I don't think a sequel or remake would be good. It's such a comfy 90's game like the wheel of time books. Adding 2020 zietgeist to it would be like race mixing someone from Iceland.

It's cringe, but that final dungeon gave me the same high as beating a tough souls boss.

BoF2 is one of the best jrpgs of all time. The town building aspect was one of the coolest features and it even had a solid fishing minigame.
I see nothing wrong, this stuff existing is only ever a problem when it comes from the east. If it's a western rpg with the same elements it gets a pass no problem. I wonder why that is?

HD-2D remakes of the BoF games would be fucking pointless. Having better QoL in exchange for the game looking significantly worse isn't worth it.

I'd buy Breath of Fire IV and play that, if it ever makes its way onto Steam, that is.

bof2 has the best designs but as a game it's kinda bad. A remake could actually fix a lot of its problems.

2 would bump up an entire point if its repel spray item actually did anything (the one in 1 works almost perfectly). Add another point if they got someone to redo the disappointing clown fart soundtrack

I figure small mods to Dragon Quarter would infinitely change the game.
It really had potential and aimed high, it just missed.
As long as it was all Easterners id be OK with this.

Making the township plotline bigger so you can recruit more of the townspeople, quick fusion swapping, making the sister plotline mean something would be good enough for me.

The one I'm fascinated with is fromsoft. Amazing everything, but music. Each game has one good hit but the other 30 tracks are meh.
I always figured it was a bad hire but they change up the composer every game. I'd love to know why such perfectionists are do lax in that one area.

Whole last section of the game feels kinda just boom and done. Defintiiely could have benefitted with a few sidequests once mommy is gone.

Street Fighter V gave one of the characters a Katt cosplay outfit that didn't give it pants, for what it's worth.

As I recall, the arse was disappointingly mono cheeked, but the fact Katt got any rep at all was still pretty cool. Now put her in Marvel Vs. Capcom, bare-ass and dual cheeka, cowards.

It's one of my favorite jrpgs, Ryu wasn't a massive pussy, characters had personality and great design, there were some heavy themes too. I don't think there are any other character designs that beat 2 and the fusion system was so good.
