IT'S OVER ANAKIN, I HAVE THE HIGH GROU... *ACK*
IT'S OVER ANAKIN, I HAVE THE HIGH GROU... *ACK*
Kino
I love how Obi just takes so long to process that his reddit tactic didn’t work out the way he expected it to
Well at least he still destroyed the Sith.
And enacted his plan without a hitch. All that remains is to find Polis Massa, and his children, so they can rule the galaxy together.
That's not what happened though. Anakin jobbed and he ended up a triple cripple and a burn victim who probably has to wear diapers now
Didn't Obi Wan kill Darth Maul when he had the high ground? Why does he think it's an insurmountable advantage?
he used it to kill someone else so he's likely been able to come up with his own defence for it.
If he had said it he would've won just like that.
Ok you just murdered the Emperor on basically the same day he proclaimed himself such. How is the galaxy yours? You literally just killed the CIS leadership like an hour ago, the Clone Wars are barely over. What will happen here is mass confusion and anarchy and nobody is recognising any authority in you
Revenge of the Shit showed everyone in the galaxy to be such gigantic fucking retards that he probably could just declare himself the new emperor and they'd just accept it.
The high ground is a point of view.
That's mostly how it went in the first place.
Also the senate is still functioning here and Palpatine was still deriving his legitimacy from it. Most likely the senate just takes control and appoints a new chancellor, I doubt very much legislation on the whole empire thing has been signed yet
There was a civil war being fought(and lost) against the central government, so it makes sense that Palpatine could declare the empire without anyone able to oppose him since he had already been running a de facto dictatorship for several years by then. But the entire thing is dependent on his person and office, some guy killing him doesn't inherit any of that, especially since as far as anyone knows, Anakin is a Jedi and the Jedi are currently trying to kill Palpatine. That's all anyone would assume is happening here, Anakin is a Jedi who assassinated Palpatine
Why did the high ground matter?
Gives Obi-Wan 50 avoid
Lifesaber cant reach that far :(
Say it.
NIGGER
i always found it such a fucking anti-climatic end to the fight + lore on how vader got his injuries.
just jumps and gets sliced lol
you can still keep the overall theme of anakin acting irrationally/hotheaded but not have it end like that.
How would you have done it?
You can't block anti-air attacks while airbone.
Yes he did. Did you watch the video?
i would have listened to him, and that's what no one did.
You might not have a clue on how to write a narrative slightly more complex than the Hero's Journey.
But at least you knew what was cool and what was lame
Well except the Ewoks thing, but the point is that Disney is worse
He gets 80% crit rate with high ground.
he gets a +2 bonus
anakin is a ground unit and doesn't have flying vision
Remember when red light sabers were just synthetic crystals instead of some gay bleeding ritual
Anakin would be unstoppable at this point. He'd probably burn Coruscant to the ground with the Clone Army.
the lava was really hot if you got too close
the only way out was to jump
Noooooo that wasn't supposed to happen
Anakin doesn't have command authority over the whole army, maybe his personal division. Also, Palpatine was probably the Commander-in-chief of the army. I would assume Mos Amedda replaces him?
But at least you knew what was cool and what was lame
yeah i can agree on that, the prequels were garbo, but they introduced many cool elements
isn't overly cocky in his own power
wins because of it
gets to rule the Galaxy (he'll fuck it up because Sheev and had been planning this since before the upstart was even born and had all the connections)
It tracks.
Because Lucas doesn't know anything about combat.
As dumb as Ewoks are, they served a purpose at least
Porgs meanwhile is just pathetic
he would just annihilate the administrative, economic, cultural and bureaucratic centre of his new empire
He made 3 shitty movies then sold out to the mouse. He's the root cause of everything. Fuck that greedy piece of shit and fuck you for trying to give him a pass and act like he's some good guy in this story.
Obi-Wan won because it was running on 2RN instead of 1RN
Anakin was fucking ROBBED
Anakin beating Palpatine
Yeah, no.
return of the jedi
Anti-feat that genuinely makes no sense.
It was 2vs1.
The prequels aren't really all that great, but it did lead to a pretty good era of content through games set in the prequel era or shows set in the prequel eras, plus obviously KOTOR.
What if he wore a rubber suit?
He didn't kill Palestine however
"The sequels are bad so the prequels must be good" was always one of those weird takes that brainlets come up with.
The RotS game was pretty good and even had a fighting game mode that was very broken lul
Man, I miss having this game. Fucking hurricane had to break my shit.
WHAT DOES THE REDDIT FROG HAVE TO DO WITH THAT
He still died.
Wouldn't that have been shortly after the whole Yoda shit? If it's anything like SCIV, dealing with that little green shit is fucking tiring.
But then Anakin should have a similar penalty for just having fought Obi-Wan
Anakin was already officially declared Darth Vader by this point. The 501st recognized him as Vader when he went to the jedi temple and Palpatine had declared the Republic to now be an Empire, so one would assume he does indeed have written authority that can be referenced to by that point. Darth Vader's rank is literally Palpatine's second in command.
Imagine if Han Solo came crashing down on both of them in the Millennium Falcon; that would be pretty funny, I think.
anakin can kill the emperor with an extremely telegraphed attack
starkiller, the guy who pulls a star destroyer out of orbit, can't last for a second against a decrepid old wizard
+10 Weapon Skill
Remind me how the force works again/ Why didnt Obiwan just force push Anakin down the lava, or Anakin force pull Obiwan down with him?
I don't believe the senate would take this so seriously on such short notice. The clones are puppets, but the galaxy at large knows him as Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker, and they would just assume he tricked Palpatine to assassinate him.
I want to feel his gizzard
What if Han Solo was GAY with C3P0?
Not really how it works. Palpatine himself ranked Vader. The most you'd expect is a coup, but officially they'd have to legally instate Vader unless there's some loophole about the new Empire palps just wrote.
He knew Anakin knew about that battle, and about the tactic Obi-Wan used to defeat Maul (jump behind him, then cut), and so baited Anakin into pulling the same tactic. When Anakin jumped behind him Obi-Wan span around and cut off three of Anakin's limbs. Anakin was too blinded by rage and hatred to see that Obi-Wan was leading him on.
He would've been like 5 years old at this point. If he was even born yet.
Then again, the timeline is notoriously fucked with obiwan aging 40 years in fewer than 20
Always appreciated that this one random licensed SW game just decided to go crazy and throw in a bunch of what-if options for the hell of it, you could also play a version of their meeting on the Death Star where Obi-Wan could actually win, although it was fairly difficult
Your moment to moment writing was shit, but man, did you know how to tell a good story.
Obi-wan winning the duel between them makes sense dramatically but why was Palpy so hard over this guy? He couldn't even 1v1 a mid-tier Jedi Master.
ur a faget
Everyone can see Vader is Anakin Skywalker in this scenario, a sitting member of the Jedi Council who was specifically tasked with spying on Palpatine, and perhaps assassinating him as well.
I highly doubt Vader is formally in the line of succession, it would have been brought up. Probably the regent would be Mos Amedda, and I don't know much about him but I doubt he could control the senate the way Palpatine did. I honestly think a restoration of the republican status quo is most likely here.
Anakin was the "chosen one" at the time. Palpatine wins no matter what happens to Anakin at that point
Wasn't Obi-Wan one of the best defensive jedi to ever live which is why he was able to fight people like Grevious and Vander and not get steamrolled?
why was Palpy so hard over this guy?
He beat Count Dooku who was probably the best fighter besides Mace Windu who's a nigger.
Palps dies by made up circumstances, the 501st/clones are arguably loyal to Anakin, again depends on how Palps wrote all this, and thus again legally the most you can except is an investigation that proves he was assassinated, or a coup. Why would anything else happen? All we know for certain is that Vader is second in command to Palps. If the president dies under mysterious circumstances then the vice president takes over until more information can be uncovered.
The equivalent of the vice president is Mos Amedda. Anakin's only formal position within the Republic - and Empire - that we are ever informed of is General of the Army.
If nothing of the events on Mustafar is recorded and all that's known is Anakin returns from there as the only survivor, it would be suspicious at best. I don't see how or why the senate would go along with coronating him even if they don't necessarily think he killed Palpatine, he's not a politician and his background is extremely problematic.
what do you mean? look at the webm
He hadn't reached his fullest potential by then and after his fight with Obi he never would
That + this was when Anakin was his most unstable since he just got done raping a bunch of kids and all his friends. It's also the first time we see the sith eyes as they were never present during the massacre. Obi-wan never won against him while training, but Yoda knew Obi-wan's emotional stability over Anakin's angst would prove him the victor this time.
Han shot first.
A minute long video made in Bink circa 2006 by some intern for a shovelware game?
This is how it feels to be Anakin Skywalker.
Forever.
ROTS is kino.
No, again we assume the empire has already been written based off the announcement at the senate. Mos was the right hand during the Republic, NOT the empire. If you think the empire came too quickly, you stage a coup. Because it's already written, you're already an empire.
This was always stupid to me, same as when Simba was hanging over pride rock with Scar stood above him.
How to you rapidly "jump" with your legs dangling in thin air? catching your enemy by surprise.
I'd be surprised too, like woah! This dude just propelled & launched through the sky using nothing but his hands.
Amedda is still with Palpatine in his office when Yoda intrudes. By all indications his position has not changed.
The empire has been proclaimed but this was literally hours ago. If the senate decided to reverse course, or just crown a different emperor(probably Amedda), there's nothing Anakin could realistically do about it other than stage another rebellion with his 1 shitty division.
Mustafar still gives me chills
Why couldn't the Disney movies deliver such kino like this, nothing in the sequel trilogy even comes close
The Force you dumbass
Obi-wan isn't mid tier for a starter
obi wan beating anakin is the exception, he trained anakin so he would know how to fight him best
palpatine knows this and that's why he tries to get obi wan killed throughout the movie, first on grevious' ship and later when he personally tells cody to execute 66, none of the other commanders were addressed by name like that
Okay but that still doesn't explain Lion King
RLM was wrong and their Prequel review brainwashing took almost a decade to be discarded and influenced everyone down the wrong path and and fuck RLM so fucking much especially for their blatant lies in their review
Ay yo why ain’t Dey just blow up hids ships
Just headcanon the bad nu-canon away
Would have been so kino
Secret Jedi technique that only Obiwan mastered, from his point of view he always has the high ground.
but they introduced many cool elements
They also introduced some of the stupidest shit in Star Wars. The Chosen One prophecy remains terrible.
this
I like to think this is how jedi magic works because it's how neo's powers in the matrix works
I like that they did not include the fact Anakin wanted Palpatine to save Padme,
I assume Anakin would wait until a month after she gives birth before first attempting to Kill him
The movies don't make sense otherwise
I miss these types of games.
Mustafar just brings out the best in any actor.
youtu.be
PC port when
i know ASSPyr fucked up battlefront but they did alright with bounty hunter
He's certainly not stronger than Kit Fisto.
episode 3 was mostly great because they were committed to making a family film corrupt into a tragedy. lucas did do his best to fuck it up but the concept was good enough to support it
Never. They for some reason never remaster games based on actual movies/adaptations they just remaster original titles. I wonder why but it probably has to do something with licensing or some shit like that.
I think it's different, Maul thought he won and was just fucking around waiting for Obi Wan to fall since jump up without his saber was suicide. (Before he got bamboozled by Qui-gon's saber)
Meanwhile Obi Wan was fully prepared for Anikan to lunge at him.
The fact is that Vader was 100% second in command during the normal empire and it's accepted that he would succeed Palpatine. In my opinion however during the Mace fight, Vader was already second in command the moment he knelt and his status along with the empire itself was already pre-written long before this. The sith also do things differently, Vader was militarily and politically useless, yet he was a powerful sith lord which makes him more exceptional than all the regular people. This is why Tarkin was more important to Palps than Vader despite being ranked lower than him. Vader knew his place, and his position meant nothing because Palpatine was supremely powerful. Mos no longer held any power now that the empire was formed. He was given a formal high rank, then abandoned as proven by the events of the empire. He was nowhere to be found and held no influence, even when the empire fell he failed to gather any supporters. It was just Palpatine, his important generals, and Vader. This is why I have no reason to doubt that Vader was second in command after the Mace fight, ESPECIALLY during that time in fact before his fight with Obi-wan. Vader was THE most important asset in the galaxy, and Palps had no reason to believe that would ever change. Him losing the fight is what changed everything, but even then he was still second in command. So it stands to reason if he was still considered so important by Palps when he was nerfed, he'd be considered even more so pre-nerf, looking at things from a sith point of view. The chosen one is now on my side, he is now the second in command because politics don't actually matter. I am the emperor and a powerful sith lord, thus it is so.
*carries your film*
Funny how his political machinations become a 1000 times more powerful when you can see them being applied to real life in real time.

Are any of the modern star wars games good?
Obi-Wan went from a Padawan pawn that survived Darth Maul in the first film, to one of the standout commanders in the Clone Wars that nothing could stop. Dude trained Anakin and thus was the biggest obstacle to making Anakin into Darth Vader if the two ever came to blows, he was a one-jedi-army depending on the story depiction, he basically was the single most capable force in Palpatine's attempts to take control that were all having to accommodate for the fact that Obi-Wan was the only Jedi Master that wasn't a fucking moron blindly overlooking everything. In a way, it makes sense why Palpatine focused on him so much: while Yoda was the wisened veteran that would be on par with Palpatine personally, Obi-Wan was the real paragon of the Jedi, the representation of everything Palpatine opposed.
Fallen Order and Survivor are great.
battlefront 2 post-patching is a nice little modding haven to fucking around and mechanically solid, it's just the story is avoid playing it tier
henshin a go go baby
Disney made some of the best movies of all time. Stop being such a faggot contrarian. It's not a personality to just hate everything.
Palpatine betrays him right before Anakin killed him, why didn't he just reveal his plot to him then?
Seeing a girl with nice tits wearing hardcore nerd stuff like a proper full body wizard's gab is so hot. I wish it was done more often instead of making a "nerdy thing, but skimpy". Full body plate armor instead of a mini battle skirt for instance.
honestly as stupid as IX was I could never be mad at McDiarmid for taking the role, he just has so much fun playing Sheev
It was originally planned were Dooko was going to plead for his life saying something like 'Anikan, wait! Palpatine is not who he appears!' before he was killed But Christopher Lee, Dooku's actor axed it because he felt it was unbecoming of Dooku and just took his death in silence.
Mustafar is too long. I was getting bored even when I was 13. Cut it down by half and it would be enough to redeem the boring ass 2nd movie.
He was right.
looks official to me
youtu.be
I actually forgot Dooku already tried to tell Obi-wan, but no one believed him.
Having the Doggu dressed as Anikan
They knew
one of the standout commanders in the Clone Wars that nothing could stop.
Except for the fact that he utterly jobbed to Dooku 2v1.
Obi-Wan was the real paragon of the Jedi, the representation of everything Palpatine opposed.
While I do agree with this sentiment, it really speaks to how low the Jedi had fallen at that point. They deserved to collapse. It was Obi-Wan that failed Anakin in the first place.
Anakin was the weaker fighter but is canonically the strongest force user we ever see in the entire franchise. He is basically space jesus and even has visions of the future that come true.
Palpatine says his master could revive the dead, but that was probably just bullshit to get anakin to turn. Since he knew anakin was worried about the vision of padme dying.
Anakin secured a kill tho. he levelled up, restoring his health and force points. As a Sith he also got a temporary boost to all attributes through Absorbed Suffering.
Palp spent 30 minutes spamming Force Lightning and Force Push at yoda without even getting any damage through.
Anakin starts at full HP/FP, higher level than Palp was expecting, and huge temp bonuses. Palp starts distracted, blue-balled, with basically no FP.
Oh, and Anakin got initiative sneak-attack for massive damage. gg ez
the prequels are kino
The moves are very weird and inconsistent about how skilled or powerful the Jedi and Sith are, honestly. Expanded material makes some of these characters out to be massive badasses and they have their moments elsewhere, then you see the main films and they often stumble around like dumbasses so the plot can continue.
Also I don't think most will disagree with the Jedi Order's fall, it's just the problems that it brought that are the big concern; I think even Yoda and Obi-Wan later on agree that the order was effectively a bunch of trite that would've shit the bed eventually for their terrible decisions and decadence.
Anakin is like 30 years younger at least and in peak physical condition. Palpatine would have died to windu too if anakin didn't save him.
To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to fully understand and utilize the High Ground
Emperor dies
Operation Cinder goes into effect
Guess ol' Palps got the last laugh
He definitely could have done it. That was the entire reason Palps wanted him in the first place.
George Lucas confirmed that Palpatine DID lose the fight against Mace Windu. He didn't throw the fight on purpose. He just pulled his trick when he sensed Anakin coming, which he predicted. He predicted Mace would defeat him.
Anakin after turning to the dark side, and if he'd defeated Obi-wan, would have been strong enough to defeat Windu and therefor strong enough to kill Palpatine.
That was the whole tragedy of Anakin being burned and crippled - that godlike potential was lost and Palpatine tried to salvage what he could because he needed a servant, but Vader was no longer truly worthy of replacing Palps
so the instant he finds out about Luke he wants him instead
that was floor not ground
Hating the sequels is not contrarian its popular opinion. Kill yourself nigger
I would have tanked that.
from a certain point of view, Obi-wan still had the high ground in that encounter
I'm surprised you're still alive.
Good ol' Christopher Lee
youtube.com
Darth Maul nearly running over Anakin was hilarious.
Why would Palpatine want Anakin to replace him? isnt his whole thing being immortal?
>George Lucas confirmed that Palpatine DID lose the fight against Mace Windu. He didn't throw the fight on purpose.
Then why did he keep zapping himself in the face?
youtube.com
kino on a whole other level tbqh
The duels in the OT mog the prequels so hard. ROTJ is entirely carried by Luke's interactions and duel with Vader.
Well maybe it was like a Rey situation where if Anakin killed Palpatine he'd get to take his body
The obi-wan series has a few flashbacks that show obi-wan defeating anakin in one of their duels.
Yes, Disney is canon.
ROTJ is entirely carried by Luke's interactions and duel with Vader.
Which is good because the rest of the film is hot garbage
I fucking love makashi
Two main reasons
sympathy from Anakin, he wanted to look like he was dying
he later used his scarred form as proof of the brutality of the jedi's attack on him, and it worked because the senate was massively sympathetic to him
I watch Jabba's Palace and then tune out until the Luke scenes happen again. Highest peak of the series but god damn everything else that happens is such a waste of time.
Ok so why did he zap himself in TRoS?
As long as he's alive, he can destroy the Resistance fleet
If Rey tries to kill him, he gets her body
He should've just ignored her, there was nothing she could do
What Anakin needed above all else was one guy who could turn to him and say "alright you fucked up pretty bad with this Padme business but it doesn't matter because you're my fucking bro and we'll all get through this together." He did in fact have that guy, but it was Sheev when it absolutely needed to be Obi-Wan
I appreciate that even after Anakin became Vader and changed his style he was still an absolute fucking menace in terms of saber combat, despite all of the retcons and whatnot that changed how duels worked. He might not be as agile as he used to be, but the dude's still a walking tank. I think if he was just as athletic as he was as a Sith Lord as when he was a Jedi, he'd literally have no equal.
the Ewoks thing,
Ewoks existed to sell toys. Lucas' money was 90% from marketing and paraphernalia.
Are you telling me you didn't have a Wicket plush in the 80s?
George Lucas' creative vision, though absolutely wild and needs to be tamed at times, is infinitely better than whatever slop Disney can pump out.
There, I fucking said it.
I think TROS is his best performance in the part, too. He gives a transcendent eeriness. Bringing back the Emperor doesn't bother me all that much despite how lazy it is; it's everything else (including the context of it) that does. Still, McDiarmid delivers.
disney garbage
Not canon
Some people use pain as an incentive
It's more just prequels being in prime nostalgia territory now.
It's sad to me seeing young Mark Hamill, because he went from someone who looked like he was a complete boy scout to just a genuine fucking piece of human garbage
This shit went insane when I was like 12.
that's weird
you'd think with the 20th anniversary of ROTS they'd at least do something with the game based on the movie
He's this mad that Hamill is still part of the Rebellion against the Empire
Ok so why did he zap himself in TRoS?
because the sequels were poorly written garbage with no coherent outline and they couldn't figure out a better way to kill off palpatine
I guess mace windu should've just had 2 lightsabers instead of 1, what a doofus
He was always a tank in his style. I forget all the style names, but the one Anakin used was the power type and it's why he was able to take down Dooku because he just brute forced through Dooku's defenses. Obi-Wan only survived because his style was the only hard counter to Anakin's and he still nearly lost.
It needed to be Qui-Gon actually. Lucas said the whole reason the song that plays during the Ep1 duel is called "duel of the fates" is because that's when Anakin's fate was decided
Qui-gon would have been the right mentor for Anakin, and been able to get through to him and teach him the patience and maturity he needed to overcome his future obstacles
Obi-wan was decidedly NOT a good master for Anakin, and never would be, so Anakin's fate was sealed when Qui-gon lost and died.
Wishing your daughter had gotten an abortion so you wouldn't have grandchildren is pretty fucking evil, bro
Dooku lose because he was old. Dooku style is the best style for duelists.
Is this from the 16mm version? The 16mm versions of the OT are so hard to find these days, fucking jew disney constantly tears them down every time they pop up somewhere.
From my point of view, I have the high ground.
Anakin was always a shitty duelist
This is old EU lore, but in some ways Anakin's injuries were a boon to him. As you noted, he was far less agile, but his cybernetic limbs DRASTICALLY increased the amount of physical power he could put into each blow, hence him easily one-hand blocking power blows from others, and his restricted mobility also forced him to polish his skills to the utmost level so that there was never any wasted movement, and he was always protecting and countering from all possible angles.
Even in the force, though he lost out on his full prodigious power he would have had if not injured, that loss of power forced him to focus on making the absolute most out of his abilities and applying them intelligently
You can see that Anakin pre-injury never really uses the force during combat, maybe a jump or a push here or there, but it's a very blunt application of the force. Vader used it in much more creative ways because his injuries forced him to.
Look up the source
Some right wing British rag and social media
You're just looking for a reason to be bitchy.
He was considered like the 3rd or 4th best pure swordsman in the order and he was constantly improving every day
kys leftoid nigger
So
Yoda
Dooku
Mace
Obi Wan
Anakin?
be actor
refuse to say line
More of these people need fired.
Concession accepted
Even in the force, though he lost out on his full prodigious power he would have had if not injured
Everything about this was always fucking stupid.
Doesn't vader basically need to channel the force at all times because palpitations gave him shitty cybernetics?
the "right" just means someone who is "correct" these days. the "left" is someone that believe lies.
Most Reddit post ITT and that's saying a lot considering we're in a Star Wars thread
My first crush. I miss her.
Yoda and Mace were equals as duelists, but yoda was a better force user.
Dooku was the third
you can't wear plate armor if you have massive tits. it doesn't work. this conundrum has faced cartoon artists for generations at this point
if you count Dooku as part of the order, sure
I'd say Dooku was behind Mace though
Mace was a better pure swordsman than Yoda, but Yoda was better with the force
So on lightsaber skills purely, it's
Mace > Yoda > Dooku > Obi-Wan > Anakin
though Lucas has said that Anakin was the superior duelist on Mustafar, and only lost because of his erratic mental state and the fact that Obi-wan was intimately familiar with his style so he was able to find the few cracks in it and exploit them
Gunga Money
Happy George
I mean, not as such I feel. Like the first example you can think of is that he had no way to use or defend against Force Lightning, that's why Sheev always bullied him with Force Lightning.
Stop being upset your hatchet job against Mark failed.
Yeah, that was part of the old lore too
I don't mind that most of that was excised, it was always kind of stupid
They started out with
the suit was really painful and uncomfortable so vader was always pissed off and it helped draw out the dark side in him
but then subsequent writers just went full retard with Vader Torture Porn and started adding things like
Palpatine made the suit shitty on purpose and even did things like make the buttons beep randomly for no reason just to fuck with Vader
sometimes his breathing machinery would just short-circuit for a few seconds, also just to fuck with him, so he could never get any decent rest
etc etc
they got absurd with it
Current Disney canon is that the suit actually makes him stronger.
don't know what you mean, just helping with definitions
credits will do fine
a one week reshowing of RoTS earned $42m
How does modern lucasfilm cope?
It really would suck to go full darkside by slaughtering children and burning your whole life and legacy down
and then it's like
You have done well to dedicate yourself this much to the dark side. But you can never use the Ultimate Endgame Sith Ability of lightning. Loser.
It's really good too, Lightning is like an instant I-win button. Too bad vader.
He made modifications to his suit over time. Remember, he built fucking C-3PO when he was a kid.
Your shitty attempt at mind power doesn't work here kiddo. You're wrong, I'm right. Mark nothing wrong.
They should do a what-if game based on this.
made modifications to his suit
didnt modify his suit to fix its ultimate weakness : Force lightning
I didn't include Qui-Gon because he was long dead at that point, but yeah he'd have been the ideal
The arc reactor hadn't been invented yet.
What the fuck the coucil was thinking when they
delegated a fucking "Rookie" as the master of the most promising force user of all time? This was retarded as fuck.
They literally can't because they're a bunch of executives in suits with the odd dyke in the room with pink and blue hair that don't understand what Star Wars actually is
yeah he was the only one who was just outside of the jedi orthodoxy enough to actually deal with the grey areas of Anakin's problems
like for the opposite example, just look at what Yoda does when Anakin comes to him
hey master Yoda I'm really fucked up mentally man, I had a premonition about my mother dying a while back and it ended up coming true. I know that I can see my loved ones dying coming through force visions. I feel like I should be powerful enough to save them, but I can't. My faith in the entire foundation of our order is beign shaken and I don't know what to do. I'm about to fucking go crazy, man
and Yoda is like
Bro, just like....let go of all the things you love. Have a nice day, chosen one.
nigga had nothing for him
The Disney SHITquels will never have a moment as KINO as the OPUSquels.
They were just incompetent, that's the only real logical takeaway from the prequels. The Jedi were kind of fools and got taken out by their own hubris.
They gave Anakin to Obi-wan because "Qui-gon made me promise I'd train the child" and probably because none of the other Jedi wanted to take the responsibility of training this fucking kid
Even later on when they're asking him to spy on Palpatine, Mace is saying to Yoda
It's VERY dangerous putting those two together...
but they just fucking do it anyway
and mind you this is AFTER Mace says TWICE or even THREE TIMES shit along the lines of
I sense a plot to destroy the jedi
I sense the dark side surrounding the chancellor
Someone is fucking with our ability to see things clearly through the force, and our judgement is misguided because of it
but these were apparently minor concerns
Didn't Palps told Dooku to take it easy on Anakin?
The Council didn't want Anakin trained. He's too old.
Obi Wan trained him because Qui Gon told him to when he was dying. A dying request.
None of them believed he was the one though "so the rookie wants to train this literally who yeah fine fuck it why not"
raise a kid for 10 years telling him that he's the literal chosen savior of the galaxy, the most important person who has or ever will live, and destined to be the most powerful and awesome jedi ever
WTF why is this kid so ARROGANT?
i dont know man it's a mystery
I wish I knew it was only a week long, I would have gone and seen it.
chosen one or not though, they had previously already decided he was not to be trained
Mace clearly said "the boy is dangerous" and the other masters agreed, too old, no training, get him outta here
Nothing changed after the Naboo fiasco. They just suddenly decided "nevermind you can train him" because...Qui-gon made him promise? But they already told Qui-gon NO.
Unfortunately, wether intentional or not, the only message you can really take away from the prequels about the Jedi is that they were kind of stupid and incompetent.
This feels like a Robot Chicken episode.
Would he be any better under Qui Gon instead Obi Wan?
The story is a tragedy, the Jedi failing Anakin is as intentional as Anakin's massive insecurity problems.
People miss warning signs that might as well be signal lights in real life too. There are several points in the overarching story that would have led to a different outcome, but those didn't happen, and what we're left with is a tragedy.
What I mean is the way the story had to contort itself to justify Darth Vader being a glorified henchman after the deeply awful Chosen One retcon. It's all just muddled and unnecessary.
prequels were shit. lol I can't even imagine trying to justify them as even watchable
I dunno, the story of a Chosen One not living up to his potential because of his hubris can always work, it's just that the OT were never about Vader so after Anakin's hubris you have to go to the EU for the continuation.
Shadows of the Empire's novel has a nice bit showing one of Vader's meditation sessions. He'd expose himself to the open air and basically tap hard into the Dark Side while forcing himself to breathe. He could actually achieve a limited amount of recovery and healing but the Dark Side being the tricky bitch that is would falter and abandon him the moment thoughts of Luke would enter his mind
Qui-gon was the least "orthodox" jedi master in the council at that time and he believed the jedi order was too arrogant and stiffed. He would've been the best master for anakin because he would teach him how to deal with shit like love and loss.
Because that was the a monumental moment that changed Obi-Wan's life and helped shaped who he would become, so he naturally went over that fight again and again and created counters along with counters for those counters. Obi-Wan is the most knowledgeable duelist to ever exist for this one, specific scenario bar none. You could view it as sort of a test from Obi-Wan, in that he was checking to see if there was any bit of reason left in Anakin or if he was so full of rage and hubris that he would rise to the slightest provocation.
It's high ground way I mean Jedi way HIGH GROUND!
Yeah but in this case it doesn't, in part because the prophecy was retarded.
Yes, Lucas himself said as much. Qui-gon was the only person who would have been able to properly mentor Anakin, hence the tragedy of his death paving the way for an improperly trained Anakin under Obi-Wan.
none of the Jedi raised the alarm bells when they saw their messiah who lived his entire life in celibacy be blatantly tempted by a 10/10 older woman
destroys his franchise and then sells it to Disney so they can rape it's corpse
I kneel George, peak jewish behavior.
It was under wildly trying circumstances and despite his maverick nature Qui-Gon was one of the most respected Jedi around, Yoda basically looked at Obi-Wan and said "Made you promise to train him that motherfucker did? ... well, shit"
not only that, but they then immediately sent them off to Space Venice, the most romantic place in the galaxy, just the two of them
so he could be her "bodyguard" in a luxury palace while she prances around with her titties pushed out
Why was Vader so invested in the construction and maintenance of the Death Star? Because he knows Obi-wan can't have the high ground if there's no ground left.
lol
It's easy to hate on Anakin for being whiny and angsty, but he really did just get completely fucked over by the people who were supposed to be guiding and teaching him. Mace always came across as a dickbag hardass, and Obi-Wan had his own issues going on and was a little too dedicated to the teachings, but what was Yoda's excuse with having a fucking millenia of seeing people fall to the dark side and not thinking maybe some shit needs to change?
in awe at how much of a cunt Obi-Wan is that he had his own princess gf but couldn't even be fucked to give Anakin advice.
Yoda really has no excuse. He simply failed. He knew it at the end too, he was ashamed when he went into exile.
Even letting the Jedi enter the war at all was the beginning of his failings. It's as though his years of experience and wisdom left him blind to the fact that he could still be wrong. Even though he had doubts the whole time, once the ball started rolling, he had no idea how to stop it.
It's not like he's any better in the OT, either
He's training Luke to go fight Vader but he can easily tell that Luke has no fucking chance of defeating him. And even if he does by some miracle defeat Vader, he's got NOTHING to protect himself against the Emperor.
now, without the prequels, we don't have that problem
but with the prequels, we know that Yoda knew Palpatine could shoot fucking lightning. Didn't bother warning Luke about that.
And their backup plan was LEIA
lmao
Mickiest plot-induced win con ending ever, Anakin was stronger than Sheev at this point
Han was successful because he wore a vest, everybody wears a jacket so Finn never stood out.
By putting out more stream slop spinoffs in order to continue beating the dead corpse of the franchise. Lucas is a hack and should have never sold off the series to the mouse jew.
but what was Yoda's excuse with having a fucking millenia of seeing people fall to the dark side and not thinking maybe some shit needs to change?
Yoda didn't finally get the message until Luke. In Luke he wasn't too concerned about his combat ability (in the novel version of Empire he trains him more or less to the point of other PT-era Jedi) but he was absolutely certain Luke couldn't handle the revelation of Vader. At best he would kill him, at worst he would turn him. When Luke told him off, faced Vader anyway, saved his friends and didn't die OR turn he finally realized Luke wasn't the last of the old Jedi, but the first of the new.
Could he really have prevented Anakin from going Sith?
be wrong about everything
get completely BTFO
get a second chance in the form of Luke
be wrong about everything AGAIN
How did they do it? How do the Jedi be so fucking insufferable than people can't choose between them and the space crackhead warlocks
He probably would have been a much better father figure than Obi-wan. Anakin needed a father figure and not a brother figure like Obi-wan.
Yes, he wasnt an orthodox boomer like the rest of the jedi masters in the council and would've teach anakin how to deal with shit such Love, loss and hubris.
word of god says yes (lucas)
duel of the fates was literally the duel for anakin's fate
Qui-Gon was the outlaw of the Jedi Council who had no problem using his emotions when the rest of the council would go ballistic over that idea. He's unironically be the only one who could train Anakin to channel his emotions to being a force of good, and if he still fucked Padme, find a way to cover for him.
Okay, you've just fired famed actor Christopher Lee. You now have no Dooku. What do? Kill him off screen? Recast him? People were already pissed off that he was left out of the third LOTR film, imagine if George did it again with this.
A huge part of being a director is learning how to roll with the punches and just make things work. Getting rid of him would have made things 100 times more difficult, no matter how badly you wanted him to say the line.
From a moralistic perspective he would've been a proper figure that knew how to actually guide someone like a father; he'd already been doing it with Obi-Wan. From a logical perspective, he would've worked outside the box of the Jedi Order's traditions, granting Anakin a means to not crash and burn horribly against the disregard and negligence of the Council. Would it been as perfect as George Lucas envisioned the theoretical? Probably not. But it probably wouldn't have clashed like Obi-Wan and Anakin did.
And their backup plan was LEIA
Isn't Leia supposed to be Rey tier in terms of force potential with Disney canon?
Obi-wan did see the alarm bells and told him to get a grip, the counsel didn't because they almost never saw the two together. In 2 Obiwan objects to Anakin's assignment since he's not mature, but Yoda said they have trust in him.
This narrative is dumb, Anakin's idea of security was keeping her under lock and key with a shitton of security, she was the one who suggested the hidden location where nobody would think to look. If even Anakin wasn't jumping at the bit to voyage off together, there isn't any way the counsel could have predicted it.
I don't think anyone can deal with the heartbreak of losing prime Natalie Portman
Yeah, people often forget that Yoda didn't intend for Luke to redeem Vader
He just wanted him to fucking murder him
As shitty as Anakin is, it's entirely the fault of the Jedi. They turned him into a brooding, anxiety ridden, sociopath.
All Anakin needed was one guy like Qui-gon to say
Hey the Jedi are actually all faggots so who gives a shit what they think and what rank you are
and even that alone probably would have at least kept Anakin from handing power over to Palpatine.
but Yoda said they have trust in him.
"just stop being afraid, bro"
stellar advice, how come nobody ever thought of that before
dies by being stabbed by a lightsaber
Well, he's the weakest jedi by far.
yeah but this was 50 years before disney canon was a thing
They turned him into a brooding, anxiety ridden, sociopath.
by definition the Jedi are more sociopathic due to their complete unwillingness to form attachments
Being a good mentor is not power. You can be the strongest jedi ever and be a dogshit mentor.
KINO
In most cases, yes; but if they can give a good enough reason, it can work for the better. Could you really see Dooku ratting out Palpatine, or would he stay loyal upon death?
prime Natalie Portman
being in Phantom Menace, obviously
Ok but have you considered PREGNANT PADME SEXO UOOOOHH SWOLLEN HERSHLAG BELLY IN MY FACE? Checkmate nuwars redditors.
Luke is a great example of a that. He was an absolute dogshit mentor to kylo ren.
I thought this was the actual ending of the movie for years
Ok you just murdered the Emperor on basically the same day he proclaimed himself such. How is the galaxy yours?
Of all the people who would have dirt on the Emperor being a sith, it's Anakin. He outright admitted to his face he was a Sith Lord, the only reason he didn't just report him immediately and win was because he was on the edge himself.
only a sith deals in absolutes...
One of the funniest things I remember reading is that jedi were 100% okay with knights/masters going out to bang random whores without a care in the world, but god forbid you have sex with someone where feelings are involved. You're right, genuinely an entire religious order of emotionally stunted sociopaths.
IX showed she could match Luke under training which doesn't really seem all that far-fetched given their twin nature, but she simply chose not to become an 'offical' Jedi for whatever reason. The EU had her kinda ignore or otherwise resent Jedi bullshit for a long time. One book had Ghost Anakin try to council her during some crisis. She turned to him and said "Luke may have forgiven you but I distinctly remember you torturing me on the Death Star at length, GTFO and don't come back" and sent him packing. She came around eventually but the EU timeline is like 50-60 years
....isn't that an absolute?
uhm it was the moral high ground not literally
When will we get more Lop is the question
what did you say?
absolutely not
SIth operate for hundreds of years to subvert a working government system to implement ... THEIR OWN VERSION OF GOOD GOVERNANCE
Huh?
you could have an absolute fucking scumbag of a Jedi who fucks all the whores in the cosmos, dispenses justice like a robot and has no real regard for life because it's all just the Force anyways bro
and he would be a model jedi
Disney made some of the best movies of all time
Shame none of them were Star Wars movies.
OY VEY
This is why Kyle Katarn is the coolest
No I WILL Marry my true love
No I WILL use the force in anger
No I WILL kill every sith in the galaxy, twice.
Shut the fuck up Luke
reminds me of TOR where you could play a Light Sided Sith and baffle the galaxy by being more well adjusted mentally than the good guys and not being a cackling psychopath
I'm willing to buy that he was a shit teacher if they could tell a convincing story but they have yet to do anything right with Ben's story. In the EU he was so terrified of fucking up training new Jedi that he legit "practiced" on non-Force users
What was the point of those floating platforms in the lava?
It's such an idiotic dialogue choice that was most likely just written without a thought to what it actually entails. It'd be like if two gun men were fighting and one says "Give it up, I got one more bullet than you do." But they're both still using a loaded lethal weapon. It's retarded.
He doesn’t. He was goading Anakin. He knew he was consumed by rage and would rise to his challenge, and so was prepared to counter him. It’s like tossing out a taunt in a fighting game and setting up an anti-air when you know they’ll jump in.
delete his hot redhead wife
make him a shit master
retcons away his bullshit space wizard powers like sealing away Satan and throwing black holes at ships
why do they hate him so much?
I wonder, did palps have a contingency plan if the whole turning anakin over to the darkside scheme didn't work?
Dooku left the Jedi Order because he disagreed with their philosophy
Nobody cared, they let him leave
He's still highly respected
They even defend his character when he's suspected of being a terrorist
so why didn't Anakin just leave?
Be like "sorry guys but I fell in love and knocked up Padme. I'm marrying her and leaving the order"
the fuck are they gonna do? Force him to stay?
He was a white male.
I know some people like the EU but man that shit looks like bad fanfiction 9/10 times.
Everything about muh grey force users in particular seems to completely miss the point.
I think it's a bit different when you're Jedi Jesus
The galaxy is his because he’s the sole remaining Force user and would murder anyone that challenged him.
He was a white straight male. Disney hates that.
Their only way to realistically stop him would be by force
Not a great look
Contrarian nigger, everyone hated the movies from the first theatrical viewing and we didn't need youtube to prove it cause it didn't exist yet. The sequel trilogy sucking doesnt automatically make the dogshit prequels any better. In fact TFA is a more competent sci-fi film than any of Lucas's pathetic writing and dialogue.
yeah, in the canon Clone Wars cartoon (yes it's canon it was written by Lucas) Palpatine has a side gig going on where he's abducting and cataloguing the locations of force-sensitive children in the galaxy
If Anakin didn't work out, he would have found another apprentice somewhere else. Just like he found someone to replace Maul, etc etc
It wouldn't have been ideal, since he REALLY wanted the chosen one, and Anakin's potential power, but even that got fucked once he was burned up in Lava and crippled
Palpatine basically kept him around as long as he did because, even with Vader weakened from what he could have been, he was still far above any possible future replacements (until Luke came along)
I actually thought his projection halfway across the Galaxy was pretty fucking up there with his EU shenanigans, the choice of making him regretful of fucking up Ben while also still treating him like dogshit was fucking baffling. Hell I was actually hyped because the Yoda scene finally remembered that turning Force Ghost was just supposed to be another step on the ladder and not the end, taking you completely out of mortal affairs, Luke "dying" shouldn't have mattered
Nice headcanon
you fags will glorify anything that's unanimously agreed as bad, it's hilarious. Billy Mitchel, prequel trilogy, you name it.
why didn't anakin just force choke him from the low ground
I hate TLJ and most of what they did to Luke but you have to admit that using the force to project your presence across the entire galaxy, sacrificing your life to buy time for a glimmer of hope, all while confronting the enemy with total pacifism (not only does he make no aggressive moves, but he's not even physically there and couldn't harm Kylo even if he wanted to) is probably THE most quintessentially Jedi-like action possible
It's basically the entire jedi philosophy on ideal conflict resolution put into practice. A true act of mastery.
bitch i was there in -99 and everyone shat on phantom garbage
Remember when red light sabers were just synthetic crystals instead of some gay bleeding ritual
Until I read this it was still synthetic crystals, I'll just pretend you're mentally ill since I'm never touching anything nustarwars.
force powers working on other force users is extremely inconsistent
sometimes it appears like relatively equally-matched opponents can't affect eachother with the force like that
then sometimes you can just choke a person even if they're stronger in the force than you
wildly inconsistent
the answer is because it would've been anti-climactic and Anakin had to lose the fight because that's the story
reminder Lucas' vision of TFA would have Darth Talon Anon Babbleing Luke's son. Instead we get the adventures of woman and nigger
Too bad it's after the fact that they completely ruined Luke as a character by having him try to kill Kilo in the first place
unanimously
Nice headcanon
Pretty sure it shows workers standing on them at one point. Maybe they all evacuated once the facility started sinking. But it's probably just so we can see a cool fight on lava.
Giga based if true
Should have gotten her, too
whole other level
Big budgets were all like that in the 80's. I chalk it up to crew competence rather than writing, directing or acting.
The sequels should have had their whole story planned out before they started, but barring that, with what we got, I honestly think they would have turned out better if the last one actually ran with stuff from the last jedi instead of just trying to walk it all back.
I actually liked the concept that Luke still struggled with his fears even years later, and you see in the scene that he realizes "what the fuck am I doing?" the only thing he did wrong was keeping his lightsaber on.
Why are normalfaggots hyping up andor so much? It just seems like your typical didney EU slop.
Looks more official than Disney's Star Wars
Trying to revise history. The IDEA of the prequels is good, but the execution and acting was unarguably bad. The video games and Clone Wars are easily better prequel replacements solely cause it's not Hayden's mopey droney voice. The PS2 game is awesome, no one of taste says the prequels are good sci-fi movies.
Because it's slightly better than what we've gotten ever since Disney bought the IP
y'know what's crazy about Kylo's "redemption" in the final movie?
That's not Han as a Force Ghost talking to him. Han is just dead. That's just Kylo's imagination.
He's literally standing there having a hallucination/daydream of what his dad MIGHT say IF he forgave him
that's funny as fuck to me
Are the modern Star Wars games (made by EA and funded by Disney) any good?
Come on, now.
This could have worked IF they didn't portray him as an absolute loser the whole movie.
Also if it wasn't for the fact the running theme of Jedi's pacifism being their only real weakness.
genuinely one of the strongest force users alive and a fellow edgelord out-edged a winded old wizard
strong force user sperm baby isn't trusted at all by old wizard
Palpatine was probably genuinely shocked that Anakin would kill him given the whole thing about Anakin needing him to learn force healing or whatever sort of necromancy his father knew
There's something truly ironic about the fact that all throughout the Sequel Trilogy, Luke, Han, and Leia never once share screentime together as a trio, and now one of them is actually dead so they'll never get the opportunity back.
Kino
Do you think disney actually cares about the failure of the new trilogy? I'm sure they made even via merch and such but I think even they realize it wasn't as big of a phenomenon as it could have been.
Book of boba was good for like the first 3 episodes then it went to shit.
Anakin in his prime still beats Starkiller, Starkiller beats Vader beacuse he's in his crappy mobility scooter of a suit..
By far the best parts of the prequels was all the galactic stuff and the setting filler. The story was relatively mundane but that's also because it had to cram in 30 years of anakin in 6 hours while also handwaving away his lore. But damn was all the prequel shit and the choreography cool as hell
So what would actually happen? Would Padme live, or would Anakin end up with two kids and a galaxy to run?
holy fucking kino
Would Padme live
I think it's pretty well choreographed that Anakin's completely fucked mental state is what contributed to her dying.
I actually thought his projection halfway across the Galaxy was pretty fucking up there with his EU shenanigans
Luke in Dark Empire does it pretty casually ten years into his career while being semi-mind controlled by Palpatine
i miss being 10 and playing star wars galaxies for the first time...
youtube.com
are the private server(s) worth playing?
They absolutely care and that's why you're seeing them force it to share spotlight with the older films, while also focusing on their actually somewhat popular streaming offerings. The new trilogy bombed by every metric that matters and they're currently working through that.
I don't remember specifically what it was, but I remember one of the vidya entries explaining that force choke is just precision telekinesis and that even if you catch an opponent offguard, they can easily counter and send you flying with their own telekinesis since just pushing someone around doesn't require anywhere near as much focus. You also can't attack and defend with telekinesis at same time unless you completely outclass the other person.
Yeah despite not being perfect the prequels had really good world building, something the new trilogy was severely lacking in. I feel like if the prequels were stretched across another movie or two and had the pacing of ROTS they would have been better received.
Obi-Wan Kenobi... Is dead.
Alright, anons, what are your Star Wars hot takes?
To begin: I actually kind of like the Ewoks, the scene where they think 3PO is a god is genuinely funny. I don't think they should have gotten as much screen time as they did, but I don't hate them.
Action-centric movies don't really have time for the slice of life elements we have nowadays for setting, it would have been kino though
I think Starkiller is a better force-wielder than Anakin if we're looking at peak potential but Starkiller wasn't nearly in-tune with it as Anakin was, as well as Anakin is probably better at saber combat. Hard to say though since the game is basically a really cool power fantasy
The synth crystal explanation was also pretty lousy, but the Sith all exclusively using red lightsabers was the real problem.
Filtered.
Is duel of fates genuinely the best thing to come of phantom menace?
From my point of view, the prequel era IS star wars. No matter how much oldfags wank the original trilogy, Star Wars is Jedi and Sith having lightsaber duels and cool force powers, not the ragtag adventures of rebels with a tiiiiny fraction of cool stuff at some points.
But to be fair, I know all of that was new and ground breaking when SW first released. But just humans with blasters, spaceships and robots doesn't cut it nowadays, it's THE standard space adventure. What makes SW unique and interesting is everything before Order 66 was executed.
A heavy majority of criticism about the 6 episodes, ewoks and jaba's palace included, are exasperated to comical degrees. The amount of ire they draw would make you think that they're minions tier.
It's the best Star Wars has been in decades, despite not being all that Star Wars-y.
I wish he would have
Yeah my thoughts exactly, phenomenal worldbuilding in prequels and they set a great framework for some good stories (clone wars chiefly). I think the nu-trilogy tried to do something similar but everything it introduced was just contrived and stupid nonsense like the hyperspeed kamikaze, force healing, the weird force marriage thing. The new order was dripped out the ass in a good way and Kilo looked extremely cool, but that was about it for the movies
It was by no means perfect but he "got" being a Jedi better in terms of looking at the entire history of the franchise and taking its best bits than just about anyone else. How fucking crazy would have been for Luke to just show up and save the fucking day with the new cast, finally accepting his fuckups and forgiving Ben for being a cunt while rooting out whoever was pulling the strings and funding the new war. "Luminous Beings are We, not this Crude Matter" was supposed to be the fucking phrase that tied everything together, not "May the Force be with you"
probably not a hot take for Anon Babble but the Exile is far more interesting than Revan
Luke and Leia should have ended up together regardless of being twins I fucking hate normalfag cinema they were so cute together.
Ahsoka is worse than Jar Jar ever was.
The whole kyber crystals determining the color was silly to begin with since it could very well easily be that kyber crystals react to your force abilities to change the saber color, but then normies wouldn't be able to use it
As much as I love Tartokovsky's Grevious, I don't exactly hate Lucas' version. After all, having one of the villains be more behind the scenes rather than all of them being out in the front attacking is a nice change of pace, writing-wise.
Just finished Force Unleashed 2 and holy fuck it feels like a bad tie in game to a movie that never happened. Was it really that rushed? None of it made any sense and it was dog shit to play
There's some manner of "force shield" that force users can't bypass when the opponent is concentrated, unless you're just overwhelmingly powerful. Or when the plot allows it of course. In just about all Star Wars vidya, try to use the force and the enemy just straight up blocks it also. Happens in JKO/A, happens in Jedi FO/Survivor.
TRVKE
It's still my headcanon that the reason Ben turned to the dark side is he found out that Luke is his father.
I want to say some writers tried to imply that Sheev reached out with the Force to snuff her out her as a way of keeping Vader loyal, otherwise "she's just super sad bro guess she's gonna die" from a fairly light bout of Force Choking is ridiculous
force awakens
pretty fun reboot
last jedi
slop with some beautiful scenes
rise of skywalker
a mistake
It's not like the first TFU was particularly great either, though the PS2/Wii version is surprisingly decent if you can get over the fanfic story.
I’ve never understood why the dark side is so much more powerful than the light side to the extent that dipping even a little fully corrupts you. Anakin went from a well respected senior Jedi to a child murdering psychopath in a matter of hours.
he invents staying among the living in force and later teaches force ghosting to yoda and obiwan thoughever
Star Wars kind of defined the space opera though, it looks tropey by comparison since it pretty much made a good deal of the tropes. I think as a setting prequels are what people would call star wars now but there would be no prequel movies without the sequels to provide a foundation
Revenge of the Sith is legitimately a good movie, the best one of all SW films and arguably the peak of all SW media.. So that alone justifies its existence.
Anakin vs Obi-Wan simply feels more emblematic by this point than Darth Vader vs Luke because we got hours of their friendship to make that final duel so painful and epic.
In fact, 3 is so good that you probably don't need to see the previous films, I imagine someone completely new watching it would still enjoy it because it has everything contained on it - a cool action start against the Droid army, a sense of chaos and war in the galaxy, the introduction of this dark lord who gets killed at the start and was obviously under the true villain's control...
Palpatine is fully introduced and developed here with Anakin, we see that he has a relationship with Padme and got her pregnant, it's also painfully obvious that the Jedi are some monk order and his is a forbidden love, you see how he's good friends and a disciple to Obi Wan and they constantly save each other, etc..
It's a masterpiece of a movie to be able to cram all of that in one film
It at least felt like a complete game with a satisfying plot. The sequel was really just The Quest for More Money
but man that shit looks like bad fanfiction
So do the prequels. Imagine telling something in 1990 that Chewbacca had met Yoda and ran around with him on his back, or that C3PO was assembled by Anakin as a child and that Anakin had the deepest Force pussy that ever was -- even deeper than Yoda's! Wow!
It was worth it until tortanic released. I played a lot of swgemu in summer of 2010 and was full of people, like 4k players at the same time in a normal day. It was enough, main server felt alive.
Now luckily has like 200 accounts (like 50 real players) per day.
anakin's drug-fueled cope dream while a medic droid works on him
Ashoka is a victim of her own success. After failing time and again to create likeable characters, Disney and its writers are latching onto fan favorites with a death grip and refuse to let them go, even as it taints said characters. Ashoka should have been killed off a long time ago, probably when she faced Vader in Rebels, would have made the show much less of a waste of time.
You're cherry picking the good aspects of it, unfortunately the rest of it still exists if you actually sit down to rewatch it. It's a horrible film with a few iconic moments. Not a single character feels natural.
I mean, it IS the darkness of the universe. Like a current of water that sweeps you ir you fall on it, it's nearly impossible to just "take a little dip" in it.
But I do get your point, they aren't balanced at all. It's like the Light Side is the standard. You don't become an amazingly good person or enlightened by having The Force...
Yeah let me rephrase my post.
"Light side" doesn't really exist. There's the Force, and you gotta be extremely careful using it, notice that the Jedi aren't "good", their moral code is all about becoming freaking neutral because just deviating a little can have devastating consequences. The Force is some dangerous shit, and if those energies are mishandled even a little with the wrong emotions they pull you into the abyss. That's what it really is, an otherworldly power to be handled with extreme caution, becoming a Light User doesn't exist it's just you being normal and keeping your emotions in check because otherwise you go crazy and destroy.
The time for her to go, aside from the fact that she probably just shouldn't have existed in the first place, was at the end of the clone wars during Order 66 like Lucas wanted.
That's the next best time, though, but Filoni wouldn't know kino if it shat in his ten gallon hat.
Remember when The Last Jedi was coming out and Mark Hamill looked genuinely fucking distraught and depressed in public interviews? I 'member.
yes but have you considered that your point of view is wrong and mine is right?
It just re-released on theaters where I live last week so I did watch it and was impressed.
Truth to be told I also loved Spiderman 3 and Kraven, so I might not be the best judging films. I don't really perceive it if characters are natural or unnatural, I liked them and the story we were being told
RotS is dreck and barely better than AotC.
You're cherry picking the good aspects of it,
So just like the OT?
