We thought of this idea on Anon Babble to play through random dead MMOs. Preferably games that Anon Babble hasn't already played together, so the experience for everyone is the same.

gl guys I'm fullmaxed on every single class and permutation, or I'd join you. Be aware there are LOTS of chink bots who will mass report you and the autobans are crazy heavy handed (usually lasting 90-180 days even for first offense).

So how many anons join these and how long do you even play these for

I think it's an issue of several very-similar skills spread out across the different class specs. Not to excuse it.
This has been going on for over a year.

WoW skills feel pretty good to use in comparison.

I think it is a problem with the audiovisual side.

2 weeks and usually a dozen anons that play the games for a decent amount (more or less depending on how shitty it is). The most popular games, Dragon's Dogma + Dragon Nest, we had over 60 anons join the guild.

I remember joining for Dragon's Nest and there was about 30 people on average and it ran for a good two weeks. Was really fun actually

I was so pumpped for this game before it came out. Played in a beta and loved the bard but then never got around to actually buying it. Wish it did kill wow

It was kinda shit so you didn't really miss anything

I played beta 3 with Anon Babble, was a great time. Vanilla and Storm Legion was fantastic.

I remember dropping raiding with my friends in WoW Cataclysm with another friend because we both thought this would be a good alternative to WoW. What a fucking mistake I made.

I don't know if it's exactly p2w and usually that portion doesn't have much effect on us during our 2 week stay. It's got the usual scummy shit like inventory expansion (in this case bag slots but you get two free slots that you can buy bigger bags for), pay to progress faster, subs get bonuses.

What I'd worry more about is if they've trivialized the leveling process to make it a snoozefest. Usually catch up gear leads to that.

Does this game still charge for old expacs or are they free? I played it a lot during launch and came back a few years later when I got the storm expac for free. I loved chloromancer, the gun class, and many warrior classes.

About an hour in and I can see why it died. It's a fine game. Combat is fine, VA work is fine. It plays like WoW circa 2013. But, If I wanted to play WoW, I'd just go and play it. That's what all these warcraft killers and pokemon killers and the like seem to forget.

I'll stick around for a bit and see if we can't get some epic raiding in, at least.

I tried playing Rift again four years ago and something just felt 'wrong'. Like it didn't play the way I remember it being when it launched in 2011. Maybe it's just WoW clone syndrome.

God I miss RIFT.
Shit had some downright inspired raid design. Sicaron was a kino boss fight, and Akylios blows basically every fight I ever did in WoW out of the water

RIFT was by far and away the best tab-target hotkey MMO for PvE.

Rift had the best macro-rota system of all mmos.

I remember playing it back around its launch and there just really was no reason to play it if you had any interest in WoW, it was just a worse version of the same thing
It did a few cool things like multiclassing and public quests iirc but you couldn't get away from the sense that it was just an uglier, clunkier WoW.

They did a 'RIFT Classic' at one point... which turned out to be old raids upscaled to current level. And that was about the main significance. It was short term.
Gamigo needs to kill the game off already so a source code can "leak" and a private server can be made.

Ah I lied. While it did have its own server, I must have misremembered the upscaling. But the server died due to slow content release and poor balancing, and Gamigo's acquisition around halfway through the Prime server's one-year lifespan.

This vendor at King's Retreat sells good shit for planars and void stones. I picked up a 4 lesser 1 greater planar focus for 1000 planars, rare essences to fill it up and some nice gear.

pvp tends to happen at set times in the evening. people will usually announce in global when they're queuing. it's nice because they try to enforce not wearing highend bis gear so 70s don't crush lesser geareds

It was janky as fuck and pretty poorly balanced but good fun. There was a private server for a bit but it got lawyered into nothingness.

None of the WoW clones feel as good to play as WoW. There's always something they're lacking.

Raiding rifts was actually a decent bit of fun once we figured out the mechanic for that specific event.

I'd say the characters and zones have aged rather well. The combat visuals are really the only thing that bothers me. It just lacks the oomph..

Maybe I should've specified but I usually talk about vanilla WoW. It had that smoothness of gameplay and interaction from the start.

Respeccing shouldn't be too expensive and you get multiple slots so you can have multiple builds set up.

Play what you want but we might be low on clerics.
