Is it good now?
Is it good now?
I had fun
no
Yeah male and female replaced body type 1 and 2
It was already fun when it launched. Filtered lot of Lies of P fags though.
They pandered to the alt right with this. Don’t give them your money. Buy Veilguard instead.
Always was good. In fact, it's been casualized to appease Elden Ring bossfag secondaries
It's still woke
if you didnt like it at launch, you wont like it now
sigh
It's okay for one playthrough, the lack of enemy variety kills it for me
It's no Nioh, but it's better than it was at launch.
Yes.
it's fun with a friend
I like it a lot.
I have a video clip of my magic build nuking the Sundering King. Give me a moment.
99% of the time you killing monsters, where the fuck is the woke everyone keep posting about?
is it that blacksmith is a fat bitch instead of old dude like in dark souls? then you'd be bitching that they copy fromsoft or what is?
show me those juicy new TYPE2 bodies they were bragging about and ill consider playin it again
Only fromgods have the rights to make soulsgame
I've been playing it for the last couple of days and it's way, way better than I was expecting.
Pretty much takes the Dark Souls formula and builds around it, so if you are into that sort of things, you'll probably end up liking it.
Visually it looks really good, I'm not a graphics guy at all but the environments are just really nice to look at and the art style matches it well.
The level design is surprisingly really good, I'm 6 hours into the game and have only fought 1 boss because I've been just exploring around the world.
For the bad, I'd say the tutorial is really condescending and hand holdy, it gives the wrong impression about what the wrong of the game would be like.
Also the combat feels really easy to me, as I said before I've only encounter one main boss but it only took me 2 tries to defeat it, the rest of the game has been a walk in the park. There are clearly some areas you are not supposed to visit right as you find them and is easy to tell because the game just throws at you the same enemies with extra HP and damage output. The evasion and parry are really broken and it's easy to dodge/parry most stuff the game throws at you as long as the enemies not are in groups.
Either way, I'm having fun and I'll keep playing it, just found the Blacksmith and got my Halberd to +4
The devs posted on twitter about how they can't wait til we see whats in store for Lords of the Fallen 2 females.
So expect them to go full sex sells on the next game.
Their old design for the Infernal Enchantress was already leaning that way.
I'm enjoying it quite a bit, the lack of enemy variety is really bad as other anons have said but its far from being a bad soulslike, the only issue is that I find it to be way too easy sometimes, I'm about halfway through the game and the only boss that genuinely gave me a bit of trouble was this one knight on a castle that could summon clones of himself to attack, and even then it didn't really take that long for me to learn the patterns and all. But they have the most important part down which is combat satisfaction, its not like lies of P where your weapons don't feel that good to use, in terms of difficulty i'd also rather the game be easier like this one than harder in an artificial dogshit way, again like lies of P which everyone says is the best soulslike even though the surge 2 is right there
Very fun game but I'm waiting for the next update to add more difficulty options.
It took the wrong lessons from dark souls where it has extremely obscure quests that are completely impossible accidentally stumble upon yourself, which also have very narrow progression windows in which they could even be attempted. The worst one would be one where you get some random item from a boss but if you leave the boss arena into the next area the quest instantly fails, even though theres no diret connection between the new area and the character...
The worst thing is that the game does not iterate on dark souls 1 weapon upgrading system in the slightest but you still find a new weapon every 10 minutes. But weapon upgrading being so expensive as it is you never actually bother using more than like 1-2 weapons.
Overall its very mediocre, goes on for too long, doesn't really do enough new things, takes the wrong lessons from its predecessors, the free game being free for your coop partner is cool from them though
Are you talking about the Crimson Rector knight guy?
It's a bit of a shame how easy it is once you know what you're doing. I absolutely breezed through my All Modifiers Run, though I had a few close calls due to those stupid bat enemies
That's him, I remember him doing some stuff that was hard to dodge every once in a while and the damage wasn't low at all, but after you get the pattern down he turns out to be just slightly above a normal version of that knight enemy
tbf, they revamped the combat fluidity and made the game easier overall with other changes.
The game was much harder on release.
I know, I've been playing since launch.
How was it harder on launch? was the moves slower? I know you couldn't jump but other than that what made it harder back then?
The worst thing is that the game does not iterate on dark souls 1 weapon upgrading system in the slightest but you still find a new weapon every 10 minutes. But weapon upgrading being so expensive as it is you never actually bother using more than like 1-2 weapons.
What about the auto upgraded weapons setting, is that a fix?
The movement was floaty and one of the first areas in the game has you fight on soem scaffolding area which was prone to falling.
Not only that but a lot of the difficulty was based around them putting a large number of enemies in an area, incuding ranged ones which made the game feel frustrating.
I stil enjoyed it overall and almost finished it, but it frustrated me in some parts.
Yes. The equivalent to Titanite Chunks are the hardest to get, but you'll be rolling in +10 with that modifier on. Makes it very easy to swap between builds.
You moved a lot more when swinging your weapon, your could fall off cliffs by attacking, ranged enemies had MUCH longer range (I miss this), enemy density was much higher (I also miss this, but you can turn it back on in the settings). There are a few enemies that they've buffed, like the Red Reaper and most of the bosses.
I enjoyed it on release minus my shitty pc performance. It had jank but I liked the level design and bosses, if anything it was a bit too easy?
The CEO is desperate for sales (for a game he has admitted isn't profitable yet) and has been shitting up his game beyond just trying to be the cool kid for the right-wing grifters
And his next game is an EGS exclusive lol
Go chud, go thud
Actually the friend pass and these new changes did work, the game gained more than 600% players in april alone and those players are still here in may which means they haven't refunded it. They might have not been good changes for people that already played the game before but they worked for newcomers
If he was desperate for sales, then the changes worked. The game got a pretty damn noticeable boost in sales after the release of the 2.0 version of the game.
Compare that to say...Concord?
The game got a pretty damn noticeable boost in sales after the release of the 2.0 version of the game
He literally admitted he still hasn't broken even KWAB
So much for chud power
best soulslike since the first Dark Souls, always has been, shitters gonna be shitters though
It's fun, but definitely not super hard
Bosses are pretty straightforward
Umbra system is a big safety net for unexpected deaths
Checkpoint system where you can create savepoints helps long treks be more manageable
That said, the style is cool and I'm digging the worldbuilding. Just a shame this game has probably THE WORST quest design of any action-adventure game.
It's like they took a look at Soulsborne quest systems, and decided "Yes, let's make it more convoluted and prone to failures"
Want to do the Bucketlord quest? Make sure you have EXACTLY 4 buckets when you turn them in. Have 5? Can't turn them in now, failed the entire questline. Maybe on NG+.
Did you open this door after that NPC gave you a key? Sorry, you just failed this other quest with this completely unrelated NPC. Tough shit.
Just nonstop. Even if you follow guides, it's too easy to fail quests. Zero leeway.
All around 7/10 game, but plenty of design issues.
As always Wait for some idiot to post gameplay
dedicated coop trying to replicate seamless COOP mod for ER
Okay, that is going to generate some sales
I've been trying to get this under 4.00 MB for a while. Have some old gameplay while you wait.
Go chud, go thud
lmao truly can't meme
Shame your pristine memeing can't give Marek Tyminski the profit he's looking for
Hope you're ready to get an ESG exclusive game to not get egg on your face, chuddie
The power that got the game more sales and had the devs thank the players for new lease on life the game got? That's pretty powerful, indeed.
new lease on life
STILL hasn't broken even after 2 years
???
More like worthless CPR on a drowning man
Developer decides that the best course of action is to cater to what his audience wants while still sticking to the niche genre
This is bad because ???
Developer goes on about the modern audience not existing and how he's catering to the ebic chuddies
Still can't make money because his game is shit anyways and culture war shit doesn't mean anything
Meanwhile BG3 is one of the biggest successes in the industry
This is funny
Literally Me
What's funny is that you can just go on the internet and tell lies.
He said that he's gonna try to make the game more commercial and appealing for wider audiences the very next sentence. I have no fucking clue what that retard is thinking. Seems like he's just throwing shit at the wall.
What did I lie about, coping retard? Protip: Be vague and don't answer the question so you don't get BTFO when I provide evidence.
go chud go thud
Leftists are truly my living comedy entertainment
The game is good anyway, especially with the changes. Only issue is that it's too easy (but you can say the same for pretty much any Souls game once you get used to them). Level design is also really great.
Don't know what this guy is sperging about.
You're gonna be my living entertainment when I make threads about how successful The Witcher 4 is and you're forced to pretend it somehow actually secretly lost money.
I'll try to remind myself to bring up the Megaflop this thread is about to add salt to the wound.
Look tranny, you know as well as I that your movement is falling apart. All of your studios are dying. It's time for you to join them. You tried. You did what billionaires told you to do and you ended up losing. Just accept it. No hard feelings
No one wants tranny SJW shit in their games. Time to move on and kill yourself
its on my list o f games i want to play through just to see what its like, the updates and iterations are enticing
Reminder that Adyr did nothing wrong. Other than how hard he fucked up the king's family, that was probably uncalled for.
I did nothing wrong, I'm innocent!
Literally all of the Rhogar entertain themselves by chopping off hands and skinning people alive
I don't know, anon...
It is passable now and I respect the devs for updating and rebuilding so many systems but I also feel sorry of them. They're so desperate for success. Anyone would be, but they're going as far as trying to appeal to culture war retards (keep in mind that trannies and chuds represent 0.1% of customers) and they just got mogged hard by Lies of P. I don't think anyone expected LoP to have the success (and legs) that it did. It just overshadowed Lords of the Fallen. LotF also had some major issues at release that got better over time.
Still, it is just strange. It feels like the team is Sisyphus pushing the boulder up the hill of success and will never make it and are willing to try anything. A free friend pass to make it so you can play seamless co-op with someone else for free. Changing body type to genders (yeah cause that fixed the bugs/performance upon release). Having like 100 different changes and soft-relaunching the game with 2.0. It is honest to God desperation.
inb4 some retarded faggot things I am whining about the change to male/female
I mean it is better than body type 1/2 but there is no one in the world who was gonna buy this game and then stopped because of body type 1/2 and then is now going to buy it because of that. The average normalfag gamer cares not. Elden Ring just announced it sold 30M copies. It has Body type 1/2. No one gives a fuck.
Except you'll still be saying this five years from now. You will forever be in a perpetual state of "Two more weeks" like you have been for the past 13 years. Why would anyone be retarded enough to think that you were suddenly right now? If Anon Babble goes an entire year without crying about whatever the new announced woke game is, then we can talk. Never gonna happen albeit.
Do you still slide forward 100 feet after every swing?
based and redpilled as fuck
I think that kind of change and virtue signaling by itself isn't worrying even if it is cringe, but then you look at all the shit they patched like how they took out the boss fight at the start and how they are promising that they are gonna make the next game's art style more appealing to a wider audience (The fuck is the problem with this game's art style?) and it's clear that this team is gonna suffer from a CEO chasing trends.
It's a shame because LotF is better as a "Souls-like"
No, they removed that pretty much entirely.
It's a shame that the encounter is pretty much NG+ exclusive, and by then you're likely strong enough to just annihilate him.
Meh. I mean it has more souls-like level design but everything else is worse than Lies of P. I guess you could say its dark fantasy universe is more akin to Souls while Lies of P is more like BB but I don't think anyone can play the two games and come away saying LotF > LoP.
Felt clunky for me and deleted it after the bowman boss, but it's really well optimized I guess.
Nah, I maintain that LotF is more like Bloodborne than LoP is for everything except surface level aesthetics, and even then.
I also really, really wished that more Souls-like devs would focus on level design and that new Soulsfags weren't just boss rush enthusiasts who try to speed through every level. LotF and AI Limit were pleasant surprises with how well their levels were designed, and LotF also has an excellent world overall. I can see WHY the devs wanted Vestige decay to be a NG+ default, and I'm glad they included it as a modifier.
On pure combat, LoP does win, but I still think that LotF is very fluid (at least compared to proper Souls).
Mind you, I am someone who highly values challenging levels over challenging bosses.
On a side note, I still find it ironic that LotF is one of the few Souls-likes to have a built in boss rush mode.
youtube.com
It's just kino.
Humans start a war against their own deity for undisclosed reasons (likely just hostile takeover by other deity, the one that kills you if you assist it in default ending)
Deity defends himself by making demonic niggers
???
Bonus: new deity of humans is much worse cunt on scale of atrocities done under him
soulslop
No and it never will be
Name ONE thing Orius has done that is as bad as what the Rhogar did to Calrath.
buy game
few months later it's almost completly different game due to patches
over the course of 2 years game changes even more
you no longer own product you bought
what is this fucking retarded bullshit holy fucking shit
it's the same shit like with cyberpunk, WHAT'S THE POINT of buying videogames on release if they get so many changes and patches, everyone should just wait 2 years before buying the game
Sundered King burst damage. I think this is the highest DPS I've ever reached in this game.
Pretty sure various Orius cult rape and torture dungeons constitute greater part of the game's levels than Calrath, the game is pretty straightforward with what they do.
This looks like garbage.
There is something about that running animation...
It's somehow even more retardedly easy than it was on launch lmao, they caved SO HARD to the whiners
Nah, the running animations in this game are rather goofy. It's like the Lampbearer has some stiffness in his arms.
lotf1 tried to be dark souls and failed
the surge tried something new and failed
the surge 2 failed again
lotf2 was a bit better but bloated
they'll get it right next time for sure
Both the surge games are pretty good.
Also lotf2023 was done by a different company than other games, they just got the IP somehow.
I don't want Nioh-likes, please.
It doesn't actually work. The lag and desyncing makes it utterly unplayable.
I still don't like the overall game feel of it. Doing the dash vs the roll feels insanely clunky and when damage and iframes are active aren't really that intuitive from the animations. Still not a fan of the umbral either, it sounds like a neat idea on paper but it just adds a layer of tedium to what could have otherwise been straightforward maps.
I want to try it, but I can't make an attractive female character no matter how hard I try. Making the female MC more feminine was actually one of the highlights of 2.0, but their face still look hideous.
I thought that dash vs roll felt fine. I just needed to stop double tapping the dodge button out of habit. What do you dislike about it?
I've made faces that are more attractive than the ones in Elden Ring, but that's a low bar. It's a very fidgety system, and it doesn't help that you have to wait for the face to load in.
Is there any way you can share your slides/settings?
How many versions of this game are there? I played this like in 2018 and it was a decent Dark Souls copycat but had a bit of annoying sections and the story was meh
It came out in 2023, anon...
You might be thinking of the 2013 LotF. This is LotF2.
If the thread is still alive tonight, I should have the time.
Yes, it's THE chud game for the time being until a bigger RPG does male/female
Would you?
low enemy variety
still has terrible performance
No
Post your builds NOW
Go chud, go thud
Jesus...
BG3 lets you play Dark Urge and murder everyone. That game is heavy in choice, so it's not necessarily an inclusive game if the player choses not to play that way. Or you can just ignore party members you don't have interest in advancing the stories of.
Apparently all of the "Increase 2H damage" Runes apply to elemental damage as well, so my Judge Cleric's Corrupted Sword is doing quite a lot of damage.
The audio seems bogged now, especially in Umbral.
I didn't buy it.
Its not that there isn't enough enemies.
Its that
1. The QoL is too low. Meaning enemies are not that fun to fight
2. Enemies are too similar
There are quite a few reused movesets (namely the big guys like the Sacred Resonances or Kingrangr Guardians), but I enjoyed fighting most of them. I think the issue is primarily enemy variety. There are only, what, six Umbral enemy types throughout the entire game?
I think comparing it to Dark Souls makes a lot of sense to make a argument.
In Dark Souls, the weaponless hollows behave completely differently than the soliders with broken gear. Each gear type is also very unique.
And the weapon hollows behave completely different from the geared variety that has its marbles somewhat intact.
And the elites(Black Knight, Heide, Lothric, Giants)) behave completely different, again.
In LOTF, PC type enemies including the unarmed umbral zombies behave too similar too each other.
The casters behave too identical to each other, all of them are just trying to snipe you across the map.
The most interesting enemy in terms of function would be the large bell headed enemy, which charge you relentlessly with a mediocre hitbox and jank.
decide to join somebody's game to help them out
they die
I leave
I'm suddenly given all the modifiers their save had and I have no way to disable them so I either have to accept this or reset my entire run
Stupid Zena
