They really need a stacked first year of releases. Mario Kart and Donkey Kong with upgraded Switch 1 games isn't enough. Another Zelda musou and some lackluster tech demo quality games aren't sufficient.

It depends. The core Nintendo audience is ultra casual and will probably buy anything Nintendo shits out. But there is also a not insignificant amount of people who won’t bother if there are hardly any physical games (as opposed to the cartridge just containing keys to download the games.) So it probably depends on how many true physical games there will be and how many will just be keys.
I doubt it. They plan to outsell the wiiU in 10 months, and with the current preorder craze it seems like a no brainer.
Only massive issues with Mario Kart could put them in trouble, and I'm talking broken online or game breaking bugs, but that's nintendo and I'm pretty sure this has been in debug phase for several years now

You are completely forgetting the fact that during the Wii U era, Nintendo had the 3DS to fall back on with a different catalogue of games and now all the people who made games on the 3DS make games on the Switch and Switch 2. Pokemon games are system sellers. Mario games are system sellers. Zelda games are system sellers. All of these are going to be on the Switch 2. It's not going to flop no matter how hard you try and convince yourselves.

Its a safe upgrade with very safe marketing. It wont flop and will be successful. How successful it will be will depend on their output since everyone buys a Nintendo console for exclusives.
