Overwatch was ruined by blizzard and tf2 was (nearly) killed by valve implementing a horrendous matchmaking system that destroyed community servers overnight.
On the PS3 you could choose between 2Fort and Dustbowl, and MAYBE Well if you were lucky. And we LIKED IT that way!

the worst part about competitive is they implemented the too competitive 6v6 mode over the 9v9 highlander which was honestly the sweetspot between competitive and casual. You still wanted to win and wanted to play your best but you got every class to be relevant and you still had plenty of silly and funny moments just due to nature of the game on regular basis. We could had actual good and fun competitive gamemode if not for elitist comp fags who can't stand the idea of a game lasting more than 5-10 minutes.
Some of the best Hightower matches I've ever had were being that scunt and the entire team is trying to keep me from capping because they've already been there an hour and they want to be there another hour

9v9 was boring, too defensive, revolved around the sniper too much and even more restrictive than sixes since there's a class restriction of 1 per class
There's already something similar to a Sisyphus mode present in TF2 it's called pushing AFKs outside the spawn so they can be killed. Then doing it all over again.
