Not really a fan of Kit and it would've been just better if she was still evil. She'd be a unique asset if she was, but every female characters seems to be noble and perfect and forgivable or w/e.

Why not just keep them both as bad apples? Surge was cool, when she was a bad girl. Not every female character has to be heroic, good or noble or w/e and if bad, "misunderstood", it's lame. This doesn't feel like natural character development.

My biggest problem with IDW is that it feels like nothing is happening most of the time and it's hard to tell where the plot is going.

Ehh. I think Surge would fit better as a anti-villain. Kinda like how Shadow's an anti-hero, a character who uses morally dubious methods to achieve a overall good goal and has a more critical, stoic view on saving people/the world.

Surge should be a character who commits relatively small scale crimes that benefit herself and Kit. Not as big as Eggman, but not too small. And she should have a loose moral code she abides by that keeps her from going full Eggman. She should be willing to work with Sonic or Eggman to achieve her goals. Sonic needs more villain characters. I don't want her to become a hero or even anti-hero. At least not for a couple years.

The current story arc is that Kit (her blue version of Tails) is engineering disasters without Surge knowing so she can save the day and be the hero.

This is either a setup for Kit getting found out and going heel after Surge rejects him, or Surge getting more mindbroken (with the Dr. Starline hallucinations coming back) and going full heel again.

Stinkfags have their own headcanon, but I always assumed a general low level 'sweaty jock' smell since she's a tomboy and is running around all over the place.

That part where Whisper does the rapid knife strikes is literally the best single thing she does in the entire comic series.

The comic is having two writers play tug of war with her character and it’s making an incoherent mess. Ian Flynn designed her with the intention of being a villain with no redemption. Then while Ian was busy writing Frontiers Evan Stanley took over the book and completely changed Surge’s character to a damaged victim who genuinely loves helping people and turns on her boss to be a hero. Ian comes back to the book and tries to damage control Evan’s writing, making Surge vain and only pretending to be a hero for praise.
Funny thing is this is the exact same scenario that happened in Archie Sonic. Ken Penders and Karl Bollers would constantly fight over what direction the story should go in and it resulted in a train wreck. Both are the result of the editorial department doing nothing.

Wasn't Ian higher up on the totem pole because he's written actual Sonic vidya? Why is he sharing anything with that other guy?
