Do zoomers have nostalgia goggles for these things?

Most zoomers didn't play those. Especially not the Gamecube which was a flop.
They grew up watching millenial youtubers telling them how amazing this generation was and were induced into believing they missed out on a fabled golden age of videogames

PS1 mogged in variety of titles, size of library, advances in gameplay, experimental games, etc.

You could get an arcade port or a 100 hour JRPG and everything in between.

I played gamecube recently with a bunch of friends who haven't played with any consoles or games from that era. Everyone was hooked on Super monkey ball, Godzilla and warioware. I don't think its a case of nostalgia if the games are bangers.

I'm a millennial and this was genuinely the best era of vidya gaems. The very start of 7th gen continued this golden age but only very briefly, then it became plagued by microtransactions and brown and bloom, paving the way for today's market.

I never had a PS2 but had a Gamecube and Xbox Hueg. The libraries between both were god tier. There will never be another generation like it. Special mention to all the Star Wars games that came out that gen in the wake of the prequels. We didn't know how good we had it.

Why did cartoons at the time always have the characters playing the Gamecube but never the PS2 or Xbox, even though they sold much more?

Actually zoomer here. I remember watching my older brother play games on the PS3 and my dad play old 90s PC games on the old Windows XP Compaq. Also had a ds and a 3ds which I loved the shit out of, latter is still alive to this day.
