I guess theoretically destruction mages should be the strongest by a hair because they have convenient access to pretty much all of the damage types and are able to quickly adjust if an enemies have niche resistances. But in practice it's whatever. Like on one character I had a daedric axe enchanted to release mile wide clouds of Calming smoke every time I swung. I was able to kill king Helseth in front of his royal guard without them freaking out lmao.

You can do open lock 100 with a level 1 character depending on stats. Fortify speed to move around fast - you can get some very respectable speed if you have restoration as a major skill. You can get -resist spells if you need to kill something hard (make one with shorter duration so it's stronger - you could even stack 2-3 of them if necessary). You can stack different restore health over time spells if you're dying. Fortify health might help too but I never tried. Damage attribute might be good but I never bothered with that.

Firebite/icebite carry you through everything in the early game by being super magic efficient if you can't afford potions. Otherwise you can make a few other spells that are far better after getting some more cash.
The only real danger of pure mage is getting 1 shot because you have no health and die if something glares at you.

I think the hardest part of mage is knowing what spells are good and which ones are shit. I remember finding out greater bonewalkers could perma debuff enemies STR and starting using them + a dagger that did the same thing to perma stunlock everything.

Also playing a dedicated sneak character and not having access to chameleon, hide, flee, etc on top of Calm feels like such a waste. You're gonna be a hair off when you try to steal something and get caught when a chameleon spell would have made you elude them.

It's pretty easy to get down the river in a ship except for at Almas Thirr, had to use the console to disable some gates and a ship. Nice parking here though. There's some pretty shallow parts so you have to go a little slow but it's a lot wider than I thought it would be.

Telvanni is the most interesting in terms of flavour. Redoran I think is the most thematic choice in regards to the main story. I don't think I've ever done Hlallu all the way through, I don't really play stealth characters
