MARATHON PLAGIARIZED ARTSYLE FROM ARTIST NAMED ANTIREAL

MARATHON PLAGIARIZED ARTSYLE FROM ARTIST NAMED ANTIREAL

>>/ecelebs/

don't care
fuck off

And he plagiarized his art from The Designer's Republic.

She*

troon steals art style then cries when it is likewise stolen

kino

troon

Antireal is a woman

You're an idiot.

Its close enough that I would assume he used AI prompts.

taking inspiration is stealing now

You fucking retard

It is when the inspiration is from a group of designers that do trademark their style and use it in established media.
The Designer's Republic isn't some group of kids making decals for fun, they are a business that operates outside the wipeout franchise. They are actual graphic designer's that wipeout crew knew would add to their games.
You not knowing about them is your own fault.

thedesignersrepublic.com/

how can you own an art style

Reading the wiki on them now they are no joke

tDR has consulted on the re-branding of the city of Quito, capital of Ecuador, and was the only non-national design company to be invited to propose a new flag for Slovenia.[12] tDR was also commissioned to create a logo and general graphic design by French musician-producer Julien Civange for its Music2titan mission to take music on the European Space Agency's Cassini–Huygens probe to the moon Titan in 2004.

They were the people to design the first GTA visual style even

Outside the music industry, tDR created the visuals, packaging and manual for the PlayStation–Sega Saturn game Wipeout (1995), the interface for the PC game Hardwar (1998), and packaging and posters for the first Grand Theft Auto (1997). They collaborated with Swatch in 1996 to design their own watch. They also designed the packaging for Sony's AIBO.

sorry breh it's copyrighted, can't use this anywhere

you can't steal an art-style
you can steal specific images and designs though
bungie was caught lifting art and using it as textures in the game
you can literally see poorly painted over watermarks in some of the examples
they are fucked and now it

You can't argue with these people because they're either paid Indians shitting up the board, AI posters (from India) shitting up the board, or retards (Indians) just trying to get a rise out of people.

woman

Inspiration is not plagiarism. Are you stupid? That would imply that ever artstyle could only be applied once, you stupid faggot. It's crazy to me the "whataboutism" that's on display from little contrarian fags like you because you don't like artists.

I couldn't give less of a fuck about Antireal's gender or politics - stealing from a small artist is evil. And before you think of some gay response, it's very easy to distinguish between inspiration and plagiarism.

Then bungie is in the clear. Marathon's open source engine is called Aleph-1.

Nah stealing from trannies is based

So people should clearly steal from you all the time then. KYS contrarian faggot. Anyone with flexible morality depending on the person's identity needs to get their skull smashed.

you can't steal an art style

You're right, legally that's fine.
Being legally in the clear means nothing when consumers already thinks your game plays like shit, the characters are ugly, you stole someone's art (illegal) and their art style (legal).
It's just another point on the board that makes them look bad, even if the courts don't care.

I'd be honored if people replicated my style in things. It shows what I did connected with someone.

I love when I see a shitty mspaint meme I made a decade ago get posted here. It means someone saved it.

nobody cares about this shit and nobody will read about it.

Nerd shit

It's just another point on the board that makes them look bad, even if the courts don't care.

This is why this story is going nowhere. The moment anyone looks into what art was stolen they see the artist was just aping other styles that existed for decades in media already.
At the end of it being a troon that doesn't know right from wrong is just the cherry on top.

Yeah because that's an artstyle. These niggers literally took the exact pieces the artist made, poorly airbrushed out their name and uses them as assets.

Why are you intentionally being obtuse? That level of utilization could have been permitted if they just paid her lol.

Again, the rope is waiting for you.

so its plagiarism if an artist traces another artist, but if that artist trained an AI on that artist it wouldnt be considered plagiarism by America law right?

lel

They also stole art from a friend of mine for Destiny 1 and got sued. I'm not saying who my friend is because they got a settlement.

Bungie wasn't supposed to take the "great artists steal" line literally.

These niggers literally took the exact pieces the artist made

No, they took a design element of the artstyle and applied it to their own work. They obviously saw his art and used it, but they did so in a transformative way.
If this ever gets to court (it won't) the artist has no legal foundation since his art is easily identifiable as something cribbed from another artist to begin with. He has no legal backing to prove anything. Any defense will bring up the Designer's Republic as their first question.

THE EXPOSURE BRO

Spineless faggot, you people give artists a bad name and make them look worse, fuck you if some nigger is stealing your shit and selling it without your permission you fucking sue them.

Replicate is such an ambiguous term here. To be inspired by something can be considered replication, and that's fine. Good artists will study the masters and use that to refine their own technique. If you're inspired by an artstyle, you should copy what you can to a degree to master it. However, your training pieces are very different than what you should sell - and if you're presenting it somewhere, you'd probably indicate your source.

Replicating as in, copy pasting someone's pre-existing art, removing their water mark, and making some edits is just stealing, especially in a commercial project. They could have just paid this bitch some thousand dollars and have been able to use her art, or have her on the team.

Also, it's a well known concept in the art community to generally never do work for free unless you're explicitly doing some donation piece by your own choice. You're devaluing your work, and setting yourself up to be taken advantage of. This idea that you should just be grateful you got some recognition is some bullshit kike ideal

did so in a transformative way

If you actually look at the decal that features a big rectangle and a number, at the top there's a very intricate pattern of unique shapes that is 1:1 with the art the artist claims it was taken from. There is zero doubt that they just copy pasted it.

Tranny artists don't deserve rights

Least obvious AI pajeet post.

It isn't ambiguous, replicate has a concrete meaning.
And you can look at that and say that is the Designer's Replubic's signature design style.
The defense's 1st question is

have you heard of the Designer's Republic

or

have you heard of wipeout

Any answer in the affirmative would tank his case.

It's masssively shitty for Bungie to just steal png and put them in their game but YWNBAW

You're retarded. The artist's name is still on the fucking textures Bungie is working with, and can be matched 1:1 with tons of the visual elements. What a fucking retarded comment. Even their loss joke they made as an Easter egg on one of their pieces from years ago was taken 1:1 and used on one of Marathon's textures.

How fucking stupid are you?

I heard the retard copied it so 1:1 he even copied the watermarks

They did, but the artist doesn't have copyright.

Yeah but the stupid faggot in this thread is pretending that's not an issue, and saying "hurrr but they were inspired by Wipeouts design! So they're at fault too!"

So far none of the artists own work can be traced 1:1 with wipeout, and is a perfect example of inspiration vs plagiarism. Some people on Anon Babble are so mind broke by the concept of artist trannies that they have flexible morality systems like psychopaths.

you can look at it and say that is the Designer's Republic's signature design style

Anon I'm not saying the patterns look similar, I am saying they are exactly the same. Line for line. Space for space. This isn't "style". The odds of coming up with the exact same intricate design by accident are fucking astronomical.

Go read up on how copywrite and plagiarism laws work, faggot. It's not what you think. Something can absolutely be considered plagiarism even if the OG work was not copywritten. If there was a financial/commercial aspect as well, they might have a case.

It doesn't matter to that poster because they're being intentionally disingenuous to just stir shit up in these threads

pirate nation twitter screencap thread

"Your honor, as you can see my client hid loss in their art and this proves Bungie stole everything. I rest my case."

So why are you ignoring how everything else lines up 1:1, and we can even see their poor attempts at covering the artists watermark?

Fascinating how you can't engage with points like this.

I konw, but the artist doesn't own any copyright on it.
If he had any sort of legal recourse in this you wouldn't see news articles trying to name and shame (and not showing his stolen art anymore kek).
He would have just taken them to court and settled since they obviously took his art. But he isn't because there is something more going on behind the scenes we don't know about.
His art being something someone can mistake for someone else's art is only a small fraction of this kerfuffle.

My guess is he hosted his art on some website that had legalese stating they own the art if posted there.
If he truly owned his art and had copyright we wouldn't be hearing about this rumbling before anything legal happened. We'd hear about it after the case was settled.

Wake up dummy

Copyright always defaults to the original artist and can only be transferred in writing. The artist had copyright the moment they posted it online

Depends where they posted it. Facebook legally owns all the images put on on Facebook. Most art sharing websites operate like that. Artists hate it but they still submit to those places.

Or perhaps since its been less than a week since this controversy erupted, you simply don't know what's going on? Faggot

This anon is so fired up LMAO
Yeah, anny, we're the Anon Babble AnoNYMOUS LEGION IS GOING TO CANCEL BUNGIE RIGHT NOW RAID RAID CANCEL CANCEL THEY WILL PAY FOR PLAGIARISM!

Or perhaps since its been less than a week since this controversy erupted, you simply don't know what's going on? Faggot

No. You still own the copywrite, but Facebook is granted a right to use and display that art. Retard.

Incorrect. Facebook's terms give them a non-exclusive license to use the stuff you post however they like, but you retain the copyright.

kek

Everyone knows what is going on. This is the type of henpecking you try to do when you know the legal route isn't going to favor you.

If you were wronged legally go pursue legal recourse. instead the faggot decided to try and shame the billion dollar company into compliance.

It takes 30 minutes to file a lawsuit. Like you said it's been a week, why is it only articles crying? why no lawsuit?

hire valorant devs

game has stolen assets

once a Riot employee always a Riot employee

It literally just happened a few days ago you stupid faggot. They have every reason to shame the company (boo hoo, they hurt Bungie's feelings) and take their time before making a choice. Hell, they might even be in talks with Bungie already

Why are you so butthurt?

And a lawsuit takes 30 minutes to file, yet he hasn't.
Weird huh?

Because perhaps retard, they're examining their options and are in talks with the company? Are you stupid? Not everyone has filed a copywrite claim before, you obtuse idiot.

step 1: call a lawyer
that's it

troon fight
troon fight

How do you know they haven't done that, retard? God you're so fuckign stupid. This happened like 3 days ago dumbass. It's still fresh.

you talk like an 80iq brownoid. that's how i know

Their options are to sue for damages. They aren't pursuing that and instead trying to have the court held in the public opinion sphere.

You only do that if you think the legal route won't work. If your case is good why wouldn't you think legal recourse would work?

There's something more going on and the artist being a thief themselves is part of it.

You can find where the guy lives generally then look up the court system in that area to see if any filing have found their way onto the docket or into the system.

I'd bet large sums of money that hasn't happened.

you only do that if you think the legal route won't work

Or if you are a poor artist who doesn't have 500 grand to million dollars to spend in litigation against a giant corporation.

troon on troon violence

You'll win though so bungie is going to end up paying that.
Does he think he won't win somehow? Why do you think he would think that?

This nigger copypasted my stupid thread I made earlier today.

Wtf

Where's my cut of the twitter revenue!!

Should copyright it breh
btw check out my design, donut steel

Untitled.png - 1161x1033, 43.53K

Technically, if you publish it anywhere first you automatically gain a copyright on it.
You literally own that gayshit niggertits now.

It's Just Indians stealing shit.

my mistake

Kek

The entire artstyle isn't stolen, the art director have made his own art in a similar style back in 2012.
They did steal some art from Antireal, but no they didn't plagiarize the artstyle.

They did steal some art from Antireal, but no they didn't plagiarize the artstyle.

Well yeah, stealing art is worse.

this turned a lot more meta than we thought

what design did they steal? weapons design? loading screen? concept art?

I can see the thought process of Bungie going

"ooh I want to steal Wipeout, but copying it would get us in trouble with Sony"

"let's steal from some faggot on Twitter that's stealing from Wipeout"

being inspired by a design and stealing artwork are 2 different things

tell that to bungie not me

the artstyle was the only thing I found remotely interesting

not even theirs

Bungie cannot be closed down soon enough.

troon steals art style t

Bungie didnt steal an art style, they stole images with the trannies actual logo and signature on it still. Its not an art style being stolen its the entire actual works.

No, they took a design element of the artstyle and applied it to their own work

No its actual copy and paste of it.

Defending nu-bungie

Only troon around here is you bud

I-I'm not defending bungie, I'm shitting on a troon!

Whatever, troon.

pay this man

That explains why the game looks dogshit

shill ammo is weak

they didn't steal an art style you can't do that

they did and people don't like that they did

well the original artist stole this art style from wipeout!

weird, I don't see any copying and pasting from wipeout into this troon's twitter account

Can't wait for AI to put artists out of work

cant these studios sucked off artists to own the racist chuds

only poorfags with no vision toward the future think AI will "put artists out of work"

I'd be honored to be stolen from

You're like that bike cuck comic

It's just dumb, like it would've cost fuck-all to hire the tranny if you wanted the art style that bad.
