Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is bundled with most switches, a better measurement would be Animal Crossing New Horizons which sold roughly 47 million copies. Really user data would help the most since it'd show how many people even booted up MK8 and how many still play it. Especially with ACNH since I remember a lot of my normie friends buying it because they thought they'd play together during quarantine only to drop the game after a week also people wanted to host concerts on there but opted for Fortnite instead because ACNH was too limiting. Keep in mind the population increased, and gaming was more popular than ever from 2019 - 2023 thanks to Ninja, Fortnite, and Travis Scott. So it got signal boosted by a lot of factors while being the cheapest console at the time that didnt have availability issues, I think Mario Wonder will be a good indiciator of the future of Nintendos sales since that game came off the hype it had from the movie and sold around 12 million

152 million switches were sold no shit a good chunk of people wouldnt have gotten a bundle. Wii sports is the third highest selling game, where 82 million copies were moved and 101 million people own a wii meaning atleast 20 million or so dont own it (and its free) I'm not surprised all your friends bought mk8 seperately, it doesnt disprove that bundling works in moving copies.

DS is still the second highest selling console and somehow the switch took 10x longer to get close to surpassing it despite dominating both console and handheld markets. The Switch was tracking higher than the PS2 even before the pandemic. In fact, the Switch has been selling more than the PS2 in every year of its life. The PS2's sales are massive mostly because Sony was selling it for like 11-12 years. They only stopped like a year or two before the PS4 came out. The Switch is at 152 mil in 8 years when it took the PS2 like 11 years to hit 153 mil.
