Are we getting dlc? and if so then what kind of dlc?

Are we getting dlc? and if so then what kind of dlc?

Probably yeah. I'm hoping for some optional super-ultra bosses.

Already confirmed.

Considering the quality of the game the DLC will likely be Witcher 3 or Elden Ring level if they're not stupid and want to keep the momentum.

More super-ultra bosses won't matter if they don't continue to adjust the shitty balance of this game, and they know that.
Wanting to chase that Disgaea-high post Act 2 is one of the reasons the game falls off.

totally game sold well

I've been thoroughly convinced by this game that a 30-40 hour RPGs with 10 additional hours of side content is the ideal RPG length.

I'd like that.

i hope we can get a what-if scenario for gustave

Expedition 0
Expedition 60
Sexpedition 69

Those are my DLC ideas

Expedition 60

Pitch me an Expedition 60 game.

Level 0, 99 str, 99 agi half naked parry gods killing any nevron they see

file.png - 640x798, 202.08K

a prequel DLC in expedition 0 or something that happens after in the war between the painters vs the writers
is 60 the brute force crew or was the expeiditon 70?

chances are good

already confirmed

Expedition Zero is definitely my guess.

Expedition 0 where you play as Simon would be kino. Final boss being the Axon he killed, before he goes mad.

The Body Builder crew. How the fuck could they figure out the truth about the Paintress without the cheat code known as Verso or Maelle, I'll never know.

Anons are illiterate, please understand

Instead of a turn-based RPG it's a straight-up brawler.

Final boss being the Axon he killed, before he goes mad.

Nah, that shit would be mid-game. That's before he meets Aline, and then descends into Renoir's Drafts.

i wouldn't trust journalists who can't even use the appropriate "FRPG" acronym

I have a feeling the devs are scratching their heads thinking how to continue this story, because it feels as if it was supposed to be one-and-done.
And I for one really doesn't want Joker 2 situation, where you make a sequel for a game that doesn't need a sequel just because the previous game sold.

Coop beat em up with hundreds of moves. You can dismember Nevrons to hurt others with their legs.

God Hand but you play as 60 year old naked roided geezers

The Expedition with the girl Verso fell in love with, Julie.

They'll probably just bend the knee and add some retarded mechanic that prevents you from one shotting them because of autists

Personally I would love to either see a completely different canvas (although I don't know how the gang would be able to travel between canvases) or a scenario where Clea enters a canvas to solve the family drama herself and turns it into a total hellscape

Expedition 69

Inspired by Death Stranding

Even more platforming sections

I would play that, but I would be cautious

How the fuck could they figure out the truth about the Paintress without the cheat code known as Verso or Maelle, I'll never know.

Just PUNCH the Demiurge to DEATH

They actually bothered lifting and pushing the human limit to the max, unlike dyels such as Gustave & Verso and soft women like the entire cast
Verso LITERALLY had 90+ years to get jacked and yet...

I for one would like to see a DLC that unlocks a new, third ending, that then leads directly to a sequel.
That would solve many problems the devs currently have.

But the sea

CROSS IT

But the coral

BREAK IT

But the Chroma barrier

PUNCH IT

But Giantess

KICK IT

But the canvas

RIP AND TEAR

Literally all they need to do is make a boss immune or at least severely resistant to void damage and that cockblocks Stendahl and Gommage, and that's just one example.

This seems like the most obvious direction from a feel good standpoint. But I feel like it'd also damage the endings provided at the same time.
A DLC where you play as Painted Verso in an alternative route through the first act of the game, and then you can choose to save Gustave or not would be kino.

At the same time it'd be cool to have some additional explanation or continuation from the real world.

Prostitution DLC.

DLC revives Gustave in act 3

Gustave can enter the room between painting an reality thanks to Maelle's blessing

Third option in the final fight ''Fight as Gustave''

Gustave kills and stops Verso from destroying the painting

After Maelle repaints everyone in the painting Gustave kills her to force her out of painting

Personally I'd like more info about the outside world, maybe have the writers enter the canvas or some shit.
also more info on how the fuck that expedition that just went around placing all the climbing shit got inside the fucking monolith. literally HOW?
Clea's already at the tower, shes the one painting the challenges isn't she? or is that another splinter like the one at the flying manor

I mean, the solution is very easy. Just cap the Painted Power picto. Instead of dealing unlimited damage, cap it to maybe 40k or something.
And after you kill the final boss, reward a player with uncapping the cap, so they can go to town.

he is my favorite character in this game and i am still not over it

After Maelle repaints everyone in the painting Gustave kills her to force her out of painting

I'm surprised this wasn't an option, just team up to kick her out without destroying the canvas

That doesnt change shit.
Every single character in the game is capable of one shotting Simon 2nd Phase on Expert since at that point you have access to all the in game resources
Even if they add a 100m+ HP boss, it doesn't matter because once again, at that point you have characters acting twice even before Simon, which becomes 4x with Cheater, or 6-8x with Sciel for one character of choice.
And what's the problem with that? Let the autismos who want their perfect parry runs suffer, let people that want to break the game have fun as well
Simon reducing your HP to 1 is already shit ass design since it doesn't let your characters tank him thus removing a whole playstyle based on all the % damage reductions and high HP/Defense etc.

I even found an even bittersweet ending to this option too:

Maelle is forced out of the painting, she listens to her dad and recovers from prolonged time in the painting

Once she goes back to the painting she finds out old man Gustave in his deathbed with his children and grandchildren with Sophie

You know, having a DLC that adds a lengthy and dramatic quest to revive Gustave that unlocks in Act 3, does sound like a fun idea. And after that you are awarded with a new ending, WHERE GUSTAVE ACTUALLY EMPATHIZES WITH MAELLE'S CASE AND CONVINCES HER TO LIVE HER LIFE OUTSIDE OF THE PAINTING, BECAUSE NOBODY IN THAT FUCKING GAME EVER BOTHERED TO GIVE ANY GENUINE ARGUMENTS AS TO WHY SHOULD SHE LEAVE THE FUCKING CANVAS.

DLC that fixes the shit endings

Aline and Maelle both turning into unhinged schizos the longer they were in the canvas is enough of an argument by itself.

Maelle would literally kys after that
She obviously spends the whole game wanting the dead Big Gustave Dick
Actually, she's probably just repaint Gustave into a big dicked himbo like Simon, clone him for a prime Gustave harem, and then Gommage his family out of existence

boooooorrrrrrinnnnnnngg. keep your golden endings to Fire Emblem

Clea dating sim. We're getting it. I will marry by beloved Clea.

They engaged in dialogue with her before attacking because they built not only their bodies but their minds.

Expedition 0 should be it's own game

Clea going in a hunt against the writers in the real world. Depending on the ending you choose, she will defeat Alicia in the painting

Literally nobody gives a shit about the Dessentres plot line. And literally everyone was hyped over the expedition plotline.

The expedition plot is just so you have an excuse to beat monsters, it doesn’t matter in the slightest what you do there because you still end up with ”lul I erase you :-)” in the end anyway.

IMG_7205.gif - 546x640, 153.98K

I don't think Alicia cares if she dies in real life or not, so that's not much of an argument. I guess the only one that would weep for her would be her father, but only because her death unconvenienced him or something.

NG+

Gustave doesn't unlock his skills

Gustave can't remain a party remember after Act 1 even if just for mechanics/not story chances

Absolutely soulless and point number 1 ruins the game retroactively

sex with maelle dlc

Literally nobody gives a shit about the Dessentres plot line.

I care about Clea. If the DLC doesn't let me Cleamaxx like Simon then I won't be playing it.

I can fix her.

hq720.jpg - 686x386, 26.26K

I care. Specifially, I care about Alicia. The rest of the family can fuck off, though.

I haven't bothered with NG+ yet, what rolls over?

Aline would have done literally nothing outside of sitting in place playing house if Renoir didn't do the Verso autistic screeching of walking in and imemdiately shitting axons all over the place.
As we know this, and Maelle knows this, and even when her mom was at the peak of her unhingedness she still kept her creations safe, there is simply no reason why Maelle would not want that. Nobody actually has a discussion with her, (even when she literally tells Verso they should sit and talk), so here we are.

You care more about the people of Lumiere and expedition members who you spent 50 hours with, no?

If they make a sequel which ending should they make canon?

but only because her death unconvenienced him or something

Based retard who misreads even Renoir.

Nobody actually has a discussion with her, (even when she literally tells Verso they should sit and talk),

You don't argue with junkies who want to kill themselves because they'll never agree.
You force their hand until they stop acting like retards.

Ah yes, the number 1 advice to people with addictions.
"Force the matter, it's YOU who needs to want them to get better. Making them understand? That solves nothing, just keep screaming, that'll solve it."
Truly an addiction 101 quote.

No, you send them to rehab, especially thx suicidal ones who refuse to listen to you.

The Body Builder crew

How did they fail though? I'm genuinely wondering since they brought down the barrier by just fucking flexing.

>if Renoir didn't do the Verso autistic screeching of walking in and imemdiately shitting axons all over the place

Aline, please put the crackpipe down, you are killing yourself, your daughters need you in the real world

YOU WILL NOT TAKE THIS CANVAS FROM ME!!!! I WILL GRIEVE IN MY OWN WAY

All I’m reading here is that the only person that could convince Maelle to leave the Canvas is Gustave.

I don't care about NPCs no

Do you think rehab is some form of containment zone where people are forced to detox or something? Are you retarded or do you simply not have any world knowledge whatsoever?

Renoir slaughtered them when they went down to fight him and the last one gommaged on his swim back to Lumiere trying to warn everyone that the Paintress wasn't the enemy.

Yes, and i'm %100 sure Verso is regretful as fuck for letting him die like that.

Get back to sucking Renoir's cock, Verso. You are typing schizo posts again.

How did they fail though?

They didn't, they reached the Paintress, they found out the truth and swam all the way back to Lumiere without a boat.
Except Renoir gommaged the guy who reached the port before he could give that info.

From my understanding Renoir killed them when they uncovered the truth, as he has admin power he simply erased them or something like that

gommaged on his swim back to Lumiere trying to warn everyone

What an absolute chad

What really pisses me of is that Maelle flat out asks both Renoir and Verso why should she go back to real life and live as a fucking cripple at the age of 16 and neither of them have any argument. Renoir just dismisses it with generic "it'll be fine" and when she tells him that she lost so much, he just goes "well, I lost a lot too". Good job making this shit about yourself. And Verso just says it's not the right to do. When Alicia asks for alternative, he drops the issue and starts fighting her.
That's just bad parenting.

I'd rather it be some unique super dungeon with its own story and not something that redoes the story.

And that's why he gets sent to the piano mines.

Every character is not real

Is that why the killed him off? It just seems rather off that she didn’t revive him at the start of act 3

Except Alice/Maele yes

is some form of containment zone where people are forced to detox or something?

The good ones are.
Detox+tons of therapy

A dlc about what? Literal NPCs in Lumiere?
meh

No he isn't.

I spend 50 hours with Alicia as well, so your question is stupid.

They said "No". And that's a good thing.

He killed him in order to slip himself inside the party and get closer to Maele. He is an established liar.

Aline DLC where you get to the prime early 20's version of her

No he's not, he's an inveterate liar and a goals-focused Machiavellian. Gustave was a potential obstacle, the only member of the party smart enough to notice inconsistencies and not be distracted by deflections like Lune so he made sure Gustave would be eliminated.

He let Renoir kill Gustave because he knew it would make Maelle easier to manipulate, unironically

So what will the sequel gonna be about? Big sister fucking some writer shit up?

retarded 16 year old asks a retarded question because she lacks life experience

is dismissed

Agreeing with Alicia there means you never outgrew your teenage years.
Alicia would rather wallow in self pity than actually do something with her life. Even glher ending is just that since she's torturing her brother in some insane cope.

It will be about my self-insert Simon falling in love with Clea

I understand "real" Renoir is trapped under the Monolith we don't meet him until Act 3 and that the one who tries to stop E33 was painted by Aline, but I don't understand who painted the Curator. Since he helped break the chroma barrier, I assume it was real Renoir but why would he paint a copy of himself while in the canvas?

In the end anon, in the end. Everything you just said is about his motivation through out the game. We are talking about the last 5 minutes where he had to fight Maele.

*rail

sequel

if they are having a little sense there wont be one

Ideally no sequel but if we had to have one, Typing of the Clair Obscur: Total Painter Death.

Bunch of people involved will kill themselves and no sequel will ever come out

69 were the climbers and they died a bit before the monolith
60 went in with protein shakes, looted their stuff and planted more climbing holds "for those who come after"

They hint a lot at the bigger plot outside the canvas though. Like how Alice fell for their trap and caused Verso's death etc.

Isn't the curator just the real Renoir?

If they link to E33's story directly it'll be in DLC.
A sequel game I think will use the Clair Obscur name and be set in the same "Painters/Writers" reality but not be directly linked to the Dessendres, or at least not Verso's Canvas.

Just beat it (verso ending) last night. That final wave with Gustave at the memorial

Alicia would rather wallow in self pity than actually do something with her life

But she won't get there without support. And the only people who support her are the painted people. Her sister is a cunt that thinks she's a waste of space, her mother subconsciously hates her and her father keeps making it about himself.

It is yes. I always thought of him as a projection Renoir used from his sealed place inside the monolith

It's almost always the same bullshit obviously forced reason to have people return to the real world in these type of magical world stories

oh um actually... your true body is slowly dying while you're here!!!

i-it's not real!! Despite the fact it feels 1000% real, now just go back to the real world and face the true challenges of living, there's strength in that!!!!

And of course that's always introduced 5m before the ending

Her sister is a cunt that thinks she's a waste of space

If you'd paid attention to Clea content in Act 3, you'd know she cares. It's just tough love.

Almost like... she could come back into the painting again easily... wow...

70 Were the better climbers, their note is right before the 2nd Renoir fight INSIDE the monolith. Absolute gods setting up all those grapples.

isekai.... good.

escapism... good.

Clea cares but he cared about Valso more and he is dead. Just like others, she is coping by going after the writers and wants everyone to get their shit together.

Dealing with grief and and loss was the big theme of the game.
The ending was just the culmination of it all since the cute and nice girl you've been following all along refuses to move on from it.

Yes and they made it that far WITHOUT cheat codes that is Maele and Verso.

Tough love never helps and it's a reason why so many literal boomer dads were absolute shit at parenting
Especially when you're a literally deformed always in physical and mental pain creature like Alicia

You vill play ze piano and you vill enjoy it

maelle.png - 2560x1440, 1022.8K

Alicia was already like that before Verso's death .
It made her personality worse but her relationship with Clea seems to have been always the same.

A man whose steps leave no trace
A man whose voice sound like tears
A man whose memory erase
A man whose time flow off-beats

Did I just miss *where* Alicia hid the canvas? Clea makes a big deal of saying how clever the hiding spot is, but then it was never mentioned again in the main plot. And Aline managed to find it very quickly to come back for the fight against Renoir's Axons.

Story literally spells out that there is an active war going on outside. She needs the family to function as soon as possible. Clea also lost her lover which was a writer. Gustave and her GF was inspired by them.

Don't forget no lumina converter either, so only a few pictos.

Why does Alicia even need cuckverso on the piano anyways
Painted Verso is not the remnants of actual child Verso which is the crumbling child npc
And Painted Verso has no Painter powers unlike you know... Alicia even if she canonically is the weakest of her family at that, but the fucking whole world has been laid out already by Aline, Renoir and shotaVerso

JUST PLAY THE FUCKIN' PIANO, CRYBOY

They never mention it.
But Aline found out in like two real world minutes so Renoir is right in that regard.
Painters can paint in reality so you can't outdo Aline.

Why does Alicia even need cuckverso on the piano anyways

She tells you, screaming at that, that all she wants is Verso and she's just as bad as her ok and using him as a substitute to cope.
And brainwashed him to boot.

The whole hiding spot idea was retarded nonsense you'd expect out of a teen like Alicia and Clea was really dumb to ever go along with it
Where the FUCK would Alicia the deformed social outcast cripple who never leaves her house hide it, the fucking Paris Catacombs lmao?

She’s a video game character

If she had truly brainwashed him he would be playing the piano happily instead of crying like a sad sack

She did her best, okay? Alicia's trying hard despite her mental disabilities and Clea appreciates her for it.

Fuck him, he deserves every second of whatever he gets. There isn't a single moment of the story he isn't actively working to murder and betray those who are risking their lives to help him do it. Irredeemable character imo.

The reason to pick Maelle ending isn't to help Maelle (because it might be worse for her in the long run), it's to punish that fuckboi and prolong his suffering.

Clea

Francios shouldn't you be in your cave?

She wanted to try giving him free will.
Didn't work so brainwashed piano it is, he even looks better after her jumpscare.

Just hide the canvas better Renoir, you fucking hack

Eternal youth

God that pampers you and loves you

But you are based on a dead kid (nevermind that regular people are based on fucking nothing)

Would this scenario mindbreak you into mass-murder + suicide? Retarded nonsense.

Which is retarded since letting Gustave live would have worked in his favor

I don't think a sequel will have anything to do with Dessendre family or Verso's canvas.

There isn't a single moment of the story he isn't actively working to murder and betray those who are risking their lives to help him do it.

Act 3, until Alicia becomes her mom.
He was fully on board with her plan until her final conversation with Renoir.
Everything Verso does, it's always for his family, no matter the cost

Knowing that my mother was killing herself to maintain it probably would, yeah.

Anon, you are obviously retarded so let's leave it at that

It’s probably gonna be like Final Fantasy where is Clair Obscure is a different thing

be aware your whole "life" you are nothing but a fake prop your "mother" is using to cope

Verso is not exactly smart.

We need A Life to Dream ending.

Clea comes into the canvas to take Maelle out

Maelle controls the canvas now so it won't be easy, Clea needs her own party to beat her

she copies Gustave because he created the Lumina Converter

party is Clea, Gustave, and Francois

final battle is Maelle's Gustave vs Clea's Gustave, both shirtless

ending reflects on the nature of life in the canvas, and what it means to be real

Gustave convinces Maelle to leave

because she painted half the canvas, Clea leaves a party of herself to continue painting and puts Verso to rest

she repaints the people and gives them a new beginning

final shot is Painted Verso, Painted Alicia, Monoco, Noco, and Esquie going on a new adventure

It should be a separate story, play as some other painter or even a writer and cross Clea from time to time at most.
We don't need the entire family to do things again

So did Aline already create her fake obscene family in their full grown ass counterparts? Since they already had their memories
Feels like she's the kind of stupid hag that would like having Renoir court her again etc.

He didn't know the lengths Maele would go to sustain her delusions at the time.

Even though your mother will still die and wants to spend her time in this way.

And your sister as well.

I think the implication is that she created Alicia unscarred then shoved her face into a fireplace and forced her to wear the mask after.

No you might be. They make a point of the lumierans being real people with sentience and experiences. Not NPCs like you said

He actually

ran out of time.

HE WAS SIXTY, RIPPED AS FUCK AND SWAM BACK TO LUMIERE JUST TO GET GOMMAGE'D AT THE FINISH LINE
o7

You fell for his bullshit dummy, he doesn't have a better plan so he's happy to go along until he finds an opportunity, and the precise second he does he unilaterally decides to slaughter his friends and battle companions to facilitate his suicide.

It's proven because if he fails he simply breaks down and begs for death. Not for Maelle to leave, but for death. He doesn't give a fuck about her, he just wants his suffering to end at any cost.

Fake even though you are real.

Waaaaaaaah it’s the wrong substrate (paint) now I’m sad! I want to be made of atoms (even though paint is made of atoms)

Verso is just a retarded character that acts irrationally.

Oh no!
Nobody has ever had shitty parents! This changes everything!

He's still lying. That's all he does. If Renoir's Axon of him didn't clue you into that I don't know what will.

Painted Verso at least is based on something and improved upon that
humankeks are literally created out of nothing based on shitty lizard brain mechanics from 100000000000 years ago lmao

I pick Maelle's ending because it fucks over the Painters. Simple as.

it's crazy the dedication the older games used to take. 60-80 hour playthroughs with hard save points and tons of text or unskippable cutscenes.

I'm closing on 60 and still haven't beaten Simon lol. Probably another 3 or 4 hours just trying to get his parry timing right.

Dude being based on a dead kid… How dark is that? Ughh I’m so depressed even my eternal youth and big titted asian GF can’t cheer me up. Everyone… must die.

This one of the worst characters of all time. At least he looks cool and has cool lines.

Where the FUCK would Alicia the deformed social outcast cripple who never leaves her house hide it

The ventilation room with all the other hidden paintings.

They are all NPCs created with the memories of the painter. They can be created, erased and recreated on a moments notice unlike the painters themselves. Only determining factor is painters skill. I don't really feel anything for a thing that literally can not die if i so wish. They are just glorified projections.
Also, entire painting will collapse regardless when Alice dies because there will be no one left to maintain/witness it anymore. We don't even know if residents are conscious when no painter is present in the canvas considering it started as a child's playground made during his free time.

it was just to replace him as the big brother figure

With jiggle physics. Just how heavy are those.

fucks over the Painters

Only thing it fucks over is Maelle herself. And that's the point of that ending.

Obviously, there was also no way real Verso had that aesthetic body as well in late 1800s Paris or whatever
And given the size of Gustave's bulge, Aline is definitely a degenerate who obviously corrupted the purity of child Verso's painting which only had cute Gestrals and Grandis and Esquie and wasn't filled with big painted cock males

I don't really feel anything for a thing that literally can not die if i so wish.

Versotards are so stupid lol. moron if the painted people aren't real neither is Verso. His actions are either meaningless if he isn't real and is essentially an automaton, or disgustingly evil if he is real. And only he personally would know for sure if he is.

So you're simping for a guy that either doesn't exist or is a literal monster.

Tell that to Lune retard

They’re conscious because the substrate is magic paint!

They’re not conscious because the substrate is silicone circuits!

They’re not conscious because the substrate is carbon!

Fellas, if your wife goes to an imaginary world where she can create anything, and decides to fuck and live with a clone of yourself, did you get cucked or is she extra faithful?

Go easy on the samefagging

These guys are so based, only Expedition until 33 to climb the Gestral Beach tower and refused their reward because clothing is haram

Every man now has the endowment of a centaur

No STDs

No pregnancy

No sexual or racial discrimination in their society apparently

Immortality

Having seen what french porn has to offer, I know where this goes.
Everything inside out and gaping.

So the Verso in Maelle's ending is Aline Verso's? Why couldn't Maelle make a new one who would've forgot this shit?

I want dlc where gustave lives desu. I don't care if it's lame.

Just call it an RPG. It doesn't need a regional label.

Don't forget Aline giving painted Clea a hot bf and real Clea then painting him to be some muscled god slayer himbo
As if Maelle wouldn't have a harem of Gustaves too, the Dessandre women are fucking sluts, all of them

To be honest I'd get a fascinating ego boost if my wife was the literal architect of architects when it comes to multidimensional creation, and the dude that she decides is her perfect husband is me with a slightly fancier coat.
Just how good is Renoir dicking her, really?

Report and hide shillbot threads

You're very close, anon.
Whatever argument can be used to invalidate the existence or sense of self of the Lumierians based on their unequal power dynamics with their petty demiurge gods (the Painters) can be applied one to one with the Painters (or you and me) and a creator God, or any being in a "higher" dimension of existence.

Always has been. Rebirth convinced me that I'm never playing another RPG that's gonna take over 100 hours.

+At the height of her sorrow.
+During an active time of conflict against Renoir.
STILL went for him anyway.

Renoir factually proven the apex of human masculinity.

Naked 60-year old roided gigachads beating the everliving shit out of giant Nevrons barehanded.

You know how climaxes in music have satisfying drops where all the instruments come in? E33 is like a music piece that never climaxes and instead changes genre at the end.

It invokes feelings in the audience that never get any resolution. Is that to make a point? Maybe, but you don’t need a 60 hour RPG to make such a point, nor should you take 60 hours of someone’s time to make such a point, you can use a couple of sentences for that.

The plot in 33 is so banal, it does not deserve to be a 60 hour game. Such a plot should be a short film. RPGs NEED fleshed out and organic worlds, if the world is not fleshed out and real it just feels like a shitty toy and not something you can immerse yourself in. A family drama is not something that can entertain me for 60 hours, and I feel my time has been disrespected by the story culminating in such a thing. An RPG where nothing you do matters, you only impact a single family after 60 hours of perfect parrying and slaying gods and monstrosities. A massive anti-climax.

This. Game is done, DLC wouldn't make sense.
Just make a spiritual successor sequel.

DLC makes perfect sense because there's a clear world we could explore and characters that are clearly important to it that we have not seen or experienced.
Is it necessary or whatever? Probably not, though it's clear 80% of the retards that play the game doesn't understand what they just played so then again it might help.

"For those who come after" is such a fucking great line. I generally hate women who aren't my wife, but the writer did a fantastic job. Props to her.

For those who come after

Nothing comes after

Wow, subversive

I understand the double meaning they wanted to imply and I respect it but I really didn't like how they killed of my boy and in general handwaving the pain of erasing Lumiere because their shitty demiurges will "come after".
Not even Gustave is there to see Maelle do something with herself.

woke

Wrong game? This game has foot kino, every single woman is sexy, and all the main characters have bikini outfits. The only black person I can remember dies in 20 seconds.

Hopefully. I want more Clea.

Because her attachment to real Verso and guilt over feeling responsible for his death has her determined to try and give painted Verso a happy life, even if it's against his will. Can thank Aline and Clea for that too since they both blame her.

Bikinis

You expect me believe any modern western game would show skin for an attractive female?

This is the only site left where sex sells still. There would be pictures in all 12 shill threads for this game if that was true.

brem_maid.png - 374x548, 256.74K

Yeah I agree, Verso deserves his ultimate punishment of being a beloved piano player living in a happy city filled with friends who care for him, tormented by having to play nice piano concerts before going home every night to compose music and have sex with Lune. Justice is served.

Because she loves both her real brother and also loves painted Verso for who he is. When she first meets him as Real Maelle she says "you're not really Verso" but she doesn't care and still hugs him.

I mean that's only your interpretation. Gustave meant it in the most literal sense, he wants a future for Lumiere. If he knew about all the painter shit going on we have no idea how he would think. The only thing we have to go on is Lune asking him if he would still be able to put Lumiere over Maelle (the person who means most to him), and he says "I hope so."

du du du dUUUUU du du dUUUUUUU duuuu dudududud UDUUU duuu DUu DuuUUUUUU *swag*

Even the 16 year old girl gets a bikini.

The swimsuits aren't exactly sexy but they are based on vintage French swimsuits so it fits. But short of it is they are all attractive enough to draw attention but not 'oversexualized' enough for journalists to jump on a game that is so widely liked.

and have sex with Lune

It makes more sense if he romanced Sciel then since she dumps him for her gommaged husband. Might be why they made it so 99% of people would have him fuck Sciel.

Gustave meant it in the most literal sense

Of course, I'm talking about the intent of the writers.
Not the faction, the actual game writers.

Ngl I want a hook for a sequel and a way to revive my nigga Gustave.
If they could tie the 60s into that it would be great

What makes me laugh the most is seeing Verso's tombstone and realizing the entire family is going to get gigafucked to the world wars and everything they're doing is ultimately pointless.

this nigga thinks the painters come from earth

read the tombstone again anon

a way to revive my nigga Gustave.

You already did in Maelle's ending.

Elden Ring level if they're not stupid and want to keep the momentum.

Except erdtree sucked.

I wonder if the devs foresaw so many people preferring Gustave to Verso.

I'm pretty sure they did as it gives even more weight to his death

Gustave is more likeable while Verso is more interesting. Change my mind.

That's the opposite of hot, woke slop confirmed

The relationships with Esquie and Monoco alone are more interesting than Gustave.

I mean Gustave is objectively a better person than Verso. Verso is one of the most two-faced, slimey, backstabbing two timing motherfuckers I've ever seen as a lead character. He's very well written.

Verso is one of the most two-faced, slimey, backstabbing two timing motherfuckers I've ever seen as a lead character

And he's right to be one and his ending is canon.

Sneed.

Gustave's relationship with Maelle, Sciel, and Lune are more interesting.

Verso is a complex individual

Gustave is not

Yeah, that's why he's a more interesting character. Verso was also tortured by his old comrades and lover, so what reason does he have to trust anyone.

I've found out men generally prefer Gustave and women prefer Verso.

No, not even close.
Verso's relationship with Maelle is borderline this core of the game and there's actual writing behind his relationship with Sciel.

source: I made it up

Only because Gustave had so little time.

Gustave's supposed to be likeable because his sudden death is supposed to be for Maelle what Verso's was for Alicia. You're supposed to see the effect it has on Maelle, wish there was an option to save him, and then realize that's how Alicia feels about Verso and why she's so tied to the canvas.

I don't see a fucking picture of a bikini liar. Just a bunch of jewgle approved burqua swimwear.

Verso is more interesting

I just find Gustave bland.
Sure he's ok but after his suicide attempt he's just so fucking boring, dude peaks in the prologue and never gets better

Not surprising, women love "tortured and vulnerable" male characters. His mysterious as well so it makes him extra sexy.

Nice of you to concede so fast.

It's done enough so I think the only viable DLC would be a prelude to a sequel.

I concede to rape you too

Paintress was still sane enough to have a conversation.

Verso was also tortured by his old comrades and lover

After he had already betrayed them.

Do they? I've seen women simping more hardcore for Gustave than I have Verso, while in contrast a lot of guys finding Verso cooler because of the more 'anti-hero' traits and his play style.

fitlit?

Yeah

I. AM. NOT. CRAZY

Simon-centric Clea-focused dating mechanics

I've seen the exact opposite. Even here people are always calling Gustave 'chad' or 'my nigga' while Verso is described ass 'deep', 'complex' and 'realistic'

so obsessed with Clea his corpse reanimates to continue serving her

Bros... he's what I aspire to be

The only thing I’d be interested in is a game set in the outside world, exploring more of the relationship between the painters and writers. Hell, maybe each game would be better off as an anthology of sorts, each one taking place in different paintings with different styles. Verso’s being oil style and Clea’s being watercolor or something different. Could be cool.

I don't understand why anyone would call him complex. He's got a very simple motivation and just lies to everyone all the time even when telling the truth might benefit him.
I guess most people just aren't able to see that? The game kind of hammers that point in pretty hard so I don't understand how.

i honestly didnt realize that gustave was voiced by charlie cox until a few hours into the game.
i thought it was just ben starr but with a lighter tone.

No shit, Verso has negative chemistry with Lune and barely any with Sciel

He's got a very simple motivation and just lies to everyone all the time even when telling the truth might benefit him

The dude was basically Pinocchio’d, realized he wasn’t real and treated the world and everyone in it nihilistically until Maslow came around and gave him the sub conscious desire to help her. Hes actually very complex when you peel back his relationship with everyone and why he’s now deciding to do what he’s doing to help them.

Maelle* lmao. What I get for phoneposting

treated the world and everyone in it nihilistically

He didn't do this because he wasn't "real" but because everyone he got to know only ended up dying.

The dude was basically Pinocchio’d, realized he wasn’t real and treated the world and everyone in it nihilistically

I don't think I agree. It's pretty spelled out that getting tortured by his gf and friends after trying to gaslight her about his torso getting half-blasted off is what changed him.

Wow who could’ve predicted that’d happen when you have immortality?

barely any with Sciel

His relationship with Sciel is great.
Gustave legitimately has negative chemistry with her.

During the intro, when you Lune playing the guitar one of the people listening to her hints at Gustave and her having a thing but it never worked out right?

everyone he got to know only ended up dying

Yeah and he realized why bother when they’re all just recycled paint people anyways. As someone else pointed out, the family trauma he underwent only further cemented his outlook and behavior.

You wanna see people praise your character as deep just give them one insecurity.

That was kinda taken out of context.

Yeah and he realized why bother when they’re all just recycled paint people anyways

He clearly cared if we go by his own journal entry. When he says that they all deserves to live.

It was Sophie, who didn't feel like getting back with Gustave so she was probably setting her friends up

They have something of a story. Emma dated Lune's brother before he gommage'd, so they're not exactly strangers. Sophie was teasing him though, shit testing him to learn he had moved on. Gustave gave the only acceptable response.

who didn't feel like getting back with Gustave

She was minutes away from dying.

Yes, that's why.

he hates Gustave and doesn't want to give him more time

You're a bad person.

FRPG isn't a genre, it's a JRPG

Literally nobody gives a shit about the Dessentres plot line.

The retard confidently says about a game where tons of people are willing to sacrifice everything for their benefit.

I think he's referring to the players, not the in-game characters.

1. Tons of people are complaining about the act 3 story
2. The canvas gets erased no matter what you do, you’re sacrificing nothing

Story DLC would obviously be great, whatever it is.

Personally though, I'm hoping for a roguelike DLC with random skills/weapons/pictos/enemies. I think I played basically the same build from late act 1 until endless tower floor 10 and then changed a bit but played mostly the same thing for floor 11 and Simon.

2. The canvas gets erased no matter what you do, you’re sacrificing nothing

Versofag cope to justify murdering thousands of people.

I'm tired of roguelikes. Seems like every games adds it in some form nowdays.

To make that ending a bit worse. He also deserves a bit of punishment for his constant betrayals.

Alicia even if she canonically is the weakest of her family at that

I wonder if that's still true in the end, since it was her (+party) who kicked out both Aline and real Renoir while being at a chroma disadvantage.

The canvas gets erased no matter what you do

Losing a rock is better than never having a rock

I think you are confusing 'complaining' with 'debating' here. I haven't seen many outside of Anon Babble contrarians actually complaining about Act 3's story.

I guess so. I mean I like him, a lot. I love a character who's willing to sacrifice everything for his goals but he's quite simple at the end of the day.

it's funny, I was 100% behind Maelle, but that final conversation with Renoir completely won me over. Can't really think of another game that's done that for me

I haven't seen many outside of Anon Babble contrarians actually complaining about Act 3's story.

Then you aren't looking.

Act 3, until Alicia becomes her mom.

He was fully on board with her plan

He intentionally let Gustave get killed to worm himself into the group. He was scheming from the beginning.
He knew what would happen when the Paintress gets defeated. He intentionally didn't tell them, because he knew that they didn't want to wipe out Lumiere.

So how do you think they could add a large amount of combat gameplay in a DLC that doesn't get trivialized like everything in act 3 currently does, and also has a large amount of replayability?
