Would a dexless warrior even work in classic? I feel like they were only really enabled after years of maple weapons and needed some really aggressive scrolling on gear to actually hit mobs. And they’d be exceptionally squishy, wouldn’t they?

I mostly played dexless sin/luckless mage characters from 2006-2011ish. I remember statless builds being really prominent around 2008-2009, especially after you were able to buy exceptionally well scrolled zak helms and bathrobes with NX cash off other players.

lukless mage is doable at launch with maple weapons, but dexless warriors won't be dexless until they ap reset their dex later on.

I doubt any “-less” classes would be remotely viable in classic until there is significant economy development.

Warrior's gear has no dex requirements. Both their armor and 95% of their weapons can be used str only. Dex is purely for accuracy, and if you get enough accuracy from scrollled equipment you don't need any dex.

Basically:

Warrior equipment doesn't require their secondary stat in general

Archer armor doesn't require their secondary stat, but their weapons do

Mage, thief, and pirate weapons and armor all require their secondary stat.

people will actually play the official server. you could get the most perfect server that sucks your dick on top of everything and it will have 0 players. artale was one of the most dogshit games i've ever seen but it was fun at first because a bunch of people were playing. also private servers you can never 100% trust unless it's open source like mg2 source. but still its going to be single player maplestory.

I really really want to play Maplestory Classic but we have no release date. When do you think they are going to drop it? 2026 or 2025? I think Maplefest is in October. I really need an MMO to grind in but I feel like Artale is not worth spoiling the wait

The inconsistency in stat requirements between classes is also why sins were so strong.

Most classes require their secondary stat to be near their level, but assassins require it to be significantly higher

Assassin weapons have much lower attack values than the weapons from any other class, even considering that their throwing star will be giving them a bonus of about +25 attack on average

Sin's damage formula more heavily weighs their luk and attack values, since they're expected to be lower than everyone else's

But attack scrolls for their weapons and luk scrolls for their equipment give the exact same gains as everyone else

As a result funding a sin gives huge gains relative to their baseline stats in comparison to everyone else

If they're planning to announce the release in October then it would have to be in either November or December. Not cashing in on winter break would be a bad idea.
