As someone who never had a Playstation, only ever Nintendo/PC, I would frequently swap my console with a friend to play PS2 and later 360 games that I otherwise would miss out on. Japan Studio titles are some of the more memorable to me, being far more unique than the majority of other games.
The studio closure was disappointing to me not because I was expecting to play more of their games but because they demonstrated more things that games could do and actually attempted to show it's worth putting some budget into those weird titles. Even if something like The Last Guardian wasn't the must have system seller with a yearly franchise to pump out, it was actually memorable and one of the games synonymous with the console. Getting something to be remembered like that doesn't happen by chance but they threw it away.
