I recently sat down with Rocket Knight and Landstalker on the megadrive.
They were ok but far too flawed.
-RK had brilliant moments but didn't seem to know what genre it wanted to be, so it was flip flopping mechanically every other level. And the constant auto scrolling sections were annoying.
-Landstalker was almost a fantastic game but the isometric platforming is god-awful. They could have fixed it by just adding shadows to the moving platforms, but without them you can't tell where the fuck you're supposed to jump.

Dark Souls is the gayest, most repetitive trial and error time wasting shit I've ever played
It's no wonder the games industry sucks so much now when it's what nudevs hold up as an example of a good game

For Hades, it was carried purely by the amount of interactions everything had with each other. Hollow Knight just comes off as a shitty fusion of metroidvania and a souls clone, and the """so deeep" presentation plaguing many indie games put me off more. Also doesn't help the devs think they're Rockstar and can just go silent for years like they always produced gold and to just trust them to give 0 updates and hope it will be good.

The vast majority of quests in Morrowind are just filler to add flavour to locations. The game's more about exploring the open world and dicking around with the magic system than fulfilling someone's errand list. Unlike later Elder Scrolls games there aren't any dungeons/areas locked behind quests, and you can just happen to stumble upon important locations with legendary artifacts inside them in your exploration.
