Thousands of years have gone by and now Earth is back. The most reasonable place for the story to go is for the descendants of those millions of people to show up now and the problems that'll cause.

As far as I'm concerned commons can run the full gamut in terms of nodes, stats, cores, etc. I don't really care. They should fix the gacha system itself though. Add a real pity system, not the joke one it has, and fix the bullshit bug on rolling field skills that makes 4 crown commons far rarer than they're meant to be and 3 crowns more common as a result.

If it were me I'd ditch the gacha entirely for giving every rare blade an intro quest + some other way to obtain commons.
Speaking of the pity system, the og is also bugged and you cannot ever roll the last pity group, doubling the chance of you rolling the first instead.

yeah, but while XBX DE gives me some hope that an XB2 rework can really fix field skill checks one way or another, the gacha system is even backed into the story of XB2. I can't see it going away. I do wish the rare cores at minimum came from special stuff in game like Kassandra or Sheba, if not full outright quests like Theory and Praxis. But I do realize the latter is asking an awful lot.
And yeah, I know about the pity bug, but I want a real pity system, so I don't care about fixing that bug since I think the existing one should be scrapped.

My really big asks are that they patch in NG+ into XBX DE. I'm not expecting it, but they did patch it in later for 2 so it's not completely out of the question.
And that if they touch up 2 at some point, they add a collectapedia and an affinity chart.

The world design has to change too much towards open world to accomodate pilotable mechs, they should keep them to an X2 (and actually make it of course). It wouldn't work as well with the linear progression of areas in the numbered games.

Not a full open world, if you can explore anywhere then you either have to randomly lock off areas which ruins the point, or have weird story moments where characters pretend not to have seen something, despite the player maybe going there before. Alternatively you can have alternate cutscenes for it the player finds something before the story happens but that'd be way too much work for a game as big as Xenoblade. I wouldn't mind smaller "open" areas though, like what the series has been doing just still more exploration focused

Covering all bases completely is impossible, iirc, but secondary cooldown astral projection puts you at 50% for all elements. Stack armor and augs on top of that. Like you can line up armor types to just get positives by canceling out negatives. I think I did it once and had 40 electric and 20 grav and 0 on everything else. Also, your right and left arm can roll resist traits on them if you farm ultra infinite, and those can cap out at 25 additional for two elements. Then you can add augs on top of that. I think it's possible to cap out 4 or maybe 3 + 1 at 95 resist that way.
I'm sure someone can do a particularly efficient setup.
