yeah ive noticed that a decent amount of people on here do just use video games as an excuse to be massive chuds. its annoying, and normally i can ignore people like that. but on here it feels like every other post is "this game bad cause women and blacks". i dont know when this shift happened on Anon Babble, but its getting annoying.

To answer your question, yes I still love video games and I play them for a significant amount of my day, every day.
That doesn't change the simple fact that politics and external factors have infiltrated the hobby that I love, meaning many conversations about games will potentially have a political edge. The only solution to this situation is bloody warfar, but speaking of such things counts as fedposting and gets people in trouble, so we can only have the safe and permitted complaint conversations when such matters come up.

I've been playing Hundred Line for several weeks trying to 100% it. Due to it being so new and fresh it's hard to discuss without spoilers so I've mostly focused on the game. Anon Babble in general

I do. I think a lot of people do. It's just that a lot of modern day games waste time and over-monetize their systems to where it impacts actual mechanics. There's also far less emphasis on interesting gameplay versus visual fidelity. I think a lot of people express their frustrations at this point on Anon Babble because there's so few outlets that will listen that won't immediately yell "-ist" or "-phobe" regarding criticisms. I'd also argue that writing for games has become a LOT worse, even with the most well-regarded games of late.

I breezed through the regular part although some boss fights will make it evident that holding onto your cards won't guarantee a win. Currently on new game+ now. I think the gameplay is fun but I dislike the backtracking of it mostly.

while i do agree that the AAA space is mostly dogshit nowadays, with greedy monetizxation, shitty writing, etc, i'd say that the indie and AA spaces are consistently giving us some good shit. Cruelty Squad, Xenotilt, Spongebob Squarepants: The Cosmic Shake, etc. we got some good games coming out, theyre just not being done by the likes of blizzard or ubisoft anymore.

Yeah, but the games I like get shit on or are simply not talked about much. Plus I'm not invested in the upcoming gen anyway since none of the consoles are interesting enough for me to think about buying (PS6 is going to be the PS5 again but stronger). That said I've got a good enough PC to run modern games anyway, so it's no real loss. I'll be looking at Xbox Showcases, State of Plays, Nintendo Directs, Summer Games Fests, checking out Steam Sales and GOG Sales and all that while using Anon Babble as, essentially, a news aggregator that I sometimes comment in.

I spend half my day thinking about video games. I think I hit a point where I look at new video games and just see them as failed attempts to reach my ideal games, which might be a sign that I should just make my own games instead, but I'm not going to do that because it's a massive investment and I wouldn't let anyone else play them anyway, so it's better for them to just exist in my head.

I also expect more from gamers than to march mindlessly into the current industry which is a ponzi scheme of scamming people into becoming advertisers to attract new advertisers and hopefully nobody notices too quick and has the resources to tell people that the game isn't even worth playing despite the publisher promising pay.

Of course I love them, I come here for the few genuine discussion threads here. Shame how the rot eventually seeps into those as well. I'll keep positive though cause there's really no where else to go. There are some good guys here who want to discuss vidya here too, just have to catch em at the right time. Lately I've been playing The Division 2, caught up on Limbus Company, playing CotW and debating on whether or not I want to pick up V Rising. There's so much out there and I honestly can't understand why people here are so angry. You'd have to try not to find anything to enjoy these days. There is something for everyone, every little niche you can think of and if not, someone is trying their hardest to make it happen.

I love that game. Never could perfect the punch out fight with the rat but did everything else.

replies like this are what i come to Anon Babble for, as rare as they are. gaming has expanded to such a degree that you can find anything that fits your niche. and even find stuff that fits niches youd never dream of existing. one game i really enjoy is World of Horror, which is a rogue lite turn based RPG survival horror graphic adventure game. and it somehow blends all these genres seamlessly.

I use other Anon Babbles for actual discussion since they're all of significantly higher quality.
