I highly doubt the devs even know those games exist. The game was inspired by other AAA games like nuGoW and From games.

Nobody complaining about the game actually played it, it's pretty great, the only negative is the music, but I just use my own playlist.

Action games have been ruined for so long, it's not shocking they're simply disguising them now. The core tenants of a well made action game have always scared off the majority of more casual players, which has only grown. The sad truth is pushing the button that corresponds with green activates most people's almonds.

It's kind of neither because of the ability upgrades and the fact that some side objectives can't be accomplished on the first playthrough of a level. It's not rigid enough to be a puzzle game but not open enough to be a tactics game.

it seems random to me sometimes like i've killed a mancubus in two hits and sometimes it feels like i'm meleeing them and point blank blasting them with a super shotgun constantly.

When they pulled out the mech and the dragon I knew they were out of ideas, eternal was such a letdown, had no hopes for this one and I was right.

if it stands still doesn't attack constantly while other enemies are applying pressure sure, its never that ideal though.

Most likely you are talking about enforcer type of enemy which has blue flag over it. They do have more hp than standard variants.

I will always laugh at you retards that are incapable of playing it. 2016 is a boring pile of shit in comparison to anything that came after.

Enemy aggression is kinda neutered compared to Eternal desu, even on max sliders. I had multiple instances of manc just slowly walking towards me instead of throwing fireballs or forcefield thingy.

For me, it's just the shield charge that throws me off. The shield throw empowering it makes it deal a lot of damage which is hard to keep track of. I oftentimes dashed into a freshly spawned Hell Knight and expected to have to keep shooting but instead it's already executable.

I cant disagree there, eternal is cranked much faster than TDA.

I'm okay with all of these except glory kills, those ruined Doom 2016 for me and put me off from touching any subsequent Doom game. They interrupt the flow and are a cheap moviegame trope with repeating animations.

did you know if you hold down the shield throw button everything goes into slow motion until you release it? it gives you cart blanche of strategy.

I played it but I didn't like it, 2016 felt too restrictive already but eternal has only one strategy and it gets stale really fast, they got so hung up on making the "DOOM Slayer" super cool and relatable, and grandiose but also down to earth that they lost their path, the game took a huge hit and even changed the entire image of the franchise, before eternal, Doomguy was just some guy that got so mad, demons feared him, now he is chosen by the gods and destined to be a puppet.

The animations are also just really boring and unimaginative for how much time you spend watching them. Despite the game making enemies drop health and ammo like pinatas, they could have tried integrating the weapon you're currently holding into the animations more and just let the enemy give back what was expended. By contrast, I enjoyed a lot of the animations in Space Marine 2 while nuDoom's always put me to sleep.

i'm finding the game is equally difficulty to eternal to ultranightmare. the problem is that retards just think the game is easy when you can parry but you never die to the easily parried attacks its the projectile spam, quick melees and silent enemies.
its a contrarian zoomer website. if they removed the slowdown from parries they would just find a new goalpost. that said when playing the game you appreciate the slowdown since its similar to glory kill but wont lock you from playing the game. meanwhile when a long shield saw gk triggers in tda i am instantly triggered because i can just feel 10 projectiles converging on my location while im stuck there.

pressing the number keys rapidly and swinging the mouse around is not engaging gameplay. Eternal sucks ass unless you love skinner boxes
