Of the Build engine games, I still like Blood the most. Shadow Warrior is a close second, but man sometimes the bullshit with the coolies and fucking bees makes it a little too annoying to play some levels again.

I've never been able to get into Blood as much as I wanted. Aesthetics are 11/10 but the gameplay always feels like I'm playing it wrong. Never got deep into episode 3.

Yeah instead half the enemies behave with enough overlap that you just use the exact same tactics in nearly every single encounter, and to balance out the difficulty so now any projectiles go so fast that intentionally dodging any of them individually is out of the question, so you dodge randomly and it works. That's much better.
