It's over, it's captured me again

It's over, it's captured me again,
I'm thinking about what I nees to do while showering/away from computer

I didnt play for over 2 years, but I decided to get spaceage, winged my way through the planets landing with nothing each time to learn the mechanics but now that Ive gotten off aquilo I have to break my notepad of calcs out again and get serious, its sunny outside but I need to:

go back through each planet and make all production scaleable and beaconed

ramp each planets science up to atleast 5/s then backtrace all items needed to be able to feed this

convert navius to biolabs/news structures

completely overhaul smelting on navius to foundaries, which means a satilite calcite station

build better ships that dont need my input

hear people enjoying life outside but I need to solve my battery/water production on fulgora

hopefully I can make a dent in this before work on monday

fucking hate this

spaceage dlc sucks
there, I said it

>hopefully I can make a dent in this before work on monday

holy unc moment
sure stinks like wageslavery here

False.
Only Gleba sucks.

Would it be possible to survive purely from like a slaughterhouse factory in this game? I think that's the only way I could be interested is making the most morbid factory possible.

Fuck off with your busy work simulator.

Glebas what Im dreading the most, gave up after hours of trying to do it organically and just flew in a bunch of bots/roboports and made a bot base but now to scale it I need to figure out production lines

yo we heard you like wageslaving in a factory while brown subhumans attack you with their diversity so we made a game where you wageslave in a factory so you can wageslave in a factory while you wageslave in a factory

Gleba doesn't suck.
A prostitute sucks.
Gleba is a fucking disgusting, rushed, pile of donkey shit eaten by a pajeet and shat out only to be eaten again to ensure it smells fouler than a month-long decomposed corpse.

Science pack spoils

Makes your megabase 1000x science run pure cancer

What the FUCK were they thinking? And don't forget.

The very first teaser reveal was an enemy brain with claws that floats for Aquillo.

Gets scrapped

FUCKING WUBE.

Smells like brainlet samefag in here, why are you THIS salty?

Played Factorio for the first time half a year ago. Loved it, put in hundreds of hours. Considered Getting space age but heard it has cancerous dosghit mechanics like spoilage and RNG gambling so decided there's no way I'm paying 30 eurobucks to ruin a game I enjoyed.

buzzword buzzword buzzword wrapped in a decade old meme

hope this was AI generated bro

708830489

is there anything more pathetic than a tranny who gives passive aggressive (You)s? You're telling all of us that you can't handle talking to people on the internet.

708830489

708830489

THIS is how cringe you look.

It 100% needed more time to cook.

No refrigeration technology to ensure your spoilage items remain cooled during inter-planetary travel, where it is naturally cold

Aquillo enemy not in the game

Gleba got a super rushed re-design after the lan-party revealed how shit it was at first

They stuck the release date despite the clear incentive to delay it and really get it right.

I'm pretty disappointed, honestly.

I triggered a mental breakdown in a shitskin, so I count it as an itty bitty win winry winerino, brotherino. Lil uncarino. Lil unc. Itty bitty unc. Tiny unc.

honestly? don't do it.

I did it. I have a thousand hours and I cannot recommend it.

LET.
HIM.
COOK.

The "RNG" is actually nothing like gambling. If you make the right builds, you can bypass the randomness factor by a ton and get right to legendary production granted you have the sufficient means to start it.
Space platforms are perfect for making a looping production chain of increasingly more consistent rarity tiers.
Need anything recycled or just disposed of? You can use an inserter to chuck that shit out or delete it with 2 recyclers going into each other.
It's that easy.

it seethes over not getting (You)s

Lol.
Lmao, even.
Just fucking kill yourself, trannyfaggot.

space age sucks. Stick to vanilla factorio, it's a timeless sovl kino.

Instead of being

Cool new planets! With new machines! And better materials!

We got

Cancerous planets! With the same old machines, now moved to these planets!

Oh and by the way, moving items between planets is also cancer! And so is moving yourself between them!

Sweet, delicious, pure itty bitty tranny seethe. I relish the delish. I know I raped your mind. I know you're seething. I want more. More indirect (You)s.

Now.

yeah I don't get the mentality of devs who think new content or harder difficulties should just mean time padding tedium. They could've done so much cool new shit with it

The whole rocket mechanic could have used more work for sure. Making it cheaper to travel by 20 times wasn't the problem at all. It was how stupid it is to utilize. There are actually all sorts of little things that ruin it for me too.
You basically need to use bots to automate rocket silo transferring and most people don't know circuitry. The game's tutorial is dogshit for learning it, too.

Need anything recycled or just disposed of?

I don't because the whole premise of the game was producing self-sufficient optimised chains of production. Making shit to acrap it so you could roll an autated gacha sounds fucking retarded to me and I want none of it.

It could be better but I dont think its fair to act like its bad because its not 1000% perfect

They said the brain things massively slowed progress and people already struggle with the progress on aquilo

If you liked the base game youll like the DLC, its really good, its just that factorio attracts spergs with insane autism standards who get mad when everything they dreamed of didnt get perfectly met,

Each planet has a unique way of gathering resources and unique tech that massively boosts other planets, the price is what it is and never changes or goes on sale and there's respect to that

For me it's...

We could simply fire a rocket straight to Vulcanus.

No, let's fire a rocket to a space station that will fire a sub-rocket to Vulcanus

Why didn't they go with a straight rocket-to-planet approach? It would have been so much smoother. Logistics with space stations suck major ass

Im hoping the factorio team try something else/refresh as theyve said said, then come back and we get the planets fleshed out better with some new planets added, theyve got the perfect format for new expansions, I dont see this being the end of the road

I got filtered by making a space ship and a circuit system that would only grab what was needed

Or if I could make a banana plantation factory and put some Brazilians to work while banana spiders attack them

Anon. Resources are infinite in space. The little rocks and big rocks that pass by and break down into chunks? You use grabbers to get that on your platform and they never stop coming. If you make your platform really wide and long you can even grab more rocks to get more resources and you don't have to rely on a single patch of ore.
With advanced asteroid processing you can even get coal and sulfur directly from chunks. Even copper and iron, which means you can get steel.
And with water you can turn the sulfur into sulfuric acid which you can reprocess into heavy oil. Which means you can get petroleum.

You just need the right research and you can make as many space platforms making whatever the fuck you want.
The sky's not the limit. It's space. Literally.

All of the complaints i see is

Gleba sucks because i was filtered

Sucks to suck

You unlock asteroid reprocessing then soon you can take any asteroid and just turn the ones you dont want into the ones you want

why did you take it personally, tranny?

Lmao what a shit argument. You're one of those dumb retards who blames people by calling them poor for not wanting to buy games, aren't you?

Gleba is rough, but can be memed with bots, preserving spoilage would be nice but I dont see how its implemented without making the mechanic pointless

But so we all agree fulgora is goated and no one complains about its mechanics?

Vulc is good but too easy, pretty fun as a planet tutorial though

I hate how useless your player character has become. You can literally do everything better with the remote view now. In multiplayer, everyone just sits idle somewhere with their character, playing with remote view. It's so weird.

ohhh that makes sense and helps, ta

gleba rocks, git gud

Gleba can be done with JUST belts, too. It's not that it's hard. It's really not hard. Once you understand it then everything clicks, but the thing I hate the most about it is denying us a way to permanently store the fucking eggs.
You can TECHNICALLY do it by storing the Biochambers, but then you gotta recycle them, which is a Fulgora unlock.
So if you want to go to Gleba first, you need to deal with so much BULLSHIT just to bring back a half-spoiled can of shit.
The Biolabs are a fucking game-changer however.
I just wish they took more time to polish Gleba up. It feels rough around the edges for sure.

in which one?

Itself.

Gleba sucks!!!

Anons clearly haven't learned you can make a bit of oil for flamethrowers to rape the locals anytime they come knocking.
Electric towers are expensive as fuck, and they're good, but flamethrowers are still king, even on Gleba. And you don't even need that much. Just a bit will do.

I remember my first Gleba base, it was my "Fuck it, let the bots fix everything" base, even more than Fulgora was. Honestly Gleba doesn't really do anything best outside of plastic and rocket fuel. Even now when I make "proper" Gleba bases, I don't even bother with metals. I can import everything from the planets with a fast infinite supply, so why bother with Gleba's slow infinite supply.

Me but with sissy hypno

he's still seething

relax, shitskin
text can't hurt you
worry about your poverty and cholera

The thing is, biochambers are negative pollution. So if you bring them back to Nauvis and have a ton of them doing processes chemical plants would otherwise do, you can really reduce your pollution cloud and just use a fish-breeding or bioflux space train to get your nutrients to run the thing.
Gleba's buildings such as the heat-tower are just too fucking good.
It opens up a ton of things and the biolab is on a league of its own.
Over 2.5 times the value of a single pack if you switch to that over using a normal lab.

I know it's for gameplay reasons but it's so fucking retarded that you can build all that fucked up shit but not a fucking freezer to stop shit from spoiling. You're already using ice for shit, how the fuck doesn't the enginigger just stick some of that shit into a container with the spoiling shit? At the very least it should have been an Aquilo unlock so you don't have to bother as much once you're done with Gleba.

I refuse to be an oilcuck tho, it's basically a cheat for the game.

That's one of the bigger critiques but they just refuse to acknowledge it. Fucking Wube Niggers.

I just plopped down nuclear reactors onto Gleba's lakes, I really couldn't be bothered with all the shit the game wanted me to do.

Honestly I think he's got a point. Have you seen how much electricity draw a single fucking tower costs? Sure, they arc and hit multiple enemies and deal tons because Gleba enemies have no resistance to electricity, but they go down just fine from fire, too.
And all it takes is a few buildings and a whole perimeter to deal with them forever?
Yeah.

Im a brainlet with circuits and the most I ever do is disabling inserters when a chest has a number, and with my basic shit I can still make a spaceship completely regulate any asteroid with that

Storing eggs would make sense too, even if it meant you had to fly them to aquilo or something to refrigerate, I still havnt really figured out how to do my biter eggs to make overgrowth soil consistently,

But to solve it I just make lots of eggs that get fed into a burner when not taken by a boilab and a couple laser turrets by the lab when the ones inserted inside turn into the sperg things

Idk Im picturing a nice base with a permetered fence and concrete everywhere so im not standing on gross mush ground, and the whole thing functions like any other base, its a longer process to get there but it can be done, my biggest issue with gleba aside from how small stone patches are is the fact that you cant organically build and tweak things, you need to plan it all out then fire it up and see if it works

Does everyone else not just have a thick tree perimeter around their main navius base as soon as they unlock tree seeds to negate pollution?

Yeah but... I don't know they don't feel as useful as all that. The amount of pollution I fart out with my factories is always obscenely large. I need to go fast. No breaks on the rape train.

I think the real biggest issue factorio has and it hasnt changed in spaceage is that artillery completely breaks the game and makes enemies obselete when half the game is built around defending against enemies

Maybe it's just me, but the moment I get a space platform running I shift pretty much all my heavy industry to Vulcanus, being able to pipe your metals around is just too convenient and getting screwed on coal during world gen doesn't matter much once you get farming platforms up. Nauvis basically just exists to farm biter eggs and get science shipped to it.

You can do the liquid metal on navius too? With prod mods + speed beacons your trains are basically standing still because the ore goes so far

Factorio is a massive chud victory

normal-man.png - 735x1000, 663.57K

You know your character/the engineer is a black female right?

Yeah but you still need to get advanced asteroid processing from gleba to get calcite from asteroids, or just ship the calcite from vulcanus which is more of a pain when you can just get an idle calcite farm on nauvis orbit.

The fact that the best tech is unlocked in gleba ten times over is such a fucking kick in the balls.
It's like, they just sat there and said, "You know what? This planet fucking sucks and we fucked up making it. Let's just make the annoying as fuck, badly designed, pile of shit we just plopped on the floor the most rewarding! That way, anyone who has a problem with it will get bombarded by redditors who immediately defend it on this one good point it has going for it regardless of everything else!"

Fucking assholes knew what they were doing. People are so retarded nowadays they just need to give them an excuse for people to run their cocksucking mouths about shit they know nothing about.

Yeah I realized that the other day, I was just standing next to my rocket at navius playing with all the plents in remote view

Ive commited to it now and made a builder spidertron for each planet filled with cinstruction robots and I just send him around to expand/construct things,

Navius one is light blue, vulc is dark orange, gleba is yellowish green, fulgora is pink and aquilo is dark blue, its kino

But you dont get it, glebas start up is rough and requires you to think in a completely different way and that annoys the autist but once you get past that bump it functions like any other planet/base so why not put tech behind the second biggest filter in the game? That is good macro design

I first played this like 2 weeks ago. Help! I cant stop thinking about my factory.

That's how Factorio gets you.
You subconsciously think about your factory. About the small ways to improve it. Then you just have to boot it up and implement a new idea.
And so your factory grows. And it never stops growing. Even when you come back 6 months later after taking a break. You always come back home...

Even when you come back 6 months later after taking a break

I start fresh when that happens, so in a way the factory tegresses

think about how to improve something

log in to do it

notice the downstream cant keep up

go to fix that then notice the material feed from mines cant keep up

go to fix the mine and it now releases too much pollution

biters attack mine

notice weak point in defense

fix perimeter defense

power starts struggling with new perimeter defense

optimize power source so you can fix the defense so you can fix the mine so you can fix downstream items so you can implement the idea you had

while this is going on you think about way to optimize unreleated part

Gonna try and get my yellow science potions setup tomorrow. Got everything up to purple so far. Trying to decide whether I process the oil into sulphuric acid and lubricant up at the oil field or bring it back to my main base by train and process it there.

Put the oil in barrells and have long chains of bots flying the barrells across the map

Yeah bro I love playing factorio!

Oh. I just been using the trains and I got pipes all over the place to unload. Does sound better I will try that.

Why does your production have to be beaconed? Why not just make more assemblers?

I dont run any crazy calcs but from what I can tell if you have a straight line of assemblers and replace every second assembler with a beacon with 2, 2star speed modules your output is far higher than if you had the same space taken just by assemblers, thats with all prod modules

I think my purple/yellow science had 12 assemblers and was making 1.8/s total, and switching every second assembler with speed beacons its 2.5 now

Beacons simply allow you to get more production from smaller footprint. They can be ignored if one wants. Plenty of space, unless you're walled off by biters or sth.

Does anyone have a rough rule of thumb for the diminishing returns of speed beacons? Seems like 1-2 is a massive boost but if you surround it fully with like 6+ beacons you barely increase that much

Crushers are planned to no longer take quality modules in v2.1

denying us a way to permanently store the fucking eggs

You can Rube Goldberg it.
The pentapod egg mitosis recipe which creates two eggs from one, restores their freshness value.
Build some circuitry which cycles the recipe on a single egg kept in a chest, once every 15 minutes.
Send the second one down a splitter into a furnace.

If you need to actually start consuming eggs - e.g. because science pack production needs to kick back in - then short the timer and route the secondary egg passed the furnace into another staging area for more widespread egg multiplication.

I see Earendel is still being a massive faggot.
The furfag duality between him and Bobingabout is staggering, complete no fun allowed on one side and God modules on the other.

If this isn't bait that's not only gay.
It's cringe. Where are you finding this shit? I'm about to go to their discord and spam NIGGER NIGGER NIGGER in the chat until they ban my ass.

just use a fish-breeding or bioflux space train to get your nutrients

You would actually use the bioflux to sustain captured spawners (which ALSO have negative pollution!) and turn the biter eggs into nutrients. At legendary quality this has an insane ratio like 1:9000 for bioflux to nutrients, enabling you to run your entire petrochem industry on Nauvis off of biochambers with just a minimal trickle of bioflux delivered from Gleba.

Why the fuck are they doing this to us? What did we do to them? Who the fuck gets these anti-fun ideas from? It's bad enough they decided to penalize us for space ship width for absolutely no fucking reason, but now this?
Fucking dickheads, mate.

7753432145.jpg - 800x839, 119.93K

One of the devs announced it in the discord as the option they're looking at to get rid of 'space casinos' - because going all-legendary quality isn't supposed to be something that's so trivial to achieve.

They're apparently also looking at the LDS shuffle.

Who the fuck gets these anti-fun ideas from?

They have the Space Exploration dev on the team now. Originally as a concept artist, but he managed to work his way into actual game design as well. The dev team has had to reel him back in numerous times already; to the point that they actually noted it in a few of the dev blog entries for Space Age.

I see Earendel is still being a massive faggot.

Yup. This has their signature all over it.

What a fucking faggot that guy is. Seriously.

Bad plan. If you have quality enabled, just work on legendary productivity/speed beacons. They're so broken that you can pretty easily produce 80 beakers of any kind per second without megabasing.

I want to get everything established as basic mechanics till 5s of each science then I want to dive into quality and upscale my bases in that regard, this run is for learning everything properly

Quality takes time to initially grind. Setup quality module grinding on Fulgora first and let it run while you do the other stuff.

I did that when I unlocked in (playing blind) and I got a few green quality 2 modules then decided to pack everything involved into some chests and put them to the side until I unlock the top level and decided my bases will have a good basic foundation then proper upwards scaling will come with quality later

I'm at this frustrating point where I need to start being giga autistic about it and redoing entire bases to be amazing. Yet I'm stuck on the exact way of doing that and just know if I look it up I'll ruin the fun

Fucking hell. They need to get their shit together. Space age launched incomplete. That's irrefutable. This asshole is getting in the way of development.

It sucked at first but towards the end of redoing vulc I got hyped again, then I enthusiastically ripped through fulgora, now on gleba its getting tough again

Dont produce in a block on Gleba. Send Jelly and Yum only. Need to make carbonfiber? 10x CF, 16x Carbon, 1x Bioflux, 7x Yum 1x Jelly. Connect a wire to the belt going into that workstation, turn the belt off if it is not in use.

Gleba is the best part.

Why the fuck cant I mine stone in space or why the fuck are gleha patches so small

kek me too, this is my fulgora recycle note

fulgora_note.jpg - 3024x4032, 3.61M

hilti

Oh we got a rich guy here

But based, im working through gleba atm then ill start building hopefully soon

Can't they prevent module usage based on recipe? Just disallow quality modules for asteroid recycling.

I don't mind needing infrastructure to move items, but damn, let me just build a shuttle or something so I can move between planets for free. I don't care if I can't carry anything.
