It's pure wish fulfillment. Most of us look back at those years and think about all the things we could’ve done differently and opportunities lost.

To be fair, she needed like 4 chapters to come into her own. She starts off as just your generic vapid sorority slut who's surprised that her chad BF is cheating on her, and while she's shown to be a decent person compared to most of the other CHIKs, the stalking Chad with binoculars scene doesn't really do her any favors as well, and you can tell that the writer realizes that when he throws a lampshade on it later by bringing up she owned the binoculars actually for birdwatching. The bit in the library with Bella gives a hint that she's not actually an idiot, but it isn't until the story starts to move on and you have her opening up to the MC, as well as how she handles Chad being gay with a surprising amount of maturity and tact while still making sure he knows that he fucked up, that she actually starts to really pull ahead of all the rest of the girls, while Bella's particular brand of charming autism is much more consistent from the first interactions she has with the MC, while the rest of the cast start out much more interesting but have been floundering in the later chapters as they're just used for drama bait after drama bait.
