Machines don't actually do a whole lot for the process beyond heat sterilizing. If you can't just rinse it off (and even then, rinse it off pretty easily) then letting the dishwasher do it is just not gonna happen. I get more use out of it by letting it boil out specific messes like burnt or cheese sauce-laden pots for easy cleaning than I do it actually cleaning anything for me. It's also messy as hell to clean up after and prone to building up lime scale, rot and general filth.

Rest at home. Operators for example typically work 12 hour shifts, so they'll work 36 hours one week (3 days on, 4 off) and then 48 the next week (4 days on, 3 off). During turnarounds or someone being sick/out they can pick up OT shifts and make time and a half or even double depending on the conditions. You can make 150k easy with a 2 year operations degree. Turnarounds are usually the biggest grind, maintenance guys sometimes will work 13 days on/1 off until the turnaround is complete, but they make a stupid amount of money during that time.

I basically move furniture and vacuum the floors at an old folks home. It's easy work but the pay isn't great and there is no room for growth. I'm probably going to be stuck there for the rest of my life and I'll never be able to afford a home or anything good for myself.
