I can't take it anymore... The G502 is the best worst gaming mouse ever made.
It fits perfectly in my hand—but every single one ends up double-clicking within a year.
Behold the TOWER OF SHAME—this is how many G502s I’ve gone through in just five years (the white one I got around 4 months ago and the side button is already double clicking).

Is there ANYTHING like the G502 but with better QC?

spray some cleaner in to it

learn to solder and replace the switches

Mine just started after nearly two years of daily usage. It's usually the right click but this time it was the side button. I need to find my old one and merge it with the new one so I can avoid buying a third one

I would rather have a mouse that just werks

I went through four myself, then I got the G502x, and it has different switches now that don't do the double click thing.

Downside is it doesnt have weights anymore and the click feels hollow, but at least i'm not warranting it every 6 months

Mine never double clicks but I had some issues with the scroll wheel (gone now)
I also wish there was an actual competitor to this mouse, you right go basic with 2/3 buttons or go full mmo mouse with 69 buttons. Give me the 2 buttons on the top part of left click and one (maybe two) buttons for my thumb. As far as I know, nobody makes meese like this

Just buy Razer Basilisk V2 or V3, they have optical switches in the LMB and RMB and are immune to double clicking, at least in those buttons. I have 2 V3s, one of them Mouse4 started double clicking so I got another one, that was 2 years ago and it's still going strong, for the most part, other than the fucking melting rubber I wish they'd stop putting on their fucking mice. As for the software, just install it, change your buttons to whatever you want, save it to the onboard memory, and uninstall the software and never think about it again.

The white one I posted in the OP is a G502X.
It started double clicking even faster than the non-X models

seriously. my random logitech mouse starts to double click every 6 months or so. i just spray some electrical cleaner inside and then it's good for another couple months. no idea if that works with every logitech mouse but works with mine

I actually have a Basilisk V3 Pro, and it's close but still not quite there.
I really need those extra buttons next to the left click.
At this point, I feel like a Stockholm syndrome victim… I just can’t quit the G502.

Well damn, I must have good luck then, I've had my black X for over a year now and it's still mint.

what logikek mouse is that up top?

G502 X.

Good luck with your addiction, I've committed to never buying logitrash again, been burned one too many times. Last time I bought one, it shit the bed in less than 2 months. No I will not RMA. I will simply give a different company my business.

I use a g300 because it's symmetrical and sometimes I'll switch to left handed when playing shit like civ 5

Why would you keep buying that dog shit? Are you retarded?

i have some cheapo steelseries mouse that I got for $25 and it's worked for over 5 years
only complaint I have is that it's not weighty enough but I can tolerate it

Instead of physically fixing the issue, I just boot up some script that prevents my mouse from receiving two clicks within a certain timeframe, and then I have another key that acts as my press and hold. I'm tired of buying mice that don't just work.

Because I'm ADDICTED TO SHIT.
I mild autistic and I hate change and I love the way it feels, OK??

how the fuck did you manage to get double clicking with optical switches?

This Logitech deliberately uses switches that don't match the board current, it's planned obsolescence
I've yet to have double click issues with any random Chinese mouse, though the wireless ones have often had their scroll encoders go to shit within months.

My G502 is going on 8 years without double clicking despite daily use. Have I just got incredibly lucky or are the newer ones just not built to last?

Pidge.png - 465x541, 510.16K

I'm addicted to autistic people and I desperately need to marry one. I don't care if you're poor. I just need you to hard buttfuck me.

Spend the money on a Superlight 2 and use the best mouse on the market.

cause most mice either use optical switches and mechanical encoder or vice versa. The only chinese third party wireless mouse I know of that has both is the Paro from Lamzu cause there arent many to begin with. The G502X is technically also optical switches and encoder.

Superlight 2

no
I need exactly 11 mouse buttons for maximum comfiness

file.jpg - 952x1108, 100.71K

My G402 still works fine.
Only scrollwheel mouse 3 button stopped working, i changed it to one of the side buttons though and it's just outright better, when the time comes and i have to buy a new mouse im gonna rebind mouse 3 too, it's just better on the side.

gallery-1.jpg - 1384x1038, 105.21K

Adding to this the ability to unlock the scrollwheel is a mandatory feature for any mouse I buy now.

they have warranty
also you can adjust timing to eliminate dblclicks
mine lasted till it fell apart, wore off 2 sets of legpads

newer ones

Logitrash has been double clicky bullshit for the last 12+ years. You won the lottery. Congratulations.

I think I'm on year 5 with my 502 and no double-clicking.
The rubber sides are eroding away and there's some resistance when scrolling due to cat hair I think but this shit just keeps soldiering on.

I’ve always had good genetics for my fat ass , but it wasn’t until this past year that I turned gay. It’s smooth, pale, and the hole’s a soft pink — hard to resist, unless you’re one of those trashfags into sweaty, dirty dark holes.

well post it then.

Good to know when I do replace it I guess. M3 is starting to go so it'll probably be soonish.

502 was my first Logitech mouse and I got it 3 years ago. No issues at all unlike with Corsair where I usually had to do 2 RMAs per mouse.

I've had a G403 for like 5 years now. Only the scrolling wheel is ass, everything else is still perfect. Longest time I ever had the same mouse for.

Bonus points for looking like a normal mouse if you turn off the LEDs instead of having the xXx_1337_g4m3r_xXx cancer aesthetic like the G502.

I used to use a g502 but ever since I used the superlight I havent wanted a different mouse

check out the swiftpoint creator, it's the closest thing to a G502X replacement I've seen, it's expensive though because it has even more buttons and sensors

Are those mice designed for graphic design/3d modelling any good or are they just a meme like vidya mice?

Question.jpg - 680x631, 48.5K

The mouse wheel click on my g102 will randomly stop working for like a week and then go back to normal for a while. I don't want to open it because it ruins the mouse skates.

people like you are why the mouse subscription was almost a thing.

do you use a mouse like this? 99% of gameing mice are designed to be used like this, lightened to the point of needing to be full of holes and sacrificing buttons, all the same tiny size and shape

esports.webm - 720x1280, 1.58M

My g502x is still going well a year into it now.

I'm an old man and having my elbow in the air like that as well as having the monitor practically touching my nose seems awful

oh, so you don't play esports fps games like everyone else, the one video game genre, no gameing mouse for you

console: one controller last several years. (I still have my original PS3 controller from back in the day)

pc faggots: one mouse each year

PC faggots are scammed in every aspect

15938491431.jpg - 705x676, 349.1K

I'm an old man and I remember when I was able to game like that
getting old sucks but it still beats the alternative

PS4 controller build quality is dogshit, I went through four of them with only occasional use.

console: one controller last several years

Bullshit.
Joystick drift always happens to gamepads that lack hall effect sticks.

Reject buttontism, embrace dirt-cheap wired 2-button+wheel mice that last for years.

Retard

Is there ANYTHING like the G502 but with better QC?

Modern manufacturing is quite literally "how to get away with negative QC and sell your ewaste for the highest price", so my guess would be that you're out of luck pal.
