I recently finished FF 7 og and it wasn't even that good. Don't get me wrong it's not bad but it's just an ok rpg, shows you how important it is to be at the right place and at the right time. Other RPGs from the same time and even later in the FF series are better, on the snes Chrono trigger, earthbound and ff6 are better, later FF games are better too, ff9 is better in every single way, arguably even FF10 and 12 are more enjoyable.

I wouldn't be surprised if they changed it around entirely, like how the CPR scene is no longer with Priscilla but with Yuffie instead, and the CPR never actually happens. A scene like "sexy slapfight on a big gun" sounds way too raunchy for modern Squeenix's Ethics Dept.

I was there when FF7 released and it was meh. Coming off the peak pixel art games it looked downright ugly and the mechanics were simple even for a FF game. The story was okay but it's at best the 3rd best story in the FF series and nowhere in the top 10 for jRPGs as a genre. I'm glad people like it but the amount of glaze it gets kills me.

If i was in charge of the slap thing, i would have them fight first, with scarlet using a robot suit (a smaller one) as the boss fight of the chapter. Then, the suit is destroyed, both scarlet and tifa are someway damaged in the process leaving them tired but not done, and the slapping sequence starts after, like a last effort to win and humilliate the other.
