What is the most accurate PC port that has the best fixes? I tried SM64Plus and it had a few bugs because it's an earlier pc port, and the SM64DX co-op was built around multiplayer so it's tailored around that.

SM64 had a few """improved""" textures for the 3D All-Stars release (the HUD, Mario's hat, the general text etc.) but honestly I think it looks way worse than in the base game

it makes it so blue coins are available in every variant of a given level and it makes it so there's no pop up when you collect 'em. Sunburn has other stuff like adding a long jump move.

I think a way they could fix this issue is assigning a button that makes the background back up slightly when held, so there's still a puzzle.

The levels were designed with depth in mind, how the levels look and play change drastically on 3D, for instance those long straight downwards diagonal levels.
I bought it knowing I am not the problem within the video game world and appreciate a game for what it is.

There's lots of ways to do that nowadays. Get an android portable and emulate the Wii version with the classic controller patch. Even better, upscale it and then play Galaxy 2 the exact same way.

I had one, it was a hassle and a half tinkering with shit on Linux and compiling shit just to get random errors. Trying to compile a working version of Mario 64 for native Linux and not running through Wine/Proton was annoying as fuck. Random missing textures and random issues. Co-op DX exists but it's frontend doesn't preserve the feeling of the game.
Normal people want a device that just werks, which is why ROM compilations like 3D Allstars sell. It's literally just
