TLoU2 did just fine. The original has been remastered and rereleased far more often, been on sale more often, etc. It didn't do as well, but it still was a big success. The real issue facing Naughty Dog is the rising cost of game development. The games all cost more, but they're still selling to the same sony install base who like these 3rd person, cinematic, walky-talky simulators. So the game will cost 50-100% more than TLoU2 but sell 90-120% of the copies and then diminishing returns kick in hard.

Marathon is gonna flop out of the gate pretty hard and, in my opinion, has less of a chance than fairgames because Sony spent so much on acquiring bungie that they'll see a massive underperformance and panic.
