Finshed the first one recently, it was a solid 7/10, the definition of mediocrity. I doubt the second one will be better.

It has handcrafted worlds unlike Shitfield. It has better (non Emil) writing and characters too. It's also better on masking loading screens is going to be much more exciting and less boring than Shitfield. Why don't you want The Outer Worlds 2 when it's literally going to be the space game we all begged Bethesda to make?

Have you played the damn thing? Where are these fun characters? Where is this "actual action" when nothing fucking happens with the main story from start to finish? Your companions are BORING with 2 fucking quests each that resolve into nothing, Vicar max is probably the only character that somewhat changes after his quest.

Murder on Eridanos was a bit better, the writing was more interesting but even then, it was predictable, short and, ultimately, unsatisfying. The main plotline is hot fucking garbage the moment you get out of Edgewater.

I'm ashamed to admit I shilled a bit for TOW originally, back when all we had was the original teaser trailer and knew it was helmed by Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky, who had only previously directed great games

Nah it sucked. The only thing I liked in outer worlds was the quest where you have to go rescue a guy and if you fuck around completing other side quests instead of beelining to help him he dies
Otherwise the quests and writing are terrible, and the Pavarti missions are legitimately some of the most disgustingly tumblr writing I've experienced in a videogame

Special snowflake characters. Making a zany mad scientist right at the peak of Rick and Morty popularity couldn't have been a coincidence. The first companion I meet is a danger hair who immediately stars droning on about being a dyke. This game was woke before that term was being used.
Rudimentary skill tree. Apparently all games have to have half assed RPG mechanics now. Nothing more complex than Skyrim or you'll alienate the mentally handicapped.

This game was legitimately awful. One of the few games I've played that I dropped completely and wouldn't recommend to anyone. There's far better woke games if you're into that, far better RPG shooters, far better evil soulless corporate storylines. The only reason I bought it was on goodwill because I enjoyed new vegas but I wouldn't touch the second game with a 99 and a half foot pole. I don't want to get aids.

I didn't care for the characters in either, but at least Outer Worlds had people I wanted to bring with me as more than human shields.

bethesda has been shitting the bed since morrowind, but that doesn't make obsidian any good. They somehow managed to combine the two worst aesthetics that plague gaming. both avowed and outer worlds are somehow browngrey shooters with neon vomit combined. They made a better fallout game than bethesda did, but that's all they did and you can't ride the "better than bethesda" marketing angle when you can't make good games. new vegas was 50 years ago get a new advertisement.
