The Free Time segments and battles don't mingle well with the VN structure at all. Kodaka should've either gone with a simple VN format or gone full SRPG.

The whole route is unsatisfying. It FEELS like something is going to happen but it doesn't. Eva doesn't show up or have any interactions, Sirei is being interrogated but none of his secrets are revealed, the baby doesn't interact with anyone, Tsubasa stabbing Takumi and nobody calling her out on being insane doesn't make any sense.

And then there proceeds to be no romantic scenes in the successful SF route. Only one I’ve done so far is getting the 17 out and the only kinda cute moments are Takumi teasing about the date and the end carrying her. Really? We see her kiss him at the end of slasher and they both remember that but we don’t get any follow up or romantic anything going on? She also really bothered me with being so bitchy. It seems like when things are good/going according to plan she’s mean and she’s only nice when she thinks they’re screwed. Too much tsun barely any dere

yeah, Goodbye Eito lets you play as Eito. Nozomi is the only one that has her own choice, though. Elsewhere she has her own POV endings in 2nd Scenario and Rebellion, which is pretty rare for the non-Takumi cast

There's no true ending and there's multiple good endings to the game. the main path just gives you most of the answers to the overarching mystery.

It's the ending that gets a special credit sequence and has "The end" on it, but I find it to be a pretty unsatisfying conclusion for the cast despite the answers it gives. I feel like that is intended because Kodaka wants people to go back and explore other routes and endings to find their own preferred ending.

The Uchikoshi elements of the plot are basically self-contained to four routes (SF, Mystery, Slasher, and Calamity). They're sort of hinted at in Retsnom, but otherwise Uchikoshi's basically doing his own thing in the corner that isn't connected to what's going on in the other routes.

It feels like a "rocks fall, everyone dies" moment. It's not particularly well-written or built up to go right into blowing up humanity and then having the cast all get killed. Takumi especially didn't have any business dying after getting such a big buff and Eito got away with stabbing Shion on his own in the first route.

Anyway now that I've done this route, can anyone explain the very end to the first route? Right after Takumi time travels, Takemaru tries to call him and tell him something's wrong on the satellite and then it sounds like he gets attacked. What was up with that? Explained in another route? Or am I dumb?

they were all lost and had nothing to live for from day 70. there was no happy ending for them. but they got to sacrifice themselves to save the futuran remnants and prevent pointless bloodshed. them dying is lame but you can always go for the reset ending instead

It comes down to your choice about whether to prioritize your own lives and ignore the Futurans' deaths, or to put your lives on the line to try and prevent their deaths. You (and the whole team, admittedly kind of half-heartedly) choose to risk your lives to save them. That resolve gets cashed in.
You're not wrong, it's definitely a "rocks fall everyone dies" ending, but I think it works because everyone chooses to fight together as friends. In the game though, your team has made it through a impossible odds for like fifty days straight with no losses. Maybe Vehxness and the old man boss should have killed a couple them.

Just finished the SF route and holy fuck it was such a letdown. Seriously I'm so fucking pissed at how badly it was written. They dropped the ball hard with this one.
For the TRUE route, nothing significant really happened. It was mostly just Takumi and Hiruko doing completely meaningless shit.
So many mysteries were just left abandoned and I felt like they really mismanaged handling the parallel timelines. And all the drama was so forced, especially towards the end.
I honestly expected much more from it after having to go through all that effort to unlock it. All the parallel shit affecting other timelines was sidelined with a shrug and the final day was the absolute worst with the foced drama.
Dunno I'm just so fucking pissed after all of that. I thought it would have resolved everything or thrown some sort of a twist to turn the whole game upside down, but instead it was just Hiruko being a retard and them running around different timelines.

I made the mistake of misunderstanding someone talking about this and thought it was more of an srpg, so I bought it.
The combat is mostly bloat and has no real effect on the story. Even bosses are a real joke if you just stack hemoanima boosts on takumi . It's a shame because it has the groundwork for something neat but most of it isn't needed nor are most characters. Strangely, I still enjoyed it, especially in the first half before you get insanely powerful.

If he rewinds the moment someone died, he might be technically dipping out of that timeline entirely and abandoning everyone. Oh don't worry about that I'm well aware, as a matter of fact this is one of my biggest issues with the framing of the story where the narrative starts putting attention to it and she goes 'woe is me i'm a terrible person' with Takumi simping over it but the narrative of the route barely puts as much attention on the Kako-G thing which is infinitely more fucking evil and avoidable, it wasn't for an emotional end as some character flaw thing, it's literally just because she was a lazy bitch and it's played off.

Comedy has it's issues but he is just one of three writers in that route and that route isn't bad if you take it as a breather route and it isn't your very first route. To me the difference between the two is Kodaka writes stories that are about characters and relationships and emotions, and Uchikoshi writes stories that exist to be puzzles and convey crazy plot twists

Kodaka gets a bad rap because Danganronpa wasn’t really sequel-ready, so it ended up having an awkward setting after the first game. That’s hard to avoid when part of the twist is just how absurd and unbelievable the outside world has become, and that it was all done by a crazy gyaru with no deeper motivation. But his scenarios for this and Rain Code show that he can make a tighter setting like the first Danganronpa. There’s a good reason he wanted to scrap Danganronpa. Even if the games never got awful, the lore was just getting stupid as he added more to it because of how inherently chaotic the world is due to DR1. I have a theory that the fake twist of V3 was probably his legitimate best idea for a third game in the same universe until it got expanded into the meta narrative it became.
