We're lucky that Gen X fart huffers never cared about games. Moomers stick together!
We're lucky that Gen X fart huffers never cared about games. Moomers stick together!
can any zoom zoom explain why they love the 90s so much?
Same reason Millennials loved the 80’s so much 10 years ago. It’s rose tinted lenses for an era they weren’t alive to see the shit parts of.
Anon, there is no culture after tumbl era, only algorithms
Millennials
I fucking hate that name. Gen Y.
yeah but zoomies love the 90s more than the millenials it says. not even close with the 80s for the millenials vs x'ers
zoomers have more in common with younger millennials than older millennials have in common with younger millennials.
The 90s were great, and the period from 97 through 2006 was the Golden Age of Gaming.
t. elder millennial that was there for all of it
Media before the internet was just force-fed through TV networks and the false consensus of an elite few picking and choosing what you are exposed to, which also explains why Gen X are by far the most narrow minded fucks, look at their fanboys exclusively worshipping mediocre stuff like the star wars original trilogy.
Millennials loved the 80’s
What's 80's pop culture? Mario?
Civilization peaked in the 90s, everything after that has been shit.
Less nig shit
Gen X is stuff like RLM and their horrible opinions on movies, millennials are gaming youtubers that zoomers worship so there's a big overlap in tastes.
I was born in 1997 and grew up watching a lot of cartoons from the 90s. Even as a kid I found new cartoons to be "stupid"
not him, but i'm a 39 year old. been listening to a lot of hair metal and micheal jackson recently. its great stuff
mind you, i still enjoy the stuff that came out when i was in high school more, but i'm not going to say things like micheal jackson isn't as good or impactful a music act as say, korn
They think it's the 2000s
Source: zoomer nephew and zoomer cousins.
Pre-911 world
haven't talked to friend in a few years
call him up
"I don't play video games any more. I still listen to music I did as a kid, watch movies I did as a kid, watch cartoons I did as a kid, but those old video games we played as a kid? Sorry, not interested"
Why is it like this?
pre- always connected to the internet and social media i think. yearning for a simpler time they probably never experienced.
What he means is that he specifically doesn't want to talk about shared interests with you.
Video games are more work than all those other things and once you're a wagie for long enough the vigor for life gets sapped out of you.
i can't blame them. imagine being a kid when everyone has something to record everything you do and say in their pockets at all times. how are you supposed to goof around and be a kid without getting punished?
anything is better than modern goyslop
No, he doesn't play video games. All he has is PC and I still have him as a Steam friend too, hasn't logged in forever.
It's true that you can lose interest in the interactive part of it. But I have a cousin that's ten years older than me, full time business owner, wife, special needs child, and he still finds time for a few hours of gaming a day.
I have been friends with and worked with many guys who at some point have met a woman who thinks videogames are gay, or had kids, and that's it he's gone from the online world. Rarely it'll still get me down but then I think some people just suck at time management. I have a kid and managed to play games no problem.
hasn't logged in forever.
a tale as old as time
The 80s would mean needing to listen to Gen X and their fanatical obsession with Star Wars first-hand, and the past 20 years have been extremely stale rehashes of Gen X and Boomer glory days.
That really just leaves the 90s.
i do this only because faggots only ever talk the moment i sit down to play a game.
This
t. Older zoomer
I had some old steam friends that would quip about whatever game I started and it would always raise my blood pressure, there's something psychically wrong about message notifications on screen while trying to play something.
Probably because they grew up at a time where memes were primarily millennial nostalgiaposting and it feels comfy because that was their childhood.
Wish you could have been there zoomerbros. God I miss them
The music, the clothing, shit like that.
Culture wasnt only "what brand do you consume".
I do it because I don't want to talk about myself anymore
As someone who lived through it, crime went down, the economy improved, and pop culture aimed at kids got smarter.
Compare 80s cartoons to 90s cartoon, it's a huge jump.
Gen x are boomers on steroids without the wealth
The shit from the 90s was also being rerun on the tv when the older zoomers were growing up so they grew up with the same shit
if thats true then why is Anon Babble full of culture warring now compared to a decade ago?
97 through 2006
Lolno, it was specifically 97-99, with a few more masterpieces in the year before and after that period.
2001-2006 was an actual dark age of gaming. The PS2 has an atrocious library compared to its predecessor, the GC had a handful of great games but was otherwise weak, and the XBOX had Halo (genuinely good) and a whole bunch of dudebro stuff. We somehow went from taking a yearly classic Tomb Raider for granted to whatever nonsense happened after until indie games and Souls picked up the slack and returned gaming to a new age.
The PS2 has an atrocious library compared to its predecessor
A decade ago was gamergate, trump election season and neogaf's implosion which was probably the worst string of events in history for this board.
Every single iconic sci-fi and fantasy movie
I'm sorry anon, but like pointed out, I think you may be retarded.
The Golden Age ended with the rise of smartphones around 2007. The 2000-2006 period before it was still full of amazing vidya, especially in the flourishing MMO scene.
Western culture peaked in the late 90s and the fall from grace was so brutal that not even zoomers can pretend to like the shit they grew up with.
I hate how you can totally tell the age of the poster nowadays.
When the Matrix came out people thought of the matrix as a prison. but since it emulates 1999 in perpetuity i say jack me up chat-GPT 8.
Because their pop culture sucks shit and the 90s is familiar yet exotic enough.
1990s were teh comfiest of times. Computers were becoming common, the internet was the wild west, it was all new and exciting. At the same time, there was no social media brainrot, no AI, no fucking phones everyone was starting down at in public. People were still super social.
there were also way less scammers. probably because the internet was pretty much exclusive to the first world in the 90s.
Anon, what doujin is this from? I'm pissing myself laughing every time I check the thread and see it.
It's not, it's pepe, gigachad, wojack from 2016
It's pretty cringe working with gen X guys and they're still living in their 1985 high school bubble, even millennials don't hold onto their childhood that hard and use the internet to somewhat keep up with trends.
thats probably why no one gives a fuck about gen x'ers but gen x'ers
graph contradicts the headline it was posted under
The entire field of journalism needs to die
Globalists ruined their time's entertainment.
Source?
everything good was made in the 20th century. all you get now are remasters, reboots and remakes of games that already exist.
Wonder if we'll ever get another entertainment renaissance or if humanity really did peak and it's nothing but a slow decline back to monke at this point. We sent people to the moon in the 60's and in 2025 we're celebrating that we're able to send unmanned shuttles out of the atmosphere to end up as floating space junk.
Wonder if we'll ever get another entertainment renaissance or if humanity really did peak and it's nothing but a slow decline
welcome to an age of decadence, it's only going to get worse until everything implodes. be weary of how content everyone was during the coof
things weren't actually better back then, you're just old
lol
