I think it is important to point out for Nvidia the cost for adding additional VRAM is negligible, consumers have this idea that companies buy memory modules at the cost a user would but that is untrue Nvidia and AMD buy VRAM as well as the AIB's in allocations of 50,000 units, 100,000 units etc. They get massive deals to buy at wholesale and more money off if they regularly purchase X amount, these are stipulated in painstakingly long-term drawn-out contracts.

To put this in perspective 8GB of GDDR6 costs $27 for anyone to buy but with negotiated contracts AIB's, Nvidia and AMD can get that VRAM for 20-50% off depending on how large the orders are and how long the agreement period is to use X memory producer as their primary memory supplier. This means that increasing the VRAM by say 50-100% so upto 12GB-16GB would only cost in reality $7-$18, Memory is if not one of the cheapest components and the easiest to scale.

My 4070 runs raytracing fine, the only time I've seen it be used well was in Rift Apart, and that game almost looked the same without it on, proving once again that you don't need ray tracing.

As you get older, your backlog of games gets bigger and bigger due to lack of time to play them. I can avoid buying games for the next 3 years and still have something to play. I have 2 external drives full of games. I still didnt even finish RDR2 for example.
