Pre NXE 360 was fucking magical. The NXE was still good, but the 360 really felt like you were playing a console from the future with the blades.

Maybe it was optional to update or something but I got my 360 for Christmas 2008 and I updated to the newer version so I never experienced the version in the op pic. I remember updating as it allowed you to install discs to the hard drive instead of playing them from the disc.

I like the PS3 more but it was almost always worse for multi platform games when it came to performance, come on lol. Those games especially, I know for a fact that all RAGE engine games run better on the 360, I would have to look up Far Cry 3 but I bet it isn't one of the few that runs better on the cell.

Two years ago, Splinter Cell Chaos Theory could only exist via matchmaking on Discord servers, and only a handful of people played. Now, we have dedicated servers, tons of players, and modders have fixed all the issues with framerate, resolution, widescreen, mouse sensitivity, and much more.

That wasn't my experience, I just hoped into any game room I wanted and had kids/dudebros greet me friendly. That was on every game.

Faceplates are rad and I hate that I found out about them so late. Also it used to hurt me knowing Xbox would never get Japanese exclusives ever again after the Xbone disaster but nowadays it would be lucky for it to get even 1 exclusive. Goddamn that’s sad

Even though I played PC at the time, mainly Counter Strike 1.5/1.6, the Xbox 360 was the first platform that provided that "exclusive online multiplayer" experience for me. By bundling the headset and 1 month of Xbox Live Gold with every Premium model console, Xbox in one fell swoop cultivated a generation of bro gamers and created an exciting and engaging online experience that will never be duplicated. RIP.

Man it's crazy thinking how fucking fast that system was cracked back then. And the emulators that worked great on that console. I was playing and beating brand new GBA games on my Xbox.

I know I'm so late to responding but rainbow Six 3 on Xbox was one of my all time favorite online games and I never hear anyone talk about it. I'm glad someone mentioned it
