Replicate is such an ambiguous term here. To be inspired by something can be considered replication, and that's fine. Good artists will study the masters and use that to refine their own technique. If you're inspired by an artstyle, you should copy what you can to a degree to master it. However, your training pieces are very different than what you should sell - and if you're presenting it somewhere, you'd probably indicate your source.

Replicating as in, copy pasting someone's pre-existing art, removing their water mark, and making some edits is just stealing, especially in a commercial project. They could have just paid this bitch some thousand dollars and have been able to use her art, or have her on the team.

Also, it's a well known concept in the art community to generally never do work for free unless you're explicitly doing some donation piece by your own choice. You're devaluing your work, and setting yourself up to be taken advantage of. This idea that you should just be grateful you got some recognition is some bullshit kike ideal
