Killing Big Boss was just a means to hurt Zero and make him feel the sense of loss he had felt for much of his whole life. He didn't have any personal beef against BB which is lame and at the end of the day makes him an incredibly forgettable villain after being masterfully set up in GZ.

Side missions are also good but they're bonus content meant to pad out the (at the time) $40 demo.

Why even bring this up? The main op + the side ops in GZ is such an amazing game. It's 10x better than everything TPP has

The entire point of 1 is Snake having to come to terms with being an inferior copy of another man and by extension find his own identity. The Boss tells Naked Snake over and over in 3 that soldiers do what they're told and him deciding that he doesn't like that is the whole point of his character. Have you played the series outside of MGSV?

Open world would not have been a mistake if both maps had 3 Camp Omega style maps with included building interiors. The problem with the open world was that it was a typical open world; no actual level design. TPP could have been the one to break the curse, but Kojima dropped the ball, and Konami did not help by insisting it had to be on PS3 like a bunch of dumbasses, even though they would have had the PS4 dev kit for more than 3 years before TPP released.

I'd say the gameplay is great, Act 1 and 2 are peak MGS to this day imo, you get to fuck with the soldiers with your tools, emotion bullets are fun, act 3 is dogshit, act 4 is great nostalgiabait and act 5 vs Liquid is worth replaying once in a while I kept an extra save of Extreme difficulty of it. Whenever I replay the game I'll just skip the whole cutscene, not like we don't know how the story goes at this point, you could get like 2-3 hours gameplay time if you know what you're doing.
