I played 1 recently with the foreknowledge that it was apparently the worst of the series.
I thought it was flawed but enjoyable, and went into the second game with high expectations since it's considered a masterpiece.

I hated 2 with every fiber of my being. Almost everything that could have been improved was ignored, and the game just shovels shitty combat sections one after the other. The traversal is as bad as ever, and the puzzles are even more braindead.
The presentation is obviously much better and the story is still alright, but fuck ever playing that game again. Knowing that the third game is basically more of the same but with a crappier plot I just dropped the series.

Anybody who voted for Uncharted 2 as game of the year 2009 should have their ability to express opinions on videogames removed in perpetuity.

I actually don't remember much about Uncharted 4, except that there were a few options in combat from 3 that they outright removed for seemingly no reason, which annoyed me when I first played it.

2 really popularized the third person shooter type of game with big set pieces, I think it has aged pretty badly. But so has 1.

4 was easily the worst one of the main series

First one is rough around the edges but it is to this day a solid experience, good balance between exploration and combat sections

second one was the peak of the series, great casual mp modes and great story and set pieces

third one tried to improve on the combat and the online but I feel they went a little too far, still a pretty good game with a shitty story and conclusion

golden abyss (vita) was also pretty alright, felt like going to to the tone of the second game, the story is surprisingly decent and also had a great balance of combat and exploration

4 game comes along and now there's virtually no combat, you have this somewhat open areas that only take away from the main game and only leads to tidy bits of dialogue. The is so little combat most of the game is just characters talking and few ones that exist are very short. There's a single good combat section in the entire game and it is near the end.

The mp is pretty good and fun (they did too much p2w stuff though). 4 has the best gameplay but otherwise sucks ass. Cuckman took it away from Amy, rewrote it and tried to turn it into TLoU which just does not work for UC. The pacing is just atrocious. It's so fucking boring. Barely anything happens for like 80% of the game and just as it starts to get going it's over. I didn't understand this at all either, I actually considered picking up the Steam collection one time because I remembered liking the games, only to realize that it was just 4 and the spin off I never played that got ported instead of the whole series for some reason. I totally would have bought it if it was 1-4 + the spin-off.

I don't generally like cutscene heavy games and I wasn't even a big fan of The Last of Us. I went into Uncharted 4 with very low expectations and only bothered because I got it for free because I have a soft spot for globe-trekking adventure stories.
It was really good, what can I say.

I'm glad it was my first Uncharted game. After I went through and played through the series, and they aren't bad, but that special UC4 vibe just isn't there. UC4 feels like Indiana Jones as a Michael Mann movie, whereas the other Uncharteds are just Indiana Jones.

Great game. Proves that AAA can have soul and everything doesn't have to be open-world. Favorite moment will probably car chase. ND won't reach this again.

Didn't play this game at launch but I got the PS4 bundle for Christmas that year. I didnt play it until I got the trilogy though which they conveniently already remastered beforehand. Thought 4 was good when I finally did play it

Out of all 6, this one holds up the worst. It really is a game you play once. The first time around you are invested enough to not care how slow it is, if you've played the others before. But on repeated playthroughs the first few hours and that retarded middle flashback section kill any momentum and hype the game has. We didn't need a Sam flashback level. We didn't need a scuba level. We didn't need a prison flashback level. All of that could've been summarized in a 3 minute cutscene when we meet Sam. Even the auction levels suck because it's 90% walking and talking. They went all in on the retarded platforming that nobody even liked from the previous games. The story is twice as long, but doesn't need to be. The story is also pointless and is convoluted drama for the sake of having drama. All marketing for years pointed towards someone's death (likely Nathan's), and then the game has the audacity to blue ball us three times in the final level with Sam and Nathan's death. Feminist shit was inserted because my cuckman. The 'open' car level was stupid and doesn't hold up. The grappling hook is a completely retarded addition that adds nothing of value. Despite the combat areas being more open, they're all incredibly linear experiences. Hur dur you can start by killing this guy instead of that guy. Sully is based as usual, but absent for a good chunk of the game, not as much as U2, but still. Sam is not a suitable replacement for either Sully or Elena, but Troy Baker sucked Neil's dick and got the job. The Alcazar plot being le lie was beyond retarded. And the excuse was "I didn't bother to look it up oops lol." Don't get me wrong, if you like the other games, you'll probably think this is a masterpiece of gaming when the credits role. But if you think about it for longer than a day and attempt to replay it, all of its problems become very obvious. Also the boat level. What the fuck were they thinking.
