Guards don't react to colliding with you, just light level and movement, if you're in full darkness and stay still you cannot be detected no matter what even if they're searching for you
That doesn't seem true from what I remember. Like I vividly remember them bumping into me in the dark and reacting when not searching for me, i.e. alerted.
However, I could very well be wrong as memory is fickle.

Sound rendering in this game is still unbeaten.
There are modern systems for more realistic sound propagation, even pretty performant ones for a low end pc, but game devs don't see value in them.

What you zoomers dont get is that games used to be games in the same way Hide and seek is a game. There are set rules and you play by said rules. If you can break it within the rules its fine.
