Amnesia: The Bunker is fantastic, but I already played it on Game Pass. Evil West, The Thaumaturge, Star Wars Bounty Hunter, and Eiyuden Chronicle look like they could be good one offs. Absolutely no opinion on the other games.

Evil West was such a disappointing game. I hated the open world dark souls formula. Sometimes things should stay dead. Hell, it didn't need to be open world.

Is Ultros any good? I'm always on the hunt for a good indie metroidvania but I've been burned one too many times.

Rebirth is whatever. Way too much walking around the desert as plot happens. There are a couple parts that make up for it, though.
Bunker is great. The best Amnesia game, and the only one I'd really consider truly scary.

bounty hunter was the first video game I played that wasnt some point and click mr potatohead saves veggie valley game. Was pretty fun if you're a star wars autist.

It's interesting but the color vomit makes the rooms blend together. It's doing a gimmick where killing enemies with good combos gives you better XP items, but those items are also your healing and there's multiple types of XP currency that have to be spent as the pools have a cap. It leads to neat rationing of using an item for healing vs. saving it for after you get a different item for green XP to spend down your blue XP so you're not wasting any. The issue for me is it's doing time loops and you are therefore farming those same enemies over and over as XP isn't persistent. The worst part of any metroidvania is not remembering which room you've already cleared with your current tools, and this asks you that same question over and over. I fell off very quickly as a result.

If you're after indie metroidvanias, I was recently impressed by Zexion. Very similar to classic metroid but less up its own ass than Environment Station Alpha. Blade Chimera was also decent if you're cool with Team Ladybug's flavor. Thread is short but has cool platforming. Biomorph was a neat kirby-ish transformation game.

When even was the last time a Humble Choice (or monthly, whatever) was worth it?

Eiyuden chronicles is good* but that depends on if you can read nip. The english translation is horrible.

March had Pacific Drive and Cavern of Dreams as good games, Tales of kenzera, Gravity Circuit, and Sir Whoopass as okay games, and Wild Hearts as a compelling disaster

Looks like they got a clue and stopped including shitty Origin/GOG/Uplay/whatever other crappy launcher is out there in this bundle. That shit was retarded and why I stopped buying their monthly bundles. Also the fact that they "sell out" of keys all the time now so you don't get what you pay for if you don't immediately redeem all the keys.

amnesia bunker is pretty cool. I'd avoid rebirth unless you're a diehard amnesia fan. If you enjoy bunker definitely get Dark Descent, it regularly goes on sale.

it's a legitimately terrible game, it's like 1/10th as good as any suikoden, it feels completely rushed and almost entirely lacking in content and design
even if the localization was good, which it isn't, the game is just not great
it's a one playthrough and never open it again game
