It is accurate that there is only one store in town. Then a walmart just outside of town.
No restaurants, no amenities. Just a post office, a walk in clinic, and a bar.

SDV has too many minorities, and nobody was openly gay where I grew up.

Then, there is the farming. Super unrealistic. No little blobs to pick your crops. Try putting a hat on the horse you just got, see how well that goes.
Oh yeah, and buying a horse from a carpenter? Big red flag. Its probably a mule.

Then, there's the women. The only accurate country girl in the game is Haley. Because she's like every other girl in my town - obsessed with looks on the surface, wants to get out of town... but secretly doesn't want to leave and wants a farm boy.

Oh yeah, in real life, half the town would be running a train on army man's wife while he's away. It's like keeping the seat warm for him.

I did grow up on a farm. It was amazing. I played outside all the time, got lots of sun, lots of exercise, felt alive. Not like today where I just sit in my dark bedroom and watch YouTube/browse Anon Babble.

being a farmer sounds so wholesome until you actually do it and realize that picking up crops is as repetitive and soulless as working in an office, but even worse because you'll be breaking your back doing manual labor out under the summer heat instead of sitting all day in an office with AC. farm life isn't for everyone. I knew someone with one, and I went when we'd visit for vacations to their farm and fuck, man. having to scoop up like 5 inches of cow shit, flies everywhere. milking the cows. tending to the other animals. doing that at early in the morning every day.

I grew up in a small farm. It was so fucking far away from anything, all the kids within 4 miles were rural stereotypes I didn't get along with. Except for one kid a grade ahead of me I didn't really meet until senior year that was just as big of an autist but never went outside for me to meet. Early life would have been a lot less lonely if I knew him earlier.
Other than that, life was fine you get used to the workload easily, the first month would suck though, it eats the fluff freetime.
