Change difficulty to master
Takes 5 minutes to kill a single bandit
Your supposed to grind Destruction to 100 first then do 1>C>2>C gameplay loop.
yes we all played it and found out it was shit 19 years ago.
the remaster changed the levelling system to cater to skyrimtards but they fucked it up so now you level up 10x faster than you're supposed to. Some new players will probably never even see certain enemies because they blew past their level bracket before going somewhere where that enemy would spawn
best to just mod it
the fact that they did nothing to try and balance the level scaling in that remaster is proof enough that it's nothing but a low effort cash grab and all its supporters are retarded garbage
just shows that your build was shit all along
Build
I just left the sewers
you look like that bosmer from the caius crotch pic
what
people actually boughted Oblivion De-make
Lmao. I'll stick with Morrowind, the last good Elder Scrolls.
make a better class
Like? Whats the secret sauce to making master mode ezpz
history repeats itself, faster and faster
poisons, conjuration, destruction and enchantments
unga bunga melee fighting without poisons or strong enchants is not viable on higher difficulties
rats and wolves stop existing as a species
You are fast traveling too much, I still see these things at level 22.
I don't fast travel really
It's hilarious that if you don't sleep right away you have a high chance of just getting three level ups at once because you kept leveling skills.
they don't stack
do you understand why that's bad game design?
so literally just dont play unless you can spam ranged attacks from the top of a rock or have minions play the game for you
They do in fact. I've had multiple times where I slept and the symbol was still there after. Just because you didn't sleep doesn't mean the bar isn't still filling.
That is the Oblivion on master experience yes. Conjuration is basically mandatory.
So making a better build wouldnt work? The solution is just to cheese the game? Kind of contradicting yourself
So making a better build wouldnt work?
That is the better build.
The game has two "builds" lmao
1. Enchant a weapon to give them a weakness and then hit them with it.
2. Paralyze something and then spend 5 minutes hacking/shooting at its corpse
Oblivion honestly has some of the worst "gameplay" and RPG elements of any major RPG released, and yes, I played it back in the day. In fact, I played it back when Oldblivion was one of the most popular mods because it ran like shit and people had to make it look like a Nintend64 game to get it to function properly.
The world is fun to explore the first time and there are some good quests but the combat and RPG elements are so awful.
Not sure why you'd think this is some mechanically in depth game. Master just bloats healthbars even more than they already are, the only solution to that is to increase your DPS to the max, which means abusing systems.
Very weird hill to die on but sure, the one of two viable builds is the better build.
Welcome to level scaling.
What you thought Oblivion scaling was a meme? Never listen to Anon Babble contrarians who said it's not actually a problem with the game.
sneak archer so you don't have to engage with the combat duh
Imagine if Morrowind had level scaling.
Cliff Racers are as strong as Dagoth Ur's servants
more like
Winged Twilights become an invasive species and replace all Cliff Racers
at master difficulty lower levels yeah you can only rely on conjuration to avoid having to spam attacks on enemies for 5 minutes straight but eventually with spellmaking you can make low mana cost nukes with destruction. good luck with monsters who have magic resist though, im lvl 30+ and 70% of the non-dremora daedra in oblivion planes are xivilai with 50% chance to resist spells.
People that say it's not a problem are the ones that get to level 10-15 and drop it, or who just never level up at all and assume everyone wants to play completely counter intuitively.
THE AYLEID WELLS ARE MIND CONTROL TOWERS!
You think Ayleid Wells are harmless little mana fountains? Just refill stations for your spells? WRONG. They’re ancient cortical leashes designed to reprogram your thought patterns every time you “meditate” at one.
The Ayleids didn’t build those wells for charity. They were broadcast pylons, transmitting magicka-encoded thoughtforms that kept their slaves docile. You think it’s a coincidence that after touching one, you suddenly feel “clear-minded” and “ready for battle”? That’s not clarity — that’s compliance.
And now, the Mages Guild is restoring them? Of course they are. They’re reactivating the network, tuning your brainwaves like a lute in a torture chamber. Every time you recharge, they siphon your willpower into a giant arcane data vault in Firsthold where it’s used to model predictive behavior simulations.
You are the experiment. Your thoughts are the currency.
INTRODUCING: NULLCAP™ – AYLEID WELL NEUTRALIZER
2099 Gold – Only 5 Left, and They’re Banned in Alinor
The NULLCAP™ is a handcrafted rune-etched obsidian circlet lined with Daedroth skin and smeared with anti-thaumaturgic resin. When worn, it blocks Ayleid psi-signals, prevents mana leash feedback, and grounds your soul aura.
Immune to mental suggestion
Compatible with most helmets
Now in “Night Eye Gray” and “Arcane Blackout” styles
Will provoke guards. Not legal in Summerset Isles. Side effects include extreme skepticism and spontaneous disobedience.
Protect your thoughts. Resist the Well.
Alek Jo’anz — still yelling, still right.
buys a bad game because it's the new (old) big thing people are talking about
it's bad
No one to blame but yourself.
i didn't buy it
By lategame you can stack enough defenses and weakness to magicka (or chameleon) everything besides physical damage is viable.
But there are only two things that work on master from the get go
poisons, as poison damage is unaffected by difficulty
summons, as summon damage is unaffected by difficulty
basically the only way to play master is to not play master
ELDER SCROLLS ARE SOUL TRAPS FOR REALITY
You ever wonder why they call them Elder Scrolls? Because they’re older than reality itself — and they don’t just predict events, they cause them. Every time someone reads an Elder Scroll, the universe lurches sideways and the timeline bleeds. That’s why readers go blind — their eyes aren’t damaged. Their minds are rejected by the false code of existence.
What do the Scrolls contain? A recursive daedric echo-loop designed to rewrite Nirn every few centuries, like a magical firmware update. You think it’s a coincidence that every “hero” who stops a crisis has some connection to one of these dusty reality-bombs? You’re not the hero. You’re a scripted correction.
The Elder Scrolls are not holy. They’re not divine. They’re cosmic scroll saws, carving mortals into shapes the Aedra and Daedra can digest.
INTRODUCING: TRUTHFOIL™ HEADWRAP
1299 Gold — ONE SIZE, TWO REMAIN!
Made from woven spider-silk dipped in rare Hist sap and lined with powdered echostone, the TruthFoil™ headwrap blocks scroll resonance, prophetic bleed, and unwanted divine narrative overreach.
Wrap it around your head and BAM! You’re no longer edible to fate. You stop being a line in a Scroll and start becoming a paragraph of resistance.
Warning: May attract Moth Priests. Do not wear near Divines shrines unless you want a sermon slapped into your aura.
See clearly. Think freely. Resist the page.
There are two Elder Scrolls in Oblivion Remastered and neither causes any side effects when read
play the original with Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul instead
The only thing good about the remaster is the character creator. Making elves that aren't 100% hideous is a fun challenge.
picrel is ur elf
This shit makes my game hard crash
install mods tbmhat fix that shit
GOTY
High IQ game.
what mod manager do you use? does it hard crash on startup or after a while?
crashes on startup and I use MO2. It crashes even when no other mods are loaded.
Why are all the elves perpetually stoned in this game?
I used Wrye Bash, don't know if it works with MO2 but last time I tried using it I also got crashes.
a crash on startup could also mean you're missing a dependency for an ESP file
Everyone and their mother is on dat Skooma
Ascension is the best mod for that right?
This isnt how Alex Jones speaks
No thanks
Or Obscuro's Oblivion Overhaul. Use Ascension if you want to use a different or no combat rebalance mod.
It is. The best outcome from it is that you don’t get unlimited access to the best gear in the game from just fighting shitty bandits. A lot of people complain that glass and ebony are too rare as a result, but they should be.
BUY MY NEW BOOK: 'DAEDRA IN THE DUCTS – THE TRUE STORY OF A COLDHARBOUR COVER-UP'"
“The Mages Guild won’t publish it. The Elder Council tried to have me banned from every library in Tamriel.
But it’s out there now—inked in Spriggan blood, hand-bound in guar leather, only 2,000 copies printed on sheared Mythic Dawn pamphlets.
Learn the truth THEY tried to banish to Oblivion itself!
I just wish enemies would do expert damage while we keep our adept damage. I don’t even bother blocking.
Cool. I was also thinking of also adding that mod that makes clutter more valuable too for an alternative income source.
I saw a recommendation from a guy who said his ideal way to play is to play on adept. Rolling through enemies is fun and fodder should get crushed. Bump the difficulty up to expert for Oblivion Gates and dungeon bosses. Those should be a challenge. Then use master for the final bosses. Seems reasonable to me until a better scaling mod gets developed. The slider ones that are out now aren’t ideal.
I know who you’re talking about. Sounds reasonable enough. I just really dislike how magic and enchanting are the only ways to be strong. I got excited seeing the debuff perk for blade but it hardly lasts and honestly isn’t that noticeable. I have 100 willpower and agility and still run out of fatigue quick as hell.
The level scaling was always bad but how fast certain skills level up makes it even worse. You just speedrun to level 20 like it's nothing. Then it feels a little more normal only because those skills hit max level. Mod to slow down everything doesn't work well because it's mostly magic like restoration and illusion that levels ridiculously fast, but your blade, blunt, block, etc. feels like a snails pace by comparison.
I know there are some mods that target certain fast leveling skills only but I don't trust it's fully tested, I already see comments how some of it is fucked up.
At the end of the day it's not that big a deal I guess. You're blowing past weak bandits and some shitty enemies but there's still plenty to do at 20+ for your character. I just use it as an opportunity to make more characters and do different quests with each.
It definitely needs to be retuned for TES6. Skyrim wasn't nearly as bad but still needs improvement.
“YOUR SWEETROLL IS A SYMBOL OF SUBMISSION!”
By Alek Jo’anz, broadcasting from an undisclosed mead cellar beneath Bravil
You ever wonder why every guard in Tamriel asks you if someone stole your sweetroll? Why that question? Why not “Did someone mug you?” or “Did a troll headbutt your uncle?” No. It’s always the sweetroll.
Because the sweetroll is not just a pastry — it’s a cultural obedience test, a sigil of soft-skulled servitude pushed by secret worshippers of Clavicus Vile. You heard me. That sticky swirl of sugar and bread is a Daedric brand, used to identify the compliant.
You keep accepting sweetrolls from strangers? You’re marking yourself as spiritually weak, an easy mark for contracts, pacts, and soul trades. That’s why they’re always “just lying around.” It’s a bait test. Eat it, and boom — you’re on the Daedric mailing list.
And don’t even get me started on the Guard Script. Every single soldier asking that same question? They’ve been trained to gauge your reaction. You laugh? You pass. You stammer? You’re flagged. You cry? Congratulations — Dagon’s already got your bedroom mapped.
INTRODUCING: THE DE-SWEETROLLER™ NECKLACE
1777 Gold – ONLY 2 LEFT (One was suspiciously stolen!)
The De-Sweetroller™ is a pendant forged in the Shivering Isles from unstable logic crystal and bound with anti-pastry wards. It instantly repels sweetroll-related mind control, guard phrase-checks, and low-tier enchantment baiting.
Guaranteed to turn sugar into salt on contact
Emits a field that causes guards to ask better questions
Smells faintly of cinnamon betrayal
Side effects include pastry paranoia, increased jaw clenching, and vivid dreams of butter daemons.
Don’t take the roll. Take control.
— Alek Jo’anz, rolling out.
It’s the unfortunate truth of Oblivion. Always has been. Everyone is a mage, whether they like it or not. Physical damage just does not scale well on its own and you begin to hit the constraints of fatigue like you said when you’re hitting enemies 50 times to kill them. You have to stack weakness as a warrior. So you get to pick between alchemy, enchanting, or destruction or a combination of them.
