Once Nintendo pulls the plug, no more games come out for a particular platform and online services cease to work after a few years.
This is a laptop with a different shape. There are games that will come out 10 years from now that will still run on this. Games are not designed for the deck. They're designed for PC. if you mean the latest AAA, the Deck is already not capable or suitable for that. It hasn't been in a while. Nobody sane buys it for that.

The only way in which a deck can be obsoleted is if vendors no longer release drivers for it and there's a new GPU requirement (no, not gimmick, requirement) for most games. Service termination affects dead as shit platforms, something that's the polar opposite of Steam, or particular games. Say Valve goes down under. Proton is readily available. There's already a good number of distros suited specifically for handheld PCs like the deck. Mitigations aside, all that's expected with updates is improvements on performance, not the opposite. Games that didn't run before do run nowadays. It goes better, not worse. It's not something where you have to depend on a third party developer to optimize things a little with an update to a specific game they might not do because people are not loud enough about it. it's something where you get a kernel update and oh look, now this is working a little better.
When I got my deck I wasn't able to play Nine Sols without a little stutter. I switched to the preview beta and lo and behold that problem is gone. Updates don't just include security patches or anti-piracy methods. It's not a console that gives two fucks whether you're running pirated software or not in any case.

The pip boy came from the FO4 special edition which obviously didn't release on a system that wasn't out yet. Also the only fallout game on switch is shelter and the only other Bethesda game is skyrim.

What are you talking about, retard? All the drivers used on SD are open source and maintained by community and in case of GPU drivers valve contractors. As for WiFi driver it's not even made by vendor (Realtek) but the random guys in Linux kernel.

Sony fanboys are dead, and Xbox itself is dead. Nintendo fanboys immediately went for the throat when the Deck was announced and people started showed an interest in it and the rest is as you see.

Funny thing is consoles as a whole are dying as zoomers and gen alpha are moving to smartphones and PC. The Switch 2 will be successful, but it's still going to be a big drop from the Switch 1.

That's why they're so hellbent on attacking the Deck, especially with garbage like sales numbers that don't benefit them at all. They feel threatened by it.
