It’s not an automatic thing, it’s a setting you turn on. It’s suppose to help preserve battery life, a lot of newer phones have it as a feature as well

Stop charging to 100% to not lose the capacity over years from 100% to 90%. If you never use the device at a 100% capacity, it's essentially the same.

There may be some periods where you need to use the full charge, like if you're on a trip and can't get to an outlet. In that scenario the 80% charge would've extended the life of the device and give you that boost you need.

But yes if you NEVER go to 0% then it won't matter.

when you charge a battery it's a load that you're putting current through. the current decreases as you charge it. guess why.

Just replace the battery in like 7 years when it deteriorates
