the median American phone bill is $141 monthly
Is this why mobile games tend to do so poorly in America?
Because you're already paying so much to use your phone?

You think 141$ is much?
That doesn’t sound right unless phone financing is being factored in.
Wait until you hear about our power bills!
Mine is like 18
compared to 20€ for unlimited data at 200mbps and calls and texts, yes
I'm from some Euro shithole and my phone bill has literally never been above 10 dollars. And that's with unlimited everything.
Do you people charge all your IAPs and shit to your phone bill or something?
Bundle it with your internet, I pay like 50 for unlimited data on one line.
phone bill is $141 monthly
power bill is $150 monthly
No wonder you people are living paycheck to paycheck.
Can you tell me one country where people don't live "paycheck to paycheck"?
The cheapest one subscription I could find (with unlimited calls and messages) is 45 NOK (which is about 4 USD), but that has 0 included monthly data.
The cheapest one with some daga, 1 GB, costs 99 NOK (which is a little under 10 USD).
That's how much I pay for my combined family of 4 plan which isn't bad at all. Nobody is paying that much for just an individual plan.
This. OP must have gotten info from a bad source or misunderstood the statistic or something. 150 bucks for my entire family sounds more realistic.
Under 10 bucks for a single person is still incredibly good though. Where do you live? I don't recognize your Monopoly money.
No mobile games are just bad.
As in where NO ONE lives paycheck to paycheck? Probably not, no, but Americans hitting the 50% is very unique, and should be a worrying sign of a volatile economy, don't you think?
Can you tell me one country that has less people living "paycheck to paycheck" than America?
Sweden. Denmark. Poland. Amsterdam. Norway. Switzerland. Australia. Japan. China (although that might be propaganda). Germany. Italy.
America looks the other way with regards to monopolies in companies that supply infrastructure, if you live in the countryside in America, you’ll have to choose between only two internet service providers, both of which collude with each other to rip off as many customers as they possibly can.
It’s even worse in car sales. Did you know, that it is illegal for car companies to sell cars directly to Americans? They HAVE to sell to car dealerships, who then raise the price of the cars and sell to consumers who have no other choice but to buy from the car dealerships.
Aren't small towns in America slowly being abandoned? I read somewhere that the youth are all moving into the city where they can pay 1500 dollars a month to live in small apartments and be slaves effectively.
that cant be right unless you're also paying for smartphone or something since its part of a plan
And this comes from a quantifiable analysis?
Is that very common in America? Most people I know just pay a large chunk upfront, but I know credit cards and downpayments are a much broader concept in the US.
t. have never been to America
Be Canadian
Have notoriously expensive phone and internet
My phone is only $30 a month
What the fuck America?
Americans take out loans to buy doordash meals, now, with 20% interest.
Yeah but your power costs nothing. I haven't paid less than $100 per month to keep the lights on since I moved here.
You need ~3 to 4 people on your account for maximum savings. Cost per person goes down and everyone pays around $40-$50
Probably doesn't account for family plans either. My bill is $150 for two phones and a smartwatch.
It’s “fewer people”, ESL.
Alright Stannis
Language is merely measured on utility, did you understood what I meant? Yes? Then grammar correction is pointless
Mint is like $25/mo for a 5GB plan, I honestly have no clue how people manage a several hundred dollar phone bill unless they're paying off the phone or are paying GB rates on going over.
Even so the amount is still ridiculous, my shithole gives unlimited calls and 30 gigs of data for 6 bucks a month. What are you guys even paying for?
$141 may sound scary to Eastern Yuros or brown ppl but Americans have effectively unlimited pocket change. The median monthly wage is like $5000.
American here, even I am baffled by how the average American slurps this kind of shit up. I've started to think that the average person around me isn't actually human and just a cold, emotionless android programmed to consume, I survive and live off of 20k meanwhile these ones are bitching that their 6 figure job isn't enough to live off of.
The average American does not live in reality and are spoiled cunts through and through so $141 phone bills are fine, my guess is mobile games are seen as cheap entertainment and most go for the premium priced slop instead because everything here revolves around how much one can spend.
Why don't you get a real job, slave?
he thinks having a better job than the guy making $20k means he isn’t also a slave
You don’t make money working a job, dumb fuck. If you pay income tax rather than capital gains tax, don’t even bother replying to me.
americans spending every dime they own is why the american economy is so large.
currency moves fast so spending is always rolling and moving currency means GDP go up
My phone bill is only $15/month.
Unironically giving blacks slavery reparations would boost the economy bigly, as they would blow the entire amount on the first day.
So how much you pay just for a single person?
being one financial issue away from losing your home is somehow a good thing goy!
i don't think i ever implied that was a good thing but you can keep pretending your imaginary enemies are saying that.
I pay $0 a month because I can just go to the library to use the internet for free. I'm posting on a public library wi-fi right now.
let me tell you how America works!
why do non-Americans always do this?
median family med physician salary in france: €57,500
median family med physician salary in the US: $250,000
I could actually consider one of those "unlimited data" plans if they were actually unlimited data. Most of them aren't.
Is this a falseflag? How could you think the proper response to being made fun of for being gacha cattle in another thread is to make an anti-American thread about it? You just make Americans look based for not playing gacha and your country (which you're too ashamed to actually say the name of) look like cringe gachatards.
I pay £10 for unlimited calls and texts with 15gb of 4g data
I rarely use more than 6 or 7 because there's lots of good wifi aroind
What phone game is even worth playing? Candy Crush? Battle Cats?
Cool, now give us median rents in downtown New York for a one room studio apartment compared to Paris.
Less public transportation = less handheld/phone games. I don't use any either so I have no reason to just use a superior setup at home instead of a screen in my palm.
they're renting phones
amerifats rent everything that's why shlomo can give them 200k to work at a gas station, it doesn't matter because at the end of the day all that money is going back to shlomo's pockets
Rent is about double, while salary is 400% higher (in one of the lowest-paid specialties). Even if I were dumb enough to work in NY, why would I rent?
I spend 20 AUD a year on PAYG credit to keep my number alive and even that feels like overspending
back when i had a phone i used Red Pocket mobile
$5/month for 100 minutes, 100 texts, 500MB data
they have a $2.50/month plan too
Why don't they realise they're being tricked though?
because they're subjected to a lot of propaganda and manipulation and most people are very weak to it because we're a social species and having blind trust in society is important.
Now! mentality. You have to realize that american population at large is extremely individualistic and has very little tolerance for long term national planning made at their immediate expense.
Retards here bemoan greedy corpos that chase fast profit over long term gains but act exactly the same when it comes down to it.
I hate US phone bill costs but I even hate more game companies that force you to verify your account with a US phone number. I am not going to pay 20$ for a 1-day phone to some scummy site to play MapleStory.
btw if there's someone here who will never play a Nexon game (why would you) and is willing to help,
I'll give around 5 dollars on steam: /id/niggbuddha/
monopolies in companies that supply infrastructure
this is the case in Europe too, lots of collusion between telecom companies to keep prices the same, even supermarkets do it
What the fuck are you talking about? People working at a gas station aren't making six figures.
europoors make up lies about america: the thread
It's a rerun...
It's just a little bit of pain before the golden age returns. Just 2 more weeks. Trust the plan.
The difference is, in Europe governments are more willing to keep companies in check.
They're in the age of getting a daily payment plan to cover a pizza delivery.
It's past trickery, they've been conditioned to accept outcomes that other countries make satirical and dystopic fiction about.
how the fuck is that possible i don't even have an option to pay more than 50 dollars per month
BREEDOMS AREND BREE :-DDDDD
