit the same initiative as many times as you want.
i accept your concession cattle :DD
Imagine Sony being forced to give up their Concord servers because of some bullshit law so that 12 people can keep playing it while the rest meme it to oblivion.
there was no debate to begin with, faggot.
2/10 bait made me reply at least.
yeah theres no debating because your live service cattle ass already lost :DD
property rights should only count for publishers
good morning saar
If I paid for it, it's mine. No, it's not a service regardless of what an eula says. A publisher taking my purchase away or rendering it inoperable is either theft or planned obsolence. Both practices that happens to be illegal in 1st world countries.
I think there was barely any publicity made for it. Except Ross, no big influencer from EU ever spoke about it, which goes to show why there weren't any huge numbers.
If I paid for it, it's mine
cool it with the antisemitism.
Many retards itt, it was never about preserving some soulless slop, it's about punishing and raping back the fucking giant faggy jewish game companies that have raped and destroyed this industry. If the fucking commie EU bureaucrats are gonna impose some gay laws on the common man, might aswell use them to impose laws on the rich subversive fuckers that'll sell out everything for a few more shekels
We know. Bad actors are at it again.
it's about punishing and raping back the fucking giant faggy jewish game companies that have raped and destroyed this industry
Who cares? Let them. Personally I think the customer deserve what they fucking get for buying into that shit, burn it all to the ground. Indies are far better games anyway, I want total AAA-consoomer death.
gets shilled by all kinds of big youtubers
barely moves
why are people so lazy to write their names online?
How many of these EU petitions work? Because I think the bigger problem, aside from lack of publicity, is that it seems like most people aren't even aware this exists at all.
That line of thought never brought anything good. Eventually it'll come to bite you in the ass somehow.
If companies starts to realize they can get away with selling you half assed shit, they'll subtly try to sell shit that's even more half-assed. It's a slippery slope? Not really, it's already happening with common electric appliances that are planned to break barely after the 3 years warrancy expires, forcing you to buy another one.
KWAB
You missed the part where I don't partake in the AAA industry. Good riddance, hopefully you consoomers get burned enough so you stop funding that shit. Until then cry me a river because I don't care.
I think the bigger problem, aside from lack of publicity, is <proceeds to describe effects of lack of publicity>
why are people so lazy to write their names online?
It's funny i signed it when it came out and iirc when I just entered my id number it filled out the whole thing, so the EU already has your details, you don't even have to do that.
People stopped caring for ownership when they started using Steam.
I should have been more specific. It's an education problem. People need to know their civic rights and duties in any society.
what part of "making the big industry pay for their evil" you don't get?
Ah I see now, yeah that I agree.
Campaign fail imminent
Proles will never own a video game, let alone a house ever again
Ads rampant
WW3 imminent
Ross is in Poland which will be the first to be attacked, he will own nothing under Russian occupation too
It's over. Pirate Software won
Indies are far better games anyway
Yes, tell them trans xister, I loove my indie pixelart metroidvania about depression and trans issues. I(transheart)Idies
what part of "making the big industry pay for their evil" you don't get?
What part of "I don't give a fuck and I hope you get what you fucking deserve" don't you get?
Companies are scared shitless of this passiongbecause it will mean putting Denuvo out of business.
I'd sign 10 times more myself if it was a guarantee that shitty company will go bankrupt.
Viewer base is majority American
"You guys have zero consumer rights, you can't participate in this at all. Anyways, lets talk about a European initiative."
It was over before it even began.
I hope you get what you fucking deserve
thanks, I too would like that to pass :')
still funny that anyone on this site ever thought
GAMERS! WE DEMAND GOVERNMENT REGULATION OF VIDYA!
would be appealing to anybody
ww3 imminent
you dumb fucks have been saying this for so long
The campaign itself may fail unless some sleeper non-english speaking european youtube gamer with millions of subscribers brings this up, but the campaign failing doesn't necessarily mean the goals will not be achieved. There is already EU people looking into always-online drm and intrusive launchers spying on players even in singleplayer games, so any naysayers are most likely amerinegroes who cannot into ownership rights or just plain regular retards who love to get fucked in the ass by corporations.
b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-but I don't even play AAA games! I only play indie games!
You bet your brown pajeet ass this bullshit will not stop at video games. There already exists fucking dishwashers that need to be connected to the internet to work.
gets shilled by all kinds of big youtubers
Name 10.
A passing mention while talking about something quasi related doesn't constitue "shilling".
Ross is a well meaning idiot that thought word of mouth alone would be enough, even though people barely socialize anymore and odds are high "you'll get around to it" if some dude you've never met irl tells you to look at something on the internet. Something like this requires at least something vaguely resembling a media strategy.
why are gamers lazy
Truly a mystery
All commerce already happens on government regulated terms, so the campaign is to make sure the seller -in this case is vidya companies- keep their end of the deal and not fuck the customer in the ass. It's not free market if corporations can lobby for laws to make sure people buying things on the market have no rights to even own the things they buy.
Nu Hitman.
are scared shitless of this passing
No they aren't. There are actual initiatives that do pass and then get bogged down in court. Getting the EU court to notice your pleas is just stage 1 of them giving a shit. You need to be outrageously lucky and defend environmentalism or social justice to even have a chance. Ross is fighting an uphill battle he's unlikely to win by choosing this site to defend vidya.
Same was said about digital refunds, that it was supposedly impossible and nothing ever happens, but now we've had steam refunds for almost 10 years. Same thing happened with lootboxes which used to be in almost every new game for few years, but then got regulated because it was predatory bullshit. These corporations trust that people like you will become the majority and will suck and gobble on every penis they push through the gaming hole, but luckily most gamers are not like you.
There are actual initiatives that do pass and then get bogged down in court
good morning sir
This isn't lawmaking. This is about getting the EU to enforce already established law. Your strawman is irrelevant.
No, you're wrong. There is interst but people are preoccupied with a ton of other shit in real life.
Russia being a shithole and starting wars
Trump making America into a shithole and starting trade wars
Israel bein a shithole and doing genocide
Normies are way too distracted to care about videogames right now.
Helldivers 2.
Jannies did their best to kill any discussion in here back when it was new.
I like Ross, however hearing that they needed 1 million signatures all but torpedoed any chances for this to successfully be cleared.
That said, It has sparked alot of independent movements with some of them actually making some impacts.
Look forward to seeing more Game Dungeons and will begrudgingly drum up some enthusiasm for when "The Movie" comes out.
Baltic countries are the next target, but Russia can only attack them after the war in Ukraine ends. EU countries would pour more aid towards Ukraine if they were smart. The US can just step back without losing much, but an attack on Latvia, Estonia or Lithuania would end the European Union as a concept at best and cause a European-wide (possible world-wide) war at worst.
All of baltics are in nato. Russia can only bully Ukraine because they're on equal standing when it comes to infrastructure, but Russia would get absolutely annihilated if they ever dared to show their slanted eyes and curved swords on first world soil. Russia is literally 99% dark skinned chinese-islamic hybrid mongrels who could be destroyed with a bar of soap.
More like there's not enough money behind it to push for publicity.
At this point Trump can just say that he won't help NATO countries and no one would be very surprised.
i play exclusively roguelike deckbuilder #41321 or ps1 "immsersive shooter with anime girl" #2134
i feel bad for you desu
Nice disinfo
Pay your fair share welfare queen
Russia cant even beat Ukraine 3 day military operation btw
No they wouldn't get annihilated.
They installed Trump to have him sabotage NATO and be ready to refuse Article 5 once Baltics get attacked.
Europe's on its own and it is nowhere near ready to keep up with the arms production or manpower that Russia is shitting out.
Also the goal is Suwalki gap, which is between Poland and Lithuania. So Poland has to be next in order to seal off baltics from NATO and eat them.
video games?
AAA-consoomer lives in a fantasy world shaped by memes
Many such cases!
Nah I dont play current AAA shit I play old past AAA shit and emulated games you're the one playing "AI Slop Supermarket Simulator" and shit like Schedule One
AAA-consoomer lives in a fantasy world shaped by memes
Many such cases!
That's just because it quite literally isn't trying. So far only thirdies have died on the Russian side, no white people, and their industry hasn't shifted to war production even now. They're winning an attrition war that they don't go all in simply because they're not retarded enough to commit forces that should be reserved for a large scale war against NATO.
lel
What manpower? They're using chinese mercenaries and telling whatever conscripts they can rustle up to bring their own tampons to the battlefield so they have something to plug bulletholes with when they get shot.
it quite literally isn't trying
The true 4D chess move is to pretend like you're trying and then when they least expect it, you strike!
2 more weeks comrades
no white people
Russia has no white people. Even Putin (he/they) is considered to be person of color amongst his hammer sickle waving supporters in non-EU parts of Europe.
There is no ongoing conscription in Russia nigga, this is all people from fringe areas of Russia getting conned into signing a contract promising life changing money but in which they are sure to die.
Ukraine in the meantime is fighting for dear life with anyone they can drag off the streets. It's just a demo for what life in the rest of Eastern Europe is about to become.
Its just commie bullshit, people aren't entitled to other person work.
There is also no poverty in Russia, no hiv/aids epidemic, every house has running water, and the president is not ex-kgb communist loving globalist. Sure. It's just all great and dandy over there. Just three more days.
They installed Trump
I wonder who "they" are?
Russia owns Trump's ass since decades, why do you think he's effectively withdrawing from Europe and sabotaging Ukraine, and he's now doing shit he has not even mentioned once in his campaigns like sperging out over Greenland or Panama in this kind of a hurry?
spouting the brussels talking point word-for-word
grim
There's just not enough people who play games, care about this and then also specifically care about signing the petition.
Pretty much everything in this EU petition thing that even got over the threshold is environmentalist stuff.
To get over the threshold, you would somehow need to convince people to sign that don't understand conditional hypotheticals and that means that this needs to be happening to them specifically at this very moment.
Stop Killing Games would arguably be better if it was more generalist and outright killed the subscription service practices of companies like Autodesk, Adobe, Nvidia or Windows by forcing them to provide and honor lifetime licenses with indefinite maintenance or the tools to ensure compatibility and maintenance.
No one cared about lootboxes until Star Wars either. Most politicians and voters are room temperature IQ.
He's not referring to the fact that people don't know about SKG, just the fact that they don't know about EU petitions as a whole.
Software as a service is killing all games because the tools to make games are also being sold as services that are getting worse all the time. The Unity debacle nearly killed Unity as a viable game engine for instance.
The Trump-Biden-Trump rotation was a gambit launched by Big Dementia to safeguard the pensions (and thus the payouts for drugs) of people who are too medically incompetent to vote.
I told you guys to draw and request more porn of that pink haired girl to draw more attention to the cause, you didn't listen, now get fucked by the big corpo.
Pointing out that Trump is non-sensically shidding and farding while saying the n-word while just so happening to sabotage the dam holding vatniggers from Europe is now repeating Brussels talking points
Name 10 games where this is a real problem.
some retard is butthurt that his old ass live service game got shut down and is trying to bring it back using the umbrella term "games" not realizing everyone knows what he's doing. People don't care for dishonest instigating cowards
Name 1 heterosexual thought you've had in the last 10 years.
probably 10 different racing games lmao
No one with a brain cares about live-service crap.
can't answer a simple question
KEK
If you play online-only games you deserve to have your money stolen.
What's with you gays always thinking things are simple and loose? Life is not a sex party, you weirdo.
Because this movement is a terrible idea and would only make games worse.
I want to give more control to gubbermint!
Fuck off
stop being gay and name 10 games needed to be saved by this gay petition
You want government to handle the security and stability of financial platform, payment, taxes, shop infrastructure, but having government make sure the deal is secure all the way to the end is where you draw the line?
Concord
The government should be given less control over private businesses, not more. Every time the government gets involved in something, it kills innovation, makes it harder for new people to enter the market, introduces unnecessary red tape, and once you hand over more of your control to the government you are NEVER getting it back.
You know how you actually stop these companies from doing these practices?
STOP BUYING THEIR GAMES
It's that simple. If people found these strategies as morally abhorrent and objectionable as they say, they'd stop paying for these games. I knew this movement was a stupid idea the moment it was introduced, but the lack of signatures proves it.
All of the non-open-source tools used to make games are turning towards live service crap.
Unless you want all of your future games made in Blender, Gimp and Godot, you'd best care about the enshittification of western software businesses.
and once you hand over more of your control to the government you are NEVER getting it back.
Apparently you missed the last 45 years of neoliberalism and privatization.
lolberts won, this is the world you voted for
Sonar shock is one of the most kino games I've played this year and it was made on godot, sorry if I won't cry over ue-slop disappearing
This is only necessary in the first place due to the government overreach concerning IP law that makes maintaining abandonware with mods, piracy and workarounds a massive potential grey area. The US was stupid enough to cave to WIPO and now we have to deal with the consequences.
Sure we could rampantly deregulate trademarks, patents and copyright, but good fucking luck getting any Frog-infiltrated government to go along with that.
The government is providing major publishing companies and other IP holding companies with monopolies, bargaining power and ease of consolidation, so they need to be burdened with appropriate checks and balances.
Doesn't have to be.
It's only happened to shit games so far, so I don't care
Breakfast, subshuman.
No. Because it's about stopping it from happening. Not being sad it already did.
Elite Dangerous
Helldivers2
Tom Clancy's The Division 1 & 2
WH0K Darktide
Quake Champions
Hitman: World of Assassination
All of the new Call of Doodies
Steep
Ghost Recon Breakpoint
For Honor
Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown
These are just some from top of my head. All decent to great games.
I wish they were lazy enough to not buy games they're supposedly boycotting.
In this case I think it's a mix of that and people not knowing that some games they "buy" will be deactivated. Which is why even just putting a label that says that on the box/storefront is better than what we have.
abandonware
It's up to the companies or successor companies to maintain their shit. If they want bankrupt, try contacting people to see you can get the rights
good fucking luck getting any Frog-infiltrated government to go along with that.
I don't care what a nanny state is doing
they need to be burdened with appropriate checks and balances.
They already are. Sell shit to people or go bankrupt. If people don't like your shit, they don't buy, simple. The only time the government should ever get involved with something is direct injury and/or loss of life as a neutral third party to force the other party to comply with the ruling. Every other reason has a contract, and you if agree to the terms, knowing full well the game can be turned off at any moment, that's on you.
So you ARE signing it.
I also like Blender and Godot, but it's a simple fact that SaaS governs most of the industry for proprietary software.
It's good to have multiple stable options in case of failure of the single viable option.
Sure you might not care about the latest abortion of Unreal Engine, but there are an array of tools that still fall under the live service umbrella, now or in the future, that are used in making quality games.
It's up to the companies or successor companies to maintain their shit. If they want bankrupt, try contacting people to see you can get the rights
Intellectual Property is a tool of the nanny state. Maintaining software is considered a non-viable business model by most major holding companies and NPEs especially, so the tools for maintaining that software must be made available or the independent creation thereof must be decriminalized.
zoomer that thinks he's le ebin aloof and cool by punctuating every reply with LMFAO blew into Anon Babble
i guess word that Anon Babble is back up is already reaching normgroid spaces. it was nice while that peace lasted
if there were more important industry people pushing it, it might make the media rounds a bit more regularly.
Unfortunately Ross himself is a poisoned origin point because he's admitted multiple times over the years to being a cheapskate who doesn't buy games until years after their release, and nearly always when heavily discounted. Then goes on to admit he pirates and emulates most of the shit he does Game Dungeons on.
sorry about your shit taste LMFAO
zoomer
there's a 90% chance he's over 30
These "private" businesses are already getting government subsidies. The government is already so much involved and game company lobbyists meddling with governments that Ubisoft and Electronic Arts might as well be alphabet agencies by now. The only missing link is that the government doesn't hold these companies responsible for what they're doing with that government support, and that is the problem.
Everything these game companies do is helped and issued by governments, so the "control" you're talking about is what the governemnt is supposed to be doing in the first place which is make sure the game companies hold their end of the deal when selling games.
We're not talking about two dudes exchanging games for money at comic book convention, but gigantic corporations with government funding selling games to customers and then fucking over the customers. They're fucking over the customers only because they can, and they can do that because the government is not making sure the company is not pulling the old switcheroo on the customer.
STOP BUYING THEIR GAMES
Well whoop de fucking doo. Let's just avoid buying those gam- oh wait! We can't because there is no informed decision to made! Show me one example of a game with expiration date on it. The only way to find out which games do this stupid always online shit is to read about it on the internet, and in this age of digital distributioning there is no way to tell if companies will implement that shit retroactively.
How about instead of jumping through all these hoops to not get fucked in the ass, we make it illegal for the companies to fuck us in the ass?
Unfortunately Ross himself is a poisoned origin point because he's admitted multiple times over the years to being a cheapskate who doesn't buy games until years after their release, and nearly always when heavily discounted. Then goes on to admit he pirates and emulates most of the shit he does Game Dungeons on.
It's a bit of a "Chicken and the Egg" situation. Most people wouldn't care about the long term availability of a game's functionality unless they themselves play old games.
"How would you feel if your game no longer worked?" just isn't a question that most of the population can contemplate without simply stating "But my game does work".
TOTAL GAME DEATH
START KILLING GAYMES
TOTAL INDUSTRY COLLAPSE NOW
I'm stating that I don't fucking care, total AAA death
I haven't bought ONE of them.
But there's nothing exclusive about the games they can apply the model to. So whether you're buying it or not, they could apply it to any new game, including one that otherwise wouldn't have been shit, killing it.
aka bad games
you're so cool zoomer-kun, i bet your friends think so too
TOTAL LIVESERVICE DEATH
i am all for sony being forced to suck dick like that, it'll teach them to not make gay retarded nigger shit for tranny faggots ever again
How do you conflate asking someone who is in control something, with "giving them control"?
You think you just "gave me control" by asking me to fuck off? Because I'm the one with the power to decide if I actually do that, whether you said it or not.
It turns out that when people are scared about their finances, ongoing wars and conflicts that are amplified via increasingly unhinged social media posts, and a general feeling of malaise that the better times are behind us that no one cares about rallying around some retard living in filth that thinks being able to play a decade old ubislop game is a human right.
team fortress 2, but that one already has its sdk files released anyways
there are starving children in africa and therefore your rights don't matter
This is what socialists unironically believe
100%
all that lootboxslop
decent to great
holy fuck, total "game" death NOW
Why don't they get some big ecelebs to shill it?
Playing "The Crew" is a privilege, not a right.
Easier said than done
Right of ownership is one of the cornerstones of western civilization, commie.
you'll have to keep your servers online forever or we'll fine you
What if it's just cheaper to take the fine on the long run as it will be?
And they paid for it.
This is true. It's all the millenials fault for not getting violent during Occupy Wall Street.
You have a license to launch the client. You don't have a perpetual license for Ubisoft to keep their servers up forever (a form of slavery).
Let bad games die.
None of the lootbox shit is going to be a problem when running on private server, you dumb negroid. You can play TF2 on modded private servers with all the cosmetics and weapons unlocked, it would not be any different for any other game if we were allowed to host our own games.
>you'll have to keep your servers online
All it would do is require them to provide either a date for the game's shutdown when you buy it or some way to keep the game functional. They don't have to keep anything online.
People also pay for the privilege of drinking in a bar. That does not entitle you to drink at the bar in perpetuity.
In a perfect world we could send our hordes of spear horsemen to Ubisoft and take over the server hosting slaves and make their our server hosting slaves, but in this world the best we can do is have the european union crack the whip as a reminder that the slaves better come up with a way to self-host the game before the slaves get too old and tired to keep it running themselves
tries analogy
fails
How many times are you going to go through this.
"No no it's not a restaurant this time!"
How do you figure the same arguments, that already raped you to where you had to leave the thread and hope no one saw it when you enter the next one, doesn't apply this time?
Not what the receipt says.
Let bad game companies die
you have been cutoff
stop going
bar goes bankrupt and closes down
what now bitch?
You have to maintain your product or we release the source code as AGPLv3
No copyright protection if you do not provide the government with source code to upload
Total NPE death, fuck publishers.
Powerfantasies are nice and all but sometimes it's better to stick with reality and what's actually possible
Yes, unfortunately IP law will continue to flourish as makework for law firms and really halfassed clerical work, alongside being a vehicle for extortion and censorship. You can't really dismantle it without going up against a lot of well established interest groups with a lot of pull.
If you got your wish nobody would make online games anymore. Which is fine by me but I have a feeling that the people upset about this want to play those online games
EL OH EL BYE EU FAGGOTS. America wins again.
"How would you feel if your game no longer worked?" just isn't a question that most of the population can contemplate without simply stating "But my game does work".
I don't know why, but I heavily feel that this is the exact same reasoning of the prisoner folks for that "breakfast" type of question.
first they came for AAA titles, and I did not speak out...
Yeah the indie scene is about to have an explosion of live service games
Like I was playing Ctrl Alt Ego earlier today and you know what I thought? Why aren't my brainwaves connected to the developers basement server so he can see how to perfect his puzzle design, meanwhile I get a cool skin out of it
but an attack on Latvia, Estonia or Lithuania would end the European Union as a concept at best
honestly it probably has a chance of strengthening it as a concept because nobody wants a nu-soviet union on the continent except tankies who'd be thrown into gulags anyway.
Notice how the sane, well versed post gets utterly ignored by those against it ITT.
...tankies still exists after 2023?
why wouldnt they, what happened in 2023
you joke about it, but watch the monkey's paw curl and it happens and you think retards wouldn't pay a subscription to get neurally linked to toby fox's anus? or whoever the faggots that make hollow reddit knight are? get real, these niggers pay to gogbble up any shitslop
Yeah the indie scene is about to have an explosion of live service games
not what I was referencing you ignorant fuck.
Sorry for your AAA titles bro better luck next time
sad. I'd sign it but I'm a American
I thought the Ukraine invasion was in 2023, instead is 2022. Fuck how fast the time passes.
The saying was to imply that shit will eventually hit even indie titles, fag.
Yes and they are still useful idiots like in the 1980s
And I was mocking that idea, which I'm sure sounds reasonable in the brains of an AAA consoomer but reality is quite different
Do you have brain problems
Gamers deserve everything they get
he think only multiplayer games are online only
I signed at the start but had no hopes the mass man would actually do it. Democracy is a joke
the issue is perpetual copyright of all media
"saving games" is shallow as a puddle in terms of scope and actually addressing the underlying issue.
just download roms and emulators like the we've always done, fuck em
I have interest in the opposite. I don't blame companies for churning out live service crap, I blame the customer for falling for it time and time again. So the more live service games out there the better. Choke in the shitbed you made for yourself.
I'm already doing all of that, it would have been nice if for a change the big companies would have had to actually get serious in making games, since if this passes, their old games will be a constant reminder that something already "this" good enough exists and the only way to do better is to actually put effort into the next title, since removing old title from the market would have been no longer an option.
your no gonna live in any world any more bitch! Hah!!! *rushes at you and punches you in the stomach sends you flying* your not getting away.. *teleports behind you and knocks you into the air with lunar somersault kick* now your finished bitch! *leaps into air above you then slams you back down into the ground with meteor slam of true destruction* should of kept your mouth shut....
I blame the customer for falling for it time and time again.
it's already been proven customers never make an informed purchase and cmpanies actually take advantage of that.
Passing a law that makes sure everyone have a better service out of even the shadier of companies is only a net positive for everyone but I guess this is a difficult reasoning for someone that comes from a land where everyone thinks for themselves, a.k.a. Land of the Free.
Ross has emailed several EU-based content creators. None (0) have replied to him.
Nice assumption bitch but I'm from Europe. Nobody with a shit taste in vidja gets any sympathy from me as far as buying live service shit is concerned, choke on the corpo cock for all I care.
How did you assume I'm on the side of corporations while I want them to be regulated more so that they couldn't fuck the customers in the ass? Do you have reading comprehension issues or what?
Show us one example of a singleplayer game that clearly states that the game will stop functioning once the servers shut down, and then I will agree that customers are stupid for making informed decision to buy a game with planned obsolescence. I know you can't, because those labels and stickers and warnings don't exist, and you're just being a smug faggot with nothing helpful to say.
I didn't assume anything, stop conjuring up things in your head and then getting mad at them. Concession accepted btw
If you are from Europe, then how come your way of reasoning is copied from toonami anime villains? All you do is cross your arms and go like
hmpf, foolish customers... you should've known better when buying that game 10 years ago that suddenly stopped working because ubisoft got tired to host the main server...
Except you don't sound like dark and mysterious anime villain at all. You sound like a faggot who likes to glug glug on cum until your poop turns jellyfish color.
is "concession accepted" the new form of saying "please stop replying to me I'm having issues coming up with something witty to reply"?
I'll stop replying to you in any case.
All of them. Each of them are relevant or nostalgic to someone, and have some sort of historical context adding to a larger picture. Some see games more than just being time-wasters for normies
I'm sure you'll be right back after the voices in your head tell you so
ok bros
I know what to do
SHILL IT TO SOME E-CELEB LIKE ASMONSHART AGAIN
GORILLIONS WILL SIGN
uh anon I dont think you understand. Killing games is what the industry WANTS.
Remember that if SKG was completely hopeless, shitters and jannies wouldn't have seen the need to completely nuke all threads about it by posting CP and moving threads to Anon Babble
Captcha:TAKTX
can we just accept that political movements don't work and violence is the only answer for change?
You can do it, eurobros. For freedom and local servers.
just goes to show there's not enough interest for this shit.
For starters, I never gave a shit about The Crew as a game. So whatever. What else is on the stop killing games list? Some NBA games? A Gran Turismo racing game? Some Mega Man X mobile game? A few other UBI Soft games that feature online components?
I'm sure in some of these cases it comes down to licensing issues. Sports games are always a problem due to player contracts. Gran Turismo always has licensing issues due to all of the car manufacturers. I guess this is one of those things where it hasn't affected me in any meaningful way. So I haven't signed the petition. I'm sure there are some arguments to be made for some of these games.
based industry, it should commit seppuku already then
What else is on the stop killing games list?
Every game made from this point on is at risk of having the business model applied to it, if not stopped.
Have we gotten a bingo in this thread yet?
Every game made from this point on
So...nothing of any value
All of these threads will bingo that card every single time, because every single time the handful of geniuses will march in to write their moronic hot takes thinking they're the first one declare how little they care if AAA games die
No, you're thinking of the last 15 years.
Anon Babble jannies moved them to Anon Babble
Anon Babble jannies moved them to Anon Babble, Anon Babble or just deleted them and insisted they aren't politics
with jannies like this you just can't win
It was always kinda doomed. Like there just isn't gonna be enough interest when the games you're trying to save are all commercial failures that no one misses anyway. The Stop Killing Games initiative is a call for integrity, but that's kind of all it is. Most people don't care about things that don't affect them directly, and a bunch of shitty failed games that they have no interest in are not gonna affect them.
Being familiar with the obvious flaws in what you want to happen is not an argument against those flaws
You'd be an idiot to think the EU actually cares. If it were up to a hag like von der leyen videogames shouldn't even exist.
That's what happens when you spam Anon Babble with your shitty petition.
euros talked all that shit and this is the result huh?
If the flaw is something along the lines of complaining how difficult it's for the game companies to make their online reliant games be playable offline, then that's a problem of the game companies, not the movement. It's not the movement's fault if game companies have poisoned the well and then can't figure out how to remove the poison if the poison shouldn't be there in the first place.
Even pencilpushers loves an easy win, and it doesn't get much easier than this when games are already defined as products and the unfair contract directive voids all eula bullshit.
eula isn't unfair though.
