What's the dumbest piece of Kingdom hearts lore that's canon?
What's the dumbest piece of Kingdom hearts lore that's canon?
Larxene is marluxias sister... for some reason
replicas other than riku replica
Data replicas, rather than just using DARK magic or something. Mixing in Tron scifi magic with KH's Final Fantasy styled magic is beyond retarded and goes along with .
Also time travel.
Ventus is over 70 years old. Yes it's true.
Donald Duck is one of the most powerful mages in the universe.
BBS trio are unaged due to-
Castle Oblivion magic, which is in the realm of Darkness
Realm of Darkness Magic
and
Xehanort, which is also Realm of Darkness Magic
I don't doubt it, still stupid.
Sora was able to be stalked through an entire game because he wore a shirt with an X on it
That's based though
The second Keyblade War happened within the past 100 years meaning what is talked about as if it's ancient history is within living memory for some people like Mickey.
Mickey, Donald, Goofy, Minnie, and many other Disney characters existed during the Age of Fairytales and somehow don't remember Keyblades or what happened even though their home worlds weren't destroyed, put to sleep, or had to be reconstructed by the Scala crew which would have caused them to lose their memories. MDG not knowing what a Keyblade looked like or who to look for in KH1 makes no sense.
Dream Eaters are just sleeping Dandelion members meaning Sora and Riku were basically treating a bunch of humans like pets.
Scala ad Caelum is still around despite the school shooting, we just haven't seen any Keyblade Wielders from it for some reason.
There are two darknesses in the Kingdom Hearts series: Darkness and darkness. Darkness (Capital D) are living beings of instinctual darkness that you can speak and reason with while darkness is the actual elemental concept or however you want to put it.
Ventus is from the Age of Fairytales making him older than both Xehanort and Eraqus.
Ventus, Larxene, and Marluxia were not only friends but are older than a majority of the cast.
No she isn't. Larxene is the Nobody of Elrena. Marluxia is the Nobody of Lauriam. Elrena was friends with Lauriam's sister Strelitzia. They were all Keyblade Wielders in the Age of Fairytales with both Lauriam and Strelitzia being the new Union Leaders. Vanitas (Possessing Ventus as a Darkness) killed Strelitzia to steal her place as a Union Leader and follow what they were doing from the inside through Ven. Strelitzia loves Player and is now somehow back alive in Quadratum for some reason despite Lauriam and Elrena trying to create a new body from her data in Data Daybreak Town since she's dead.
Killing Heartless makes Kingdom Hearts stronger, which is bad, but Kingdom Hearts is light, which is good, but bright light causes dark shadows, which is bad, but light is good, which is good!
What was Xemnas's fucking plan again? At least Ansem was ignorant, and Xehanort was actually planning on doing something with it.
Bitchass duck can’t even heal me when I need it most.
Thats quacked up
X
everything with this letter and its "importance" in these games
what the fuck was Nomura thinking
I adore the Traverse Town expanded areas in Dream Drop Distance with more Districts. Thought it was fun. Shame we didn't get the same experience with Twilight Town in KH3,
Xehanort starting Real Organization XIII like
Wagie Dexter: Ansem
Base Dexter: DDD Xehanort
Action Dexter: Xemnas
Future Dexter: Xehanort (OG)
Its canon that Nomura has been seething over versus for close to 2 decades now
Goofy had unprotected sex and had a son
Yozora
There are two darknesses in the Kingdom Hearts series: Darkness and darkness.
If it helps there is also water and Aqua, earth and Terra, and air and Ventus.
Kingdom Hearts could use a SOUL boost if you know what I mean
CHI BLADE
no idea if that's even true but it's funny so I believe it unconditionally
Oh, it's true.
i was 100% expecting us to get a real level for a data Twilight Town in 3
the fool i was
One little detail I love about Kingdom Hearts is how it uses super bosses to foreshadow future games
That's an honestly genius concept that more games need to do, it feels like a lost art.
Jesus I can't even begin to wrap my head around everything you wrote about the keyblade war. I'm guessing this lore is from a phone game that's shut down.
i will never be more confused to why they went back to making old man nort the final boss instead of terra-nort
spock even died, why would they do it like that
KH4
Replaced the villain from KH1-3 with comic relief Marvel quipping mobile gacha character who appeared in 2 cutscenes in the actual games for 6 minutes and 36 seconds
Organization XIII is replaced with mobile gacha characters who have cardboard one dimensional personalities and appeared in 1 cutscene for 2 minutes and 55 seconds in the actual games
In order to understand backstory you need to play multiple mobile gachas (SOME OF WHICH ARE OFFLINE NOW)
QTEs
Strong woman representation
Unreal Engine 5
Nomura is retiring and giving away the franchise to literally who
IT'S OVER
This motherfucker can steal your Kupo Coin and use it just when you think you’ve beat him, he pulls a Street Fighter 3 Gill Resurrection on your ass
anything from ddd
Tbf he's the only Nort to actually deman attention, Ansem just gaslights Riku and jobs to his own scheme.
Xemnas tries and somewhat fails to gaslight the Org into believing they don't have hearts, so much so that he pushes Roxas back into Sora, and Xion into Roxas before that.
BBS Xehanort won the most.
It is. KHUX and Dark Road are mandatory in order to understand anything going forward. Hell, it was already mandatory for some of KH3. The video included in 2.8 explains absolutely nothing and is just the Foreteller's side of the very beginning of why the Keyblade War begins to start. It doesn't even cover MoM creating Chirithies and corrupting Player's so that the Keyblade War can actually start because of it.
This screenshot is also real dialogue and does mean something.
because japs don't care about dub VAs, they won't replace dead japs though that's why all phil did in 3 was smile
χ-Twitter
What's gonna happen with Sora now that Haley Joel Osment hot drunk and hated on a jew?
replay 1 on proud
happy as fuck to nail the fights for all the FF characters including Seph
replay 2 on crit
sad I only really enjoy fighting Seph, but he's there
3
can't even fight Noctis, instead have to fight Nomura's other OC, that may fit into 4, but is the only real note fight of the game next to KH OCs
the fight is fine, but I wish Disney wasn't anti-FF, or Nomura gave more of a shit.
Holy shit
im already half xenanort
Jesus fuck that's actual dialog
Tying lore to Mobile Slop was the biggest mistake of this franchise
He's Xehanort? HE'S Xehanort? I'M XEHANORT! ARE THERE ANYMORE XEHANORTS I SHOULD BE AWARE OF?
~meow~
I kinda think Re:Coded is the worst
Also time travel.
Don't you have to send your body into the future or some shit? Time travel is completely lost on me all I know young Xehanort can eat a dick for this
Essentially you have to have a body at that specific point in time to be able to time travel to it. It's really weird and doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
why are there two Roxases
Sora did it with the Power of Waking, Xehanort did it that way. EITHER way it's retarded.
Also yeah, pic-rel is the worst experience in any KH game, maybe rivaled by how brutal Verum can be. Except on PSP, MF's chain grapple is a guaranteed KO.
even a sub lv 75 Sephiroth attempt on KH1 is more feasible to do no damage on than that. YOU NEED to Thunder Surge and you NEED to be sure you catch him in his later phase when he's fucking invisible.
fucking AIDS of a car ride this game became.
t. Regular Pat
There are multiple time travel methods with completely different mechanics.
Xehanort Style: Give up your body and become only a heart. Can only go backwards in time once, then can only move forward. Must be either a version of you existing or someone who remembers you waiting at your destination. Need either a replica body or a medium related to you to have a real physical form. Cannot change history.
Sora Style: Die and go to limbo. Collected pieces of yourself. Then abuse the power of waking repeatedly and kill the grim reaper. This somehow creates a hole in reality to restart you right before you died. Can change history. Then keep abusing the power of waking and get banished to Shibuya
Pete Style: Really miss owning a boat. Can create paradoxes and change history.
why are there two Roxases
They’re actually Soras
Anymore versions of Sora we are missing? I know there’s
Sora
Not Sora (Roxas)
Kairi-Sora (Namine)
Puppet Sora (Xion)
Not Not Sora (Ventus)
Sora Not Sora (Vanitas)
Digi-Sora (ReCoded Sora)
Dream Sora (DDD Sora)
Chess Sora (from Alba Adder?)
Digi-Sora 2.0 (3 ReMind Data battles)
Kairi-Sora 2.0 (MoM final "boss")
And Smash Sora AKA Digi-Sora 3.0
Data sora
Data sora 2.0
Dream Sora
Yozora
Kid Sora
Heartless Sora
Shadow Sora
I think he means that ventus was around for the events of Union X
What if you could erase the spinoffs and side games, just having Kingdom Hearts be a simple and clean trilogy? What would you do?
Mickey, Donald, and Goofy not knowing shit has been retarded since BBS thoughever
The aforementioned Keyblade thing
Not knowing where Yen Sid lives despite hanging out there the entirety of BBS
None of them acknowledging that Roxas looks exactly like their friend Ventus when they saw his picture in 2
KH is a mix of anime and Disney logic where you can pretty much do anything with enough emotions, autism, or some mix of both.
They made Sora too much of a dumbo in KH3 to point where even he can’t understand his own series lore and events that were added or retconned into the series after the first game.
You have to exist at the point where you go back in time and you can't change anything that happens in the future while doing so.
If you want to return to the present you need your body or a vessel to be present and someone who remembers you. This is why Maleficent reforms in KH2 when the fairies remember her and why Brain reforms in Scala when someone instructed by Ephemer thinks about him while holding his hat. Returning to the present causes you to lose all memory of what happened in the past.
You can retain information from going back into the past as shown with Maleficent taking over Data Maleficent in Data Daybreak Town and being influenced by Darkness telling her about the Book of Prophecy. As long as you take an Ark (Which is a device that can send you back to the present or a different location) it lets you circumvent that.
There's Yen Sid's way where he just magically warps you back into the past like we see in DDD with no downside. You still need to exist but you exist separate from your actual self at that time period.
There's Timeless River's way which who knows how the hell that works because you can influence it and go back into the past.
Then there's Sora's way through the Power of Waking where you can break the laws of reality and physically take you back to the past to play some shitty timelines that suck ass.
The absolute, tier one, STUPIDEST shit in the series is that Old Man Nort somehow came back.
his entire plan in BBS is to cause the Ventus x Vanitas fight and get a new Body to watch it happen
he succeeds in both, but Ventus fucking murders himself so that goes bust and he loses to Aqua and gets literal amnesia
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>OLD MAN XEHANORT IS NOW DECEASED AND POSSESSING TERRA<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
starts working in a lab with Ansem (forma de Wise) since he got picked up by him
goes schizo doing heart experiments (a big no-no) and murder-suicides everybody in the lab except Ansem
this splits everybody up into Heartless and Nobodies because retcons
Xehanort's Heartless is so dark and spooky it gains sentience, calls itself Ansem, and keeps doing experiments (also it keeps Terra's Heartless on a leash, as a pet)
Terra's Nobody (who is TERRA'S nobody since Xehanort's body is long fucking disintegrated [DON'T YOU DARE TELL ME NO HEART IS HIS NOBODY AND YOU KILL IT DURING THE KH2 FINAL FIGHT, FUCK YOU, THAT IS EXPLAINED NOWHERE AND CAN ONLY BE INFERRED BY THE DOGSHIT BBS ARENA FIGHT]) also takes the name Ansem (???????????????) but then starts the annoying trend of throwing an X in there, making Xemnas
him and the rest of the lab crew's nobodies make up a funny organization, their heartless are unremarkable and never seen
don't get me started on Roxas (who looks like Ventus) or the puppet (who looks like Kairi)
they all get merc'd by Sora over three games
when they "recomplete" (also a retcon), instead of Terra coming back with Nort inside, Terra comes back normally completely emptied out somehow and Old Man Xehanort just COMPLETELY reforms and uses a piece of his heart to 'repossess' him
NOTE: Terra's Heartless, and therefore his Heart, is STILL THERE being CONTROLLED BY XEHANORT
Seriously, what in the FUCK was Nomura smoking when he made Old Man Nort the villain of KH3 instead of Terra-Xehanort?
Xehanort's Heartless is so dark and spooky it gains sentience,
I thought the idea was that willingly turning yourself into a heartless is what let you keep sentience, which is why Sora could do it too. But Xehanort was dark and spooky enough to retain his form as a heartless, or something
3 was a lot of lost potential
keyblade graveyard is cutscenes and corridors
Scala (fixed with DLC) looks KINO and you only get to experience a very bizarre bossfight
Disney worlds are okay but have nothing going on
no other non-disney worlds unlike KH1 and 2 having a lot of cool OC
Hopefully 4 will fix something with it but I'm not hopefully
I enjoy playing the side games so nah. As stupid as the story gets, Kingdom Hearts III's horrible writing is entirely its own fault and could have been salvaged even with the earlier games being written how they are.
Another stupid thing about KH3 is apparently Axel and Kairi “training” in some hyperbolic time chamber off screen and yet they still end up sucking in the Keyblade Graveyard
This is the kind of autism rant I live for
Data Org is alright except Xaldin (fuck that nigger). I wish Terra was more fun to fight but unfortunately Terra's DM move is some real pain to learn and his lockout moves are too fast for my boomer hands
KH3 worlds weren't all great but Toy Box and The Caribbean are some of the best in the series
Always wanted to see Aqua try on that glass slipper
For me it's everyone telling Sora "follow your heart" and "fuck you learn the power of waking before we'll trust you with anything important" while he's begging to go try and actually use the power of waking to save people. He's treated like an incompetent moron the entire game by people he's saved six times over.
What was wrong with Soul and Zootopia? Soul fits KH perfectly and would be incredible to see the Jerries and Terry animated in a game while also swapping to the real world to help Joe. Zootopia would work perfectly fine as a world having lots of variety visually and the movie was alright. Coco (Which is already confirmed as part of KH canon thanks to KHUX) would also have some fantastic locations to run around in and a story that fits it.
I'm with you on Onward and Luca, haven't seen the other two. Onward is one of the worst Disney movies I've seen with completely unlikable characters the whole movie and Luca was just extremely boring the whole way through.
Tangled is great you schizo fag. Enjoy getting your posts deleted.
There's the Sora that Yozora looks for, which isn't Sora. And then Yozora himself is also not Yozora
Everything about the ending is retarded.
entire game is about getting ready for the big fight
Nomura decided the best way for it to play out was having all of the keyblade wielders, Sora, Riku, Mickey, Aqua etc all die simultaneously, within seconds of each other, fighting shadow heartless being carried around by a gust of wind (I understand that's only a visualization but it's an incredibly poor one and it's still a stupid concept to have them all just die instantly).
They don't get suckerpunched, surprised, or ambushed, they face the enemy head on and are all killed instantly
Just for Sora to "no way fag" that timeline anyway
I don't care if Nomura wanted to set up this power of waking/Sora going to purgatory bullshit, it was still the worst possible way to do it. It reads like a joke. I don't think you could possibly come up with anything dumber unless they all slipped on ice at the same time and broke their necks.
Why are the KH1 designs more fun and colorful while KH3 is so boring and drab?
gets on glider
flies around for 30-45 seconds while invulnerable
gets off glider
immediately gets back on glider
The ai for that fight could be pretty obnoxious.
You’ll never understand the struggle of trying to make out this series’ spaghetti of lore and events
Also this, hope we get to see more of Lauriam and Elrena in the future
Switch 2 (PHYSICAL) release when?
No one cares
That too, but consider that no in from BBS, in 3 (which is a decade + later) age due to their circumstances.
You can't just plug in 2 aftet 1 without COM but RECOM outside of the card shit is actually fun so I wouldn't include it into 1 as an extended story episode, 2 is absolutely fine the way it is after and the Terra shit can segway into a very limited Terra cut of BBS, ending with the Aqua story and 0.2, which then leads directly to KH3. DDS is completely optional and doesn't really mean anything to the story other than Sora getting raped and the young Xehanort reveal could be done with the MF bossfights. Admittedly this would work a lot better as a 3 disc single release in the far future ala the FF7 game (not the remake)
I don't even think it's hard to follow if you actually play the games. It's just needlessly stupid and circumlocutory
Goku isn't even a meathead, Goku is genuinely very talented and somewhat of a crafty fighter until GT happened. Cell and Buu Saga Goku had Goku actually using his brain
filtered by the card system
prefering RECOM
Disgusting.
Those were pretty good, Caribbean was kino of the highest order but I didn't like that it skipped the Kino that was Pirates 2 as well as being basically 3 cutscenes and a collectathon
We very likely will. Larxene and Marluxia both remembered their past when they died in KH3 with Marluxia remembering the Strelitzia stuff and Larxene remembering why she was following Marluxia around be it because of Strelitzia or loving Lauriam. Strelitzia is somehow around in KH4 meaning either Elrena and Lauriam actually brought her Data form into reality somehow, somehow got pulled out of Quadratum, and then became Nobodies that just so happened to land in Xemnas' lap, or something happened to separate them from Quadratum and they eventually became Nobodies.
Given how exposition heavy the start (post-Roxas) of 2 is, AND given how hard they hammer in on the existence of nobodies WHILE showing cutscenes from 1 of Sora turning into a heartless, this (YOU NEED COM/RECOM BEFORE YOU PLAY 2) point is moot in a series like this that likes to explain away every-fucking-thing.
You wouldn't tell someone they have to play 358 before 2 as well, would you?
I forgot to say but San Fransokyo was actually kinda cool but I didn't like how it was basically Three disconnected rooms with basically no exploration when the movie had a lot of different locations, sort of speaks to budget cuts I feel with how massive pirates was with it's own two gameplay systems
meant I would prefer it. I like it given the card game too but it's a bit heavy on the autism for my tastes.
Either way I just think the whole fake twilight town and where Sora starts in 2 makes 0 sense if you jump into it directly from 1. The nobody explanations could be kept to a minimum in the 1-COM expansion
Didn't like cards
Filtered
This fucking thread is frying my brain and cracking me up. I fucking love how dumb this series lore is
You wouldn't tell someone they have to play 358 before 2 as well, would you?
Well 358/2 released after KH2 anyway so they obviously can't expect you to know anything about that.
Going from 1 to 2 without COM is jarring without knowing what the fuck happened between the games and they don't really explain it that much beyond saying they need to thank Namine.
WHAT'S IN THE FUCKING BOOOOXXXXXXXXX
I always wondered if Reno of the Shinra Turks inspired Axel
The only question that needs to be asked is "why was Sora in the pod", and Ansem the wise, the intro cutscene, logs, Mickey and later Org member retell you events.
Again, it's a japanese series, exposition dumps happen all over. These stories aren't hard to get, they're just convoluted in nature to prolong the series.
I don't like the instant counterattacks and the starting attack one shotting you unless you're ontop of your game, but yes the AI is pretty good at annoying you. Vexen and Sexion is also pretty annoying as well as waterman
I liked the cards but it took a while for it to become fun
It makes me happy Anon Babble still has a soft spot for my favorite childhood series.
I played all the games and read this whole thing and still don't understand what's going on
Not even Pixar Movies are doing well, but iirc didn’t Inside Out 2 dethrone that Live Action Lion King movie
I feel like the exact details are a bit important to understanding some aspects of 2 and it's much more fun to experience it via a condensed form of COM akin to 1 or 2 KH worlds compared to listening to Ansem overexplain what happened in a long cutscenes. I don't like the over-exposition the game partakes in
The series across the board is consistent for ARPG games, it's just the surface level normalfag take at-
LMAO MIGGEY MOUSE IN BLACK LEATHER AND CLOUD STRIFE IN A GAME XD?!
then Epic Mickey came out, then Advent Children, then Toonami got super popular, and then Geek became chic and now normal fags claim to have always had a soft spot and think it's cringe kino and not just an honest fantasy collab.
not a big fan of BBS
still really like the command board
Even back when it was on the PSP I really liked that specific part a lot.
it was too empty
Frozen Arendelle was the worst of the worst, I’d rather play any worst world from the other games, they’d still be better than Arendelle
Skipping it also means Riku had massive character development offscreen that doesn't get brought up in KH2, Castle Oblivion will make no sense going forward when it's used as a huge reveal in BBS and later KH3, Sora went from running around a field to in a vat with his friends, there's now some blonde chick you have to thank who is barely explained at all who she is in KH2 or what she can even do, multiple Organization members are mysteriously dead because of some operation that is barely explained, Riku mysteriously has some sort of puppet that he's friends with in KH3, Vexen created Replicas which aren't even properly explained in KH3 and are vital to understanding how any of the time travel in KH3 works, etc.
The only question that needs to be asked is "why was Sora in the pod"
Not at all. There's also everything I just listed, and you create numerous issues in future games by skipping them because nothing gets explained about them outside of it expecting you to already know barring a very short summary in Jiminy's Journal in KH3. A portion of Re:Coded in particular has you retread CoM as already having happened which would make no sense because you never experienced it.
KH3 was very sucky
Pretty much all the soras
I'm talking games between 1 and 2, ignoring BBS-3. You don't really need CoM or Days to understand 2, assuming you finish and extract all the information it gives you.
3 is another can of worms and any fan knows this.
Yeah, caribbean was pretty empty too but it incorporated a pretty large amount of the first movie and some other cool stuff. Again though I kinda wish the game's budget didn't go all into Arendelle and Corolla
yeah, gameplay is a massive downgrade from 2FM and the story is wasted on disney filler that had nothing to do with the story, just to throw the actual story into a boss rush right at the end
tbf
teen gets older and more mature after an offscreen time skip in the MC's eye
is a popular trope in japanese media. Very Naruto-esque
I wonder how they would do an Inside Out world, in fact that specific world would be perfect for a game like Chain of Memories which deals with whether one’s memories are real or fake
Release I'll agree, but KH3 with the Re:Mind update is relatively pretty good. It's no 2FM but the lengths to which it tries to be playable compared to BBS and DDD is pretty admirable
Make it take place in (Hollow Bastion/Traverse Town) character, like how Tron seemingly just takes place there. The gimmick of Inside Out is that everyone has those sets of characters in their heads, as emotions. So you could do a Pooh-Book approach, a Tron approach, just a one-off world you come back to and unlock pieces of (like pages) to get the full head space or something thematic to KH like that.
So sad we never got a Finding Nemo world or The Incredibles … :(
COM 2 or a COM remaster that didn't include a bunch of the same stories as in 1 could be pretty cool
I think the Incredibles would be really cool to have in 4 or a future game but a finding nemo world wouldn't pass over very well with how people disliked TLM and Lion King's very obtuse gameplay
All around it was garbage, but Tangled and Pirates worlds were fantastic and the DLC was great. Aside from that, yeah trash.
Swimming controls in 1, was actually awful. Swimming in any action game rapes the experience. That said, I'm not anti-animals because Lion's Den allowed you to just run super fast and clear the world in under an hour.
Remember that leaked pilot of a Kingdom Hearts animated series that was supposed to air on the Disney Channel, were we robbed?
The thing is, the jump from 1 to 2 without CoM is completely manageable and I'd wager over 75% of people who played them on PS2 played it that way. CoM is circumvented by Sora not remembering what happens in it. Not even Donald or Goofy keep their full set of memories, the main trio is entirely in the dark about that game which makes skipping it, from the perspective of Sora (the Player), completely plausible.
And, I want to add this in here, this continues up to DDD. Had Dream Drop Distance been KH3 like it was clearly meant to be, you could say the same for Days, for Re:Coded, and for BBS. Sora is not meaningfully present for any of those. Yes, he shows up in BBS as a kid but five gets you ten he doesn't remember that, either. BBS should've been a PS3 game, anyway. The "side game" problem didn't exist until DDD because, until DDD, Sora wasn't involved in the events in a way he could remember. They were all stories completely outside his purview and, if they came up, would have to be explained to him (therefore, the player) as well.
DDD jumped the fucking shark and made Sora a main character again, and had the audacity to explain pretty much every fucking game between 2 to then to him as well (except Coded lmao) so that when KH3 started proper, Sora had more information than the lowly KH1 and KH2 player. This is the biggest disconnect and the reason KH3 is so easy to bounce off of, disregarding the gameplay for a minute.
So many fucking problems would've been solved had KH3D just been KH3 from the fucking outset.
honest fantasy collab.
The lore for kingdom hearts is something I'll never stop making fun of but it's genuine amazing collab. The fact that Kingdom hearts takes its world seriously is the best part. It will just end up like Forspoken or the new DMC series with no sincerity that makes it fall apart.
The whole thing is retarded and makes no sense, there's nothing that is not stupod or embarassing about KH, even the fact that they mostly relegate Disney shit to filler and the game has nothing to fo with it ans it's about Sora and Roxas and heartless and shit is fucking stupid.
I'm scared of how bad it could have been, but made now it might be steven universe 2.
You can absolutely find the collab in concept to be hilarious, hell I even get the memes that sprouted from the absurdity, but you can't say it's not a series that tries. But I think the Fantasy of oldschool Disney and the Fantasy of Final Fantasy mesh well for the most part.
The whole concept of Light and Dark are basically Holy/Dark magic of FF.
don't let people use guard, dodge roll, quick run, aerial dodge as a lion
limit the form to specific lion form only combos and air combos
Fix those two things and suddenly a faster Sora sounds pretty fun. Little Mermaid in 2 is mostly bad because people grew up with the threat of their dad walking in, the embarrassment, and the button presses not lining up for every song. At least the world lasts about 12 minutes.
KH1 Atlantica on the other hand is better if you prioritize magic, but otherwise yeah the level design is shit and the dolphin is still weird to this day.
marry fuck kill
Speaking of Little Mermaid in Atlantica, Sora needed to be transformed there but not in the underwater sections of the KH3 Caribbean, completely making his Mermaid transformation retroactively pointless
Marry Sora
Fuck Roxas
Kill Ventus
Darkness within darkness
Yensid is disney backwards and disney cant lose so he never fights
I'm gonna go with
Sora, Donald and Gooby chase the Ansem possessed Riku and when Ansem gets to his final form. Actually, Ansem/Xehanort, the heart of Eraqus and Terra make up the final form. All while off screen King Mickey and Aqua are battling a swarm of Shadows who form a tornado while Mickey waits to shut Kingdom Hearts on the other side.
Retcon, Phil.
It would raise more eyebrows than him gliding I suppose, plus that would imply he should be able to turn into a Lion at will too.
Chain of Memory Enjoyers
Almost all of Organization 13 members are basically Turks
It's decent, gotta play the GBA one though for those beautiful sprites
Should've used the CoM Menu for the Luxord fight. My biggest complaint for it.
Sup
caribbean was fucking horrible what are you smoking, only good thing about it was sora jumping on davy jones back and punching him
I was kinda surprised that the forms had so much attention to detail that every different Sora design and shading had it's complementary forms but Lion Sora doesn't even get different colors or gameplay. Not blocking alone is probably part of the reason Scar and the big Monkey are so hard on critical
He only gets transformed by Donald's magic to fit in. He doesn't need to be a merman to swim.
I get that GBA has more spells, and the system is made for it in mind. But I'd rather take the consistent PS2 cutscenes to carry a marathon over to 2, with GBA being on the end of it for appreciation points.
Are you serious? It's literally the best world in 3, it's extremely good and one of the only good parts of 3.
the point was obviously blending in with the mermen, like he did with the lions
Pirates world people having extraordinary breath capacity seems to be kind of the standard given no one dies by drowning in the movies and there's plenty of borderline magic
BBS and 0.2 added way too much unnecessary fluff to KH1's ending.
Holy shit taste, imagine hating pirate kino
if you liked AC black flag then sure i can see why you would think that, but the boat combat sucks, water combat is still shit even if the spells change and it's nothing but island hopping if you don't just rush straight through
it's not the worst world but it's not fun either or maybe it's just because i don't care about POTC after the first movie
I feel like that was everyone's initial theory based on roxas being barely kind of like sora but a little different and a handful of O13 being obviously final fantasy characters with slight changes, but then nomura got butthurt that people figured out his big "secret" plot point or something and retconned a bunch of shit about the whole metaphysics of the lore to make it untrue
t. Xehanort
Where do you even find this menu? Is this in KH3?
kino keyblade with kino transformations
great final boss for once in a Disney world with clear rules and good design
genuine OC story stakes for once with the box actively present
a lot of cool exploration even if ultimately pointless
good level design, fun and seamless
sea magic is cool
It's pretty great
Pirates 1, 2, and 3 are all Kino but a lot of the kino in them is in the insane globe trotting that gets skipped to go straight from Pirate Hell into the Caribbean
KH2.
The Mansion's White Room and, I recently learned, Pod Room. It's only in those two rooms as far as I'm aware.
But then you get Sora's puberty voice coming out of nowhere in ReCoM, while playing CoM you'll still hear his KH1 voice, and then you hear him older for the first time in KH2 after a year passes.
pointless
The point was to show off his boy nipples
This. I can't stand hearing that voice come out of baby faced Sora.
The fact that Kingdom Hearts is mocked for its ridiculous plot but Resident Evil, Metal Gear Solid, Souls, Assassins Creed, capeshit, etc etc etc are arguably more retarded but praised or at worst their convoluted plots quietly ignored
and then you have DDD where it sounds like he wasn't even given any direction and sounds like absolute shit
I'm still shocked Luxord didn't even get a secret boss fight in Re: CoM, and he had nothing to do with the plot of a game with cards.
Oh that's right, nearly forgot because of how rarely they show up. I wonder if that means they planned to do more with that later or if it was just a fun nod
Nomura will never let go
Scar almost necessitates you hold on to ethers to reflect attacks via reflect unless you play pretty patiently. The giant heartless on the revisit has a weird tendency to summon fire and lightning randomly to fuck you up.
MG usually gets a pass because the in-game story is mostly self-contained and rarely overtly self-referential, while also including a lot of "politics" into it. I think RE gets mocked pretty often for having pretty absurd plot too outside of the actual in-game plot in something like RE2
I loved Haley, but I think it's time for him to throw in the towel on Kingdom Hearts regardless. He just can't do the voice well anymore, it's time to pass on the torch.
It comes down to the fact that some people play games for the gameplay.
finally get ontop of the elephantmonkeynigger
summons lightning on top of you so you have to dodge while he attacks
lose out on your DPS opening and go back to hitting the legs like a wagie
That bossfight sucks for a lot of reasons but nearly every forced fight in lion king sucks too because of the T-rex's
get a character with a unicorn mask tied to past events
we don't get any lore tying him to twilight town with the abandoned mansion filled with unicorn based imagery and to explain why the other pods were there
GBA come doesn't come with the insanely kino riku plot though doesn't it?
They should've just done a Quadratum mobile game over what ever Missing Link is turning out to be. Justify the combat system as Luxord being this shady cab-driver who's teaching you the ropes of the hit new popular card game in Quadratrum that's summons characters from the normal Realm of Light ala the medals, cards and statues the gahca-slop already uses.
Then they could actually have spent the break between KH3 and KH4 expanding the world and lore of Quadatrum to make me give a shit about it as a setting.
The point of mermaid Sora was to get my dick hard
Disney characters are in it
Sora's had 4 people inside him, 3 at his height and that includes people inside other people
He doesn't like seeing a spikey haired anime boy with a sword and fingerless gloves hold hands with Winnie the Pooh
Shit is the cutest thing I've ever seen in my entire life.
Of course it does. Are you retarded?
I cared more about the story than the gameplay, and KH3 was complete horseshit in that regard.
Could Sora thoretically visit Marvel?
metal gear
the in-game story is mostly self-contained and rarely overtly self-referential
He already visited Big Hero 6, so there's no reason he shouldn't be able to visit anything else Marvel owns.
Yes
I'll also add that it plays much, much better on the GBA since Riku's moveset was made for a 2d battle arena where his attacks cover far more of the screen.
Because Kingdom Hearts is for starters a Fan Fiction
This is the dumbest take I have ever heard on this game.
upset that a game premised as mickey mouse x final fantasy isn't mature enough
Irony.
Uhh...anon Riku mode was in the original GBA version
I kneel cardgame/v/ros, I wasn't aware the GBA game was so feature complete like that
Haley is not a good voice actor. He legit is kind of bad
Xehanort can track the concept of the letter X which is why he renames the org to put an X in their name and mind controls the fairies into making Sora's new outfit have an X on it.
Don't know if it's worth getting the 1.5+2.5 collection a third time on PC for mods. The randomizer also looks fun but probably something I'd play maybe two or three times at most.
calls out Jews
instant rise in """""people""""" trying to claim he's a bad actor and should get replaced
Not suspicious at all
Why are these so adorable and breedable?
Seeing this shit at the end of Kingdom Hearts 2
i creamed my spiderman pajamas
Sounds pretty gay to be that obsessed with something you hate. If the game plays alright I'll get it. Don't really give a shit about whatever retarded bullshit he writes otherwise.
About time idiots see Nomura kill their precious Kingdom Hearts
KH3 came out several years ago what are you on about
I feel you're blowing this way out of proportion, especially since we're talking about a game that leads into 2, where that voice is also present.
A heartless typed this
he got drunk and ranted against Jews
holy BASED
With how much Final Fantasy is holding Nomura hostage as of late. I'm kinda fine with KH fully moving away from Final Fantasy involvement in the franchise.
Nah it's not a HUGE deal. Like it's not even a bad voice, but it just sounds too deep to be coming out of that goofy little fat face child.
Man wtf was this sigil about? Did Xemnas job to the letter X he put on Roxas, Xion, and Axel?
Might as well get at a later since you might feel like replaying the series one day
Moisture is the essence of wetness, and wetness is the essence of beauty.
when the capes are just straight up removed in BBS because the PSP simply couldn't handle them
That that was literally half the fun of the inherit collab of it all. Down to the fact Donald/Goofy/Mickey follow FF's job system, use their spells, Sora being a cross between Cloud and Mickey, the fact Destiny Island starts you off coexisting with FFX's cast, Leon sizing you up at Traverse, Cid being your Gummy Ship hook-up, Cloud and Seph's duels setting up their series's main focus on the side and even as side-content.
FF is in KH's DNA, and separating it now would be like having not SMT DNA in Persona and look where that got us.
I thought the whole mark of the recusant thing only applied to his DDD outfit not his KH2 one. And it was really only so versions of his heart had a homing beacon that they could track across time.
God... this game's writing goes places.
It's mentioned that Yen Sid's tower changes locations, so that part isn't so weird.
The only things Re:CoM did was add a few new attack cards (That in the rereleases basically only become realistically obtainable close to endgame), add three new map cards (Bottomless Darkness, Mingling Worlds, and Random Joker), and fully animate and voice the various scenes.
In return
The new map cards further dilute the pool so you have even more garbage cards to work with and since they didn't raise the limit of how many you can hold they clog up your stash of them even worse.
They made the exploration less fun because the maps are significantly bigger at their smallest than the biggest maps on GBA leading to there being basically three times as many enemy spawns as on GBA in each map as you traverse it.
The bigger maps also caused them to rework Moogle Points which come in less amounts meaning you get far less chances to draw new cards at Moogle Shops than on GBA.
Combat is ruined because of the 3D arena because now you can dodge roll absolutely everything or even simply run sideways and avoid tons of enemy attacks without having to use a card at all.
Boss fights are also significantly easier because of this making fights like Dark Riku an absolute joke, or more annoying like in the case of Jafar.
They somehow made Marluxia 2, the easiest boss in the game, even easier.
EXP distribution is ruined because the large 3D arena now means EXP gets flung all over it making it take much longer to level up.
Many sleights and cards are ruined because you can't stack enemies up like in GBA leading to stuff that was incredibly good like Omnislash being unbelievable trash on Re:CoM.
Fights in general are longer because now you have multiple waves per fight that have upwards of 10 enemies in said wave. It significantly pads out the combat time.
I'm not saying those gameplay changes aren't valid to critique, but you can't really downplay fully animated and voice acted cutscenes in a series like this.
That's a hard sell, especially for those who just want to experience the series.
would be like having not SMT DNA in Persona and look where that got us.
A whole lot of money?
The last time there was an on screen Final Fantasy boss fight in a KH game was BBS in 2010. If you want to stretch it further to include the mobile games then it's 2013-2017 depending on how you wanna consider Chi/UX
We've been at least 8 years since the last time a Final Fantasy character has had an o-shit moment in any of the games. It's time to finally accept that and fully move past them.
but you can't really downplay fully animated and voice acted cutscenes in a series like this.
You can when nearly all of the gameplay is an enormous downgrade because of that addition. It makes playing the game to get to those cutscenes a significantly worse experience when CoM is already hard enough for people to get into due to the card system as a whole.
Series that only exists to be ff+disney deletes the ff
no
it's bad enough retards parrot that donald is some big dick mage because he failed to do anything useful with zettaflare
Isn't the sigil like some nobody membership Mansex gave out
Kinda wish Eraqus had been fleshed out a little more, you know. Outside the mobile games. I thought he was a pretty cool and interesting character.
Given DDD gave us TWEWY cameos, I'm down for KH to be a celebration of Square's stories. There's no reason to think Chrono, FF, Mana or any other series wouldn't mesh over, Tron, Pirates, Monster's Inc or Star Wars.
When the game is mostly down to setting up sleights into 0's into specialty cards, and when most people (the layman) just want a reasonable-facsimile of KH 1 into 2's combat, I don't think it's that big of a deal.
Half the game is using i-frames from Sleights and cancelling DM's with 0s and using passive cards to ensure wins ontop of stun-lucking everything. And I get that in of itself is a problem and kills challenge present in vanilla.
But my main take-away is that, despite how gameplay rich these games usually get, CoM is a 50/50 slog/fun hill I wouldn't die on in any version. There's a reason why they made a movie for Days instead of a remake even though I actually would want one in the PS2 style, down to the grind.
It's been deleted since BBS. BBS came out 15 years ago. No one's gonna count the Chi stuff because Chi was just a retred of what KH1 did beat for beat, character for character. It's time for the franchise to finally be upfront and wash their hands completely of the shackles holding it back when it's clearly more interested in doing shit without it.
KH3 had FF characters in the DLC
After people cried they weren't in the base game. And they don't even do anything of note in the DLC that couldn't have been done by any OC already existing or Disney property.
Never liked the Square Enix cameos because they weren't the true FF characters, they are bastardized
Nomura just used them to fill whatever character roles he need. Which is why Yuna and her friends were fairies.
People literally complained so much that FF was removed that they put it back in.
EVEN IF you, for some reason, think they should remove the characters the entire equipment and magic system is just from FF.
The more you look at the characters that have appeared, the more you come to terms that this series wasn't a crossover with Final Fantasy. It was a crossover with Tetsuya Nomura, and it's clear he doesn't really care about Final Fantasy as much as he used to, and there sure aren't any new mainline characters he's been designing that he cares about. Except World of Final Fantasy, maybe we'll see those show up in a between-sequels game or something.
To this day I still think KH2's Xehanort twist is dumb as fuck.
you know this dude you fought in the first game? turns out he was an imposter named Xehanort! the real Ansem is this other guy!
why does this matter? uh....
Even after all the extra lore and character development for Xehanort throughout the franchise, it still feels dumb in KH2. Feels completely unnecessary and undermines KH1's story.
BBS's story is a mess but I at least appreciate that it changed the villain's motivations back to "doing it for science/knowledge" rather than KH2's weird imposter inferiority complex thing.
Based truther. People should stop holding out for their Final Fantasy glup shittos to be added. The last non KH OC or Disney property to even be added to KH weren't even full on FF characters. Just heartless based on the summons, Kefka and Gilgamesh to fill out Chi's boss list.
TWEWY got in because Nomura actually liked the characters
KH itself is becoming FF
Rex didn’t mention how to beat Bahamut for nothing
"glup shittos"
go
fucking
back
Cry about it
And the one time KH had a FF character that wasn't made by Nomura (Vivi) he got butchered.
I refuse to believe Nomura played FFIX when he wrote KH2, he just saw Vivi's design and thought "he looks kinda like a heartless so I'll make him evil/creepy".
glup scrimblo yall folk xd
(You)r cock = cartel crucified
I think Nomura does care about FF but it's only the games that he personally has a deep attachment to, which is pretty much FF7 and 8. Since those are the games he worked in the series the most (not counting FF15 shenanigans) And even then they hardly get any appearance nowadays
Kingdom Hearts 4 should have a FF1 world and a fight against Garland.
It's criminal we haven't gotten a fucking proper Final Fantasy 1 character in there by now.
I respect Mickey's strength
Probably because not even Square Enix gives enough of a shit about FF1 outside of whoring out the name Warrior of Light, Garland, Princess Sarah and Chaos.
The fact that the series exists.
The Bouncer Side Mission confirmed for Quadratum, right after Sora completes the Parasite Eve plot (during the second visit of course, first visit is Sora completing the Reaper's Game).
Mickey and Jack hunting Chaos
Jack gets tricked into killing Sarah and his bros
Jack transforms into Chaos and fucks off
Mickey gives a dead serious loredump about the Lufenians
Donald pleads with Jack to return to his old self
Goofy delivers a heartfelt speech
Sora rants about the Jews
It would be a level of kino the world isn't quite ready for.
flashback to when Jack turned into Chaos
it's literally just a cutscene taked directly from SoP but with Mickey edited in
I still can't believe they put extremely important lore in a shitty phone gacha
what videos am I supposed to watch to catch up with all the phone game story?
I wish they remade that and Days.
Namine is made from sora's body, even though sora got his body back, and sora's body also became roxas.
what videos am I supposed to watch to catch up with all the phone game story?
youtube.com
You can download the app to play Dark Road but the KHUX side of the story needs to be watched because it was all over the place in events and side modes paired with stuff from Chi.
meme chart isn't even right...
All of it past kh1
I'm trying to remember, DDD basically spelled out that old Nort had taken over Terra at the end, don't Riku and Mickey retread the plot point at the beginning of 3 and actually seem confused or like they forgot that got revealed as they still try to figure out what happened?
A lot of early KH3 is just restating established plot points to try to catch up people who only played 1 and 2.
Not a retcon, but damn waiting for that resolution between KH's version of Cloud and Sephiroth has been killing me. Oh, and Zack. He's probably dead but it would be nice to have some confirmation on what happened to him.
sex with larxene
the series exists because Square and Disney shared a building
Honestly it is.
