I've been playing JRPGs longer than most of you fucks have been alive. Chrono Trigger deserves the number 1 spot. You just weren't there.
The amount of new games on the list is very suspect, mostly because they're very friendly to normies. Yakuza Infinite Wealth is fine considering most of the fans are Zero fags.
There are also tell signs that they just added games randomly to note a series. Trails in the Sky what? First Chapter, Second Chapter? The whole thing? It's difficult to judge games like that without scoring the whole series. If I were the judge just one Trails game alone on quality, it would be Cold Steel 3.
Trash like Xenoblade 3, Ni No Kuni, and Octopath Traveler are entries from IGNers who never played a JRPG. I know Xenoblade 2 is controversial but no one prefers Xenoblade 3 to Xenoblade 1, or even X.

Played 7,8,9,10,12,13,14,15,16, tactics, and dirge of cerberus. Out of all of them I would say the worst ones are 13,8, and 15 which 13 being the worst. I couldn’t even force myself to care about the story or characters a few hours in, I just hated the level scaling of 8, and 15 story was fucking horrible if you played it day one like me and only reason I beat it was because some of the characters were likeable even with the major plot holes

CT is definitely better than FF6 but still overrated. The ATB system pauses during animations and so many attacks in CT have long animations which makes the combat insanely slow for no reason. The best SNES RPG is Lufia 2, and it's not even close.
